I Don't get why CN spending All that money on Star Wars.:shrug:Because its a viable commodity that already has a large fan base within their target demographic (Tweens 9-14) and has decent mainstream popularity.

It gets really good ratings, the best ratings the network has ever had. Don't you think it was worth it?

It was the network's most watched series premiere, but are you sure it was the network's highest rated show ever?I think the TDI finale was the network's highest rated telecast, beating out a new episode of PPG way back in 2000.

In the Old Days Toonami (mostly because of DBZ) & the Cartoon Cartoon Fridays brought in the highest CN ratings

Now Clone Wars & TDI Are the Highest rated shows on CN:D

& Naruto Brought in ratings Till the Fillers Started & CN pushed it under the rug after Toonamis Death..(wich sucks cause I Like the fillers. :( )

Wow, CN keeps raising the bar.

Clone Wars premiered AFTER TDI. But if you mean that TDI broke the highest ratings for an episode after Clone Wars broke the highest ratings for a series premiere, than yea.

Clone Wars is definitely not the network's highest rated show ever. YAH is just doing average right now, and that includes Clone Wars. It did have the highest rated series premiere in the network's history, but that's it. TDI had the highest ratings for a single episode with the series finale like Cheddar said, and, though it gets consistently high ratings and is currently their biggest hit (watch the CN music video on TV), it's not their biggest hit ever. I'm not sure what show that title belongs to, but I think DBZ did get their highest ratings consistently. PPG might've held that title too for a while.

I think the Clone Wars premiere did well simply because it was Star Wars. And it brought in an audience of fanatics who otherwise didn't give a two spits about anything else airing on Cartoon Network. My guess is only a fraction of those fanatics have stuck around to continue watching the show since nothing Lucas ever puts out nowadays can satisfy them.

I'm pretty sure it was DBZ overall since it was announed that the show had over 50 million viewers on Toonami in the old DBZ promos when they still aired "new" episodes but I think that was World Wide and not just those Neilsen Boxes. Also DBZ is currently the only CN show ever to break into the top 50 and top 25 most watched cable shows. Now it's top shows are TDI and Clone Wars but Clone Wars more or less got it's ratings because it was Star Wars.

Yeah, but they are the only action shows. It sounds like you are just a bigger fan of comedy than action/drama...is that correct?

Clone Wars is shaping up to be the best animated adventure series I have ever seen. Beautiful animation, great action sequences, fun stories. What more can you ask for?

'Tis true. Originally, the hour long Super Adventures was the closest thing Cartoon Network had to an action block before Toonami debuted in 1997.

Frankly, wasn't comedy most people thought all animation was good for when the medium first "debuted" in the early 1900s?

Financial security for the network maybe?? I'm the same way with video games.take the DS, my favorite games are not the ones most people buy, but the kiddie games come out and sell a ton and it's good to see because it make the system more attractive to developers with the units of systems in peoples hands. It's bittersweet really...
