View Full Version : I need some prayers

Last night, my wife started having chest pains. Eventually, it was decided to call 911 just in case. They came and took her away.
I had to stay home and take care of her mom, who is a stroke victim with a limited vocabulary and dementia. Plus come morning, I had to start informing family and boss about what had happened.
As you can imagine, today was a rollercoaster of emotions. They had scheduled her for a stress test and she puked during it. Come 3:00 this afternoon, it was finally determined she had suffered a mild heart attack.
I was in shock, not having it quite hit me until I called my mom to let her know her presents would be late, and I just lost it. http://customerssuck.com/board/images/smilies/cry.gif http://customerssuck.com/board/images/smilies/cry.gif
Since then, I've been on an even bigger emotional rollercoaster, having crying jags every once in awhile.
I know I shouldn't be so upset, but the kicker is, I won't be able to see her till tomorrow afternoon, minimum. Mostly because I can't drive. I've never learned how to. I have a moped, but there is no way I would ride it in this weather (single digit with wind chill in Michigan), plus it had a flat front tire and has been sitting in my shed for a month without starting it.
So I'm feeling extremely guilty that I can't see her yet, plus I'm scared of losing her. Yes, I know it was a minor heart attack, but that does nothing to make me feel any better.
Any prayers or good thoughts sent towards my family's way would be greatly appreciated.
An emotionally exhausted

Don't worry, with good people surrounding her with prayers everything will be a-ok. BTW you should call a cab or something so you can go visit her. I'm sure that'll lift her spirits, but even if you can't, don't feel guilty alright?
Best of luck and keep us updated.

My prayers are with you, and may God bless you. I'm a religious person, so I'll keep you and your wife in my prayers often. I'm so sorry, this is awful. I hope she'll pull through, as it was only a minor heart attack. And please do update us.

Well,I PMed dendwag, and found out something. His wife's sister is coming, and his neighbors will help. He says he is not so worried about transportation, and appreciates the support. Let's keep it up, the man and his wife needs help.

Update:
My wife just called. She had a catheterization done, and no further blockages have been found. We (Me, her mom, sister and a neighbor) are going to visit her tonight. She said she was feeling real good, thanks to being doped up. :p
There's a real good chance she could be released tomorrow. Thanks again, everybody!

It's a Christmas miracle! Seriously, I'm really glad to hear that your wife is on the mend, and if she's actually able to come for Xmas, that's a bonus! Kudos, my friend. :)

Final update:
She came home this afternoon, under a ton of restrictions, and reduced stamina. She feels bad that she wasn't able to get me a present. Like I care about that now, she can always go to the boxing day sales. (kidding! :D)
Thank you one and all, for giving me and my family support in my time of need. Now to bed and find out what Santa brought this 40-year old. ;)
Merry Christmas/Chanhukah/Kwanzaa/Winter Solstice/What the hell ever. :p
