I think Adult Swim should pick up FAMILY GUY and REN & STIMPY, since they were both booted recently.
WELCOM TO ELTINGVILLE sucked. It had a great concept, and it's portrayal of comic book geeks was very funny, but the plot itself seemed to go in an endless unfunny circle.
I'm looking forward to the jetsons and Ranger and boo Boo. The use of old characters are always funny. Harvey Birdman is the funniest thing they've had so far.

I think it was mentioned before that Family Guy is way too expensive for AS's budget and suggesting Ren & Stimpy ever being on AS will get your head bitten off by Matt.

They'll be on the nicktoon channel. I wouldn't want nick and CN working together either, let them be themselves.

Ugh. Talk about an unholy alliance. My personal dream is to never see anything that has aired on nickelodeon in the last fifteen years on CN.

It's hilarious, but also for kids.

Yeah, it was for kids. . .thanks to Bob Camp. With John K, people of any age could've enjoyed the show.

No.
John K. designed Ren and Stimpy for kids.
Hell, Spumco's Yogi Bear and Jetsons shorts were made for kids too.
The problem is that a lot of stuff in Spumco is inappropriate for kids, though they don't think it is. They find no harm in George talking about an arm getting torn off or dressing up Elroy in his wife's clothing, or Ranger Smith's conversations with Yogi. But Cartoon Network does.
It was the same with Ren and Stimpy. Spumco didn't care if adults watched or not. They were making a show for kids. THEY MADE THE SHOW FOR KIDS. The adult jokes are there simply because John K. knew kids would get it, even if Nickelodeon didn't.
But nonetheless, it's still for kids.

I agree...these new shorts are geared towards kids, but since they are different from what was given to us in the past, Cartoon Network decides to relegate it to Adult Swim. Personally, I think they should develop more of these kinds of programming and give it their own block at another time.

The new Jetsons special looks pretty freaky. I don't know where else to put it besides AS. Maybe before AS, but I guess they want to promote it.
Matt you seem pissed about The Jetson's special. So what do you think CN should do? Have you contacted them, and gave them any suggestions?

I think REN & STIMPY can be viewed by all, just as ROCKY & BULLWINKLE can. There were a lot of episodes where Nickelodeon edited the hell out of the shorts because they had too many innuendos in them. If they (AS) got the unedited episodes, it would definitely be Adult oriented.
As for the AS Specials: As I mentioned before, I didn't like ELKTINGVILLE at all. Though tonight's look pretty good.
I hear BIRDMAN has been held until July. Very disappointed. I think HARVEY BIRDMAN is the funniest thing they've had on AS so far.

While I don't think Ren & Stimpy is as 'childish' as many like to put it(it would certainly be a step up from Candidate for Goddess), its not really a fit for Adult Swim. If you want to continue this "Lets make the target age 13 year olds" thing, then fine, but I'd actually like to see it targetted towards adults. It may be my 2nd favorite animation ever out of this country (c'mon, nothing can top the good 'ol Simpsons), but to put it frankly, many of the later episodes (outside of the occasional new classic like Hermit Ren) are pure garbage. (Eggyolkio anyone? )

Exactly. Let CN create a "Sub-adult" Swim for shows like Ren, but please keep 'em out of AS.

Well you're not gonna get Ren & Stimpy on CN, regardless of the block, or how mature/immature the show would be due to who owns it. I don't get why these Nickolodean shows keep getting brought up -_-
And the channel's already got a block for teens if you haven't noticed already. :p

This really isn't the place to discuss Nicktoons. We have established long ago they are NOT coming to AS so I don't know why we keep discussing them. Since this is devolving into a discussion about a Nicktoon, I am closing it. You're welcome to discuss Nicktoons at the AniTainment board.
