Did I miss an episode, or did they just kinda pick up right in the middle of an ongoing story?

Not to my knowledge. The last episode aired was "Lair of Grievous" and that was pretty much a done-in-one dealie.

Darn. I knew this would be a two-parter. And to most's dismay, Jar Jar's back to save the day!

Sigh... Why is Jar-Jar always the one to rescue people?!

Nope. Anakin and Obi-Wan didn't even appear during the last episode.
And awww, I like Jar Jar. =/ I wonder who's writing the episode, though? I thought Kevin Rubio did a good job of using Jar Jar in 'Bombad Jedi'...

That was a rocking good episode. The pirates were great(especially the one who gets into a fist-fight with a jawa), and the whole "jedi trying to survive without lightsabers" is a fun underused gimmick.
Bummer that it ended so abrubtly though. I look forward to next week's episode, although I'm wary of another Jar Jar episode so soon after the last one. I'm not the kind of guy who spends hours on end whining about Jar Jar on internet forums...but I have to admit that Bombad Jedi has been my least favorite so far.

It's indeed funny that drunken pirates caught Dooku, Obi-Wan.
Next weeks episode looks very interesting.

It's a kid's show. Kids like Jar Jar.

Another mediocre episode, really the only reason I watch this show is because it's inbetween TSS and Ben 10: AF....
:/ it's a shame...I hope others are liking it though....

No, they don't, when I was kid I never liked characters like that. That's part of the reason he didn't appear in revenge of Sith. George Lucas likes this character, not kids. C3PO is a way better example of a comedic character who can appeal to kids.

Jar Jar did appear in Revenge of the Sith twice, but both times it was in the background with no speaking lines.

Besides which, Revenge of the Sith was the least kid-focused of all of the Star Wars movies. So pointing out that Jar Jar didn't appear in it does not help argue against the "Jar Jar is for kids" argument.
On another note, I continue to be impressed by some of the stuff that they can get away with on this show. I know it's not the edgiest stuff in the world, but it's surprising to see characters that are clearly inebriated on what is supposed to be a "kid's show". And although she was clothed, I thought it was obvious that they had some kind of stripper on the table.

... I loathed C-3PO as a kid. =/

I haven't watched any Secret Saturdays yet.
But "Ben 10"? Oh, give me a break. I'm not saying it's bad, but its story is definitely worse and much more childish than "The Clone Wars".

Like "Heroes", "The Clone Wars" has web comic served as the episod's prequel every week.
You can go to the official website to read them.

If Anakin and Obi-Wan needed help to deal with space pirates, there's only one bounty hunter to call: Samus Aran. Except this isn't even close, and they'd have to get in contact with the Galactic Federation.

Is this a joke? Anthony Daniels is still alive and well, last I heard. He even voiced C-3PO in Bombad Jedi. Unless he passed away recently without me knowing...

I'm glad somebody else can see this. I honestly don't get any kind of Clone War hate on this forum. It is miles above any other shows on the CN Friday night lineup, especially in terms of legitimate adult content. Sure, there are a few goofy peripheral things like the battle droids and Jar Jar...but as far as story and atmosphere go, Clone Wars is a pretty mature show.
I've tried to get into some of the other shows, but I don't know. Ben 10 has its moments, but it seems to resort to cliches way too much. (Last night's episode had another "they aren't dolls, they are action figures! They are collectibles!" conversation. Total eye-roller. I've only heard that conversation on TV/movies about a million times before.)
And the new Batman show seems totally absurd to me. I honestly can't tell if it's a joke or not. Is it a comedy? I'm serious, here. Somebody help me out. Somebody explain the concept to me. I expected a normal Batman show, and instead I am seeing goofy cartooney animal creatures, and a sidekick beating people up with anvils and pianos. Am I missing something?
Maybe I'm just getting old.

Am I missing something? It's not supposed to be a "normal" Batman series. TBATB is based off of the old Adam West show, and the Brave and the Bold comic series, which also featured such absurd situations. I like TBATB. It's a breath of fresh air from "omgz dark and gritty batman". It's not trying to be BTAS, nor should people expect it to.

Please, please tell me Dooku let himself be captured on purpose. There is no other way he could have forgotten about every single one of his force powers, or that he was dumb enough to be tricked by drunken pirates.

Thank you for the explanation. I had no idea it was taking off of the Adam West show, and I'm not a huge comic book reader so I'd never heard of the Brave and the Bold. So it's kind of a tongue-in-cheek action show? Maybe I'll give it another shot. I'll probably like it more a second time around...but as you said, it's not supposed to be a "normal" Batman series. It just threw me for a loop. I honestly didn't know what to make of it.

My take on the situation is that he let it play out for the sake of convenience.
If his back was to the wall, and he had to fight 30 pirates in order to survive, I'm sure he could do it. But in this episode, he was being pursued by the jedi and had no other transportation. So why risk your life in an all-out battle when you can go with the pirates, get off of the barren planet and away from the jedi, and then wait for a more oppurtune time to escape?
Even though I don't think he expected his lightsaber to be pick-pocketed, Dooku still seemed in control of the situation. I could be wrong, though.

Well, it's not a big deal.
Jedi and Sith are not all mighty God.
Anakin and Obi-Wan both are captured by droids in the movie.
Darth Vader is forced to retreat because those people protect Luke in Dark Horse's comic.
In this episode, Dooku is surround by dozens of pirates, and he has no lightsaber to defend himself. And Force lightning can't be unleashed in a full circle.
Maybe the Force sence also tells him to wait for someone get him out.
The only big plot hole here is how did the monkey lizard stole the lightsabers without Dooku's notice.

"Batman: The Brave and the Bold" is based on this comic:
http://img378.imageshack.us/img378/9063/braveandthebolduo7.jpg
The Golden Age and The Silver Age's Batman is less darker than nowadays.
In Adam West's shows, he even smiles a lot, and is loved by the people.
Batman comics become darker and darker only after Frank Miller's "Dark Knight Returns" and "Batman: Year One".
But even in today's comic, there are two kinds of Batman. If you have watched "Batman: TAS" and "Justice League" cartoon, you know what I mean.
When he is with other superheroes, the "bat-god" seems to know everything , and always prepared to deal with any situation.
I personally like "Batman: TBTB" cartoon. It's pure fun and it has fluent fighting sequences.(The best episode so far is the Plastic Man episode)
But I hate "The Batman" cartoon. It pretends to be dark, but full of silly things and lots of huge plot holes.

The thing is, I think the new cartoon is too retro for kids, they don't know who Adam west is, they are more familiar with the uber dark batman from the recent movies, so having a series that is shout out to the Adam West era won't do anything for them.

Kids don't think that way. There is plenty of action and fighting in The Brave and the Bold. It's a solid show, even if it's lighter than some of the stuff that's come before it.

Well how's it doing in the ratings then? Again some kids might watch Dark knight and wonder why batman is acting differently in the cartoon, then he was in the movie.

Another one of those nice little tidbits can be found in this episode: Casual fans who are not familiar with the EU stuff get to see what a gundark looks like (as in "You look strong enough to pull the ears off a gundark.").
Now when are we gonna get to see some scruffy-looking nerf herders? :p
Anthony Daniels is still alive, so I don't know what that person was referring to.
I could see maybe Anthony Daniels quitting because he's tired of voicing Threepeo, but if he actually did up and die, then everyone would know about it.
Also, I think that Batman post is in the wrong thread...
