Not that I'm complaining since it's almost Christmas but it almost feels like I just started school again in September. >_> Next you know the year is going to be over and repeat..

Anyone else feel time is getting a bit faster for them as well?

Welcome to my world and the world of other people. One moment you're graduating in May and at the top of the world, next thing you know it's December and you're still figuring out what to do with your life.

So yeah, don't feel alone about it.

Yes. Big time. Although 2007 actually wasn't bad, 2006 and now 2008 seem like they have just flown by at Warp speed. Things I had planned never got done. Heck, I'm turning 30 on Tuesday, yet it feels like just the other day I was still in school. I can remember sixth grade like it was yesterday.

I can't believe how quickly time has gone by. Especially very recently. My grandmother just passed away yesterday. Five months ago she was doing fine and looked to be on the road to a full recovery after surgery. That was in July. Here it is now December, seemingly in the blink of an eye, and she's gone. :crying:

It's just a reminder that time doesn't wait for you. You have to make the most of it while you can.

I'm sorry to hear that :(. My grandmother and grandfather look like they can go any day now and I only see them once year because of are distance between California and New York. And yeah I agree we just have to do the best we can, at least I know some people who have graduated are still figuring out what to do in their life, makes me feel a bit better of what to come.

September? I'm still wondering where the hell January went.

I suppose that's another part of getting older. We've gone from bemoaning how third grade lasted forever to being astounded at how long we've been out of high school. I fully expect that I'll have similar feelings as I go to purchase new batteries for my hearing aid.

I'm sorry for your lost. I never knew any of my grandparents since they passed on before I could have any memories of them, but I can completely understand how sad you feel right now and I give you my most honest sympathy.

As for time, it actually feels a bit different from me. It doesn't feel like it's going too fast. It's more like a combination. The time from September until now feels feels like both a long time and kind of short at the same time. I usually feel like that when breaks or finals at school happen. The only time I really remember time flying really fast was my freshman year of high school. Other than that, I've usually just felt like time feels fast and slow at the same time.

Other than that, I've usually just felt like time feels fast and slow at the same time.This. I can hardly believe it's December (I have three semesters then I graduate and have to do something with my life, ah!) but at the same time, I had a massively full semester that felt like it dragged while going really fast at the same time. It's a really strange sensation that hit me once I started college.

Thanks. It's especially tough being that it's Christmastime and all, a time I know she always looked forward to. I'm gonna miss getting a big bag of pistachios from her for Christmas this year. We used to always eat them together when I was little and spending the night, and she'd gotten me a bag of them for the last few Christmases. I just take comfort in the fact she's now at peace and no longer suffering.

Oh do I know that feeling or what... I graduated from High School in 2000! 2000!!! And I still haven't decided what to do with my darn life. I JUST moved out on my own!

Time sure goes by crazy fast when you're not in school ><

It seems like the older I get, the faster the years are going. Almost like a wake up call to figure out what I want to do, heh.

Yes and it's not just the holidays, it's that and because I'm in my senior year of high school. People kept telling me all through my previous three years "Your senior year practically flies by so make the best of it."----and already, we're closing in on Christmas in five days. I want this year to last and it's going on light speed.

When I was in school, it felt like school went by slower than summer vacation, so it didn't seem fair. There's a saying that's "time flies when you're having fun." It almost feels the complete opposite for me, time flies by when you're not having fun.

Yes.

Yesterday it was New Year's Eve 1999 and my cousin was saying 1999 would happen again, I told her no since the years keep going up and there's no way it'd be year 1999 again. My grandmother had to tell her that before she would believe me. :D Haven't seen for at least a year. I was five, she must've been too, she's only a bit younger than me.

That was almost 9 years ago.

Tell me about it. It seems like only yesterday that I was at college orientation, but now I'm already finished with my 1st semester. High school as a whole actually went really fast.

You're kidden right?

Only two things alter time

the speed of light....

and procrastination.

Forget Yoda. There is to do, or I'll think about it later.

I can't believe how fast my semester flew by compared to last year. But then again I have lost all concept of time ever since I stay up past 6' o clock in the am once.

Once you start high school everything goes on warp speed.

Elementary school lasted forever. Middle School had normal speed. High School and now College have gone in a blink of an eye to me.

But, you know what's funny? It's just your brain playing tricks on you. Seriously. People say stuff like, "it feels like I graduated yesterday." Yea, but that's cause it's always on your mind. Think of something that's never on your mind, like your last doctor's appointment and it feels like a million years ago.

Well for me, time is dependent on what is happening to my own life, and rather than look at life passing me by (since I'm now 46), I tend to look at time as a way to slow things down.

Time is much like a river only for some it's more of a rushing river rather than one that meanders like the mighty Mississippi. In short, to a lot of folks, time is accelerating when in reality, they are accelerating the issue of time itself.

But as for myself? Well I tend to slow down and enjoy life. That is the key to keeping yourself feeling young.. Don't worry if you are 15, 24, 38, 46, or even 60. The bottom line is that while everyone else is racing around like a march hare, I take my own life like that of a lumbering tortoise.

It's really all philosophical when it comes to time, I figure I've got anywhere from 4 minutes to another 40, 50, or even 60 years if I'm lucky.

But as for time.. For me It's irrelevant.. Right now it's after 2 am in the morning.. I'll probably be up about 10 am or maybe noon. I personally think that is why I have been happy. to not worry about time, because when you're dead and gone, does anyone really care if you even existed?

That's my look at time.. just another day done, and another day beginning.

He has a point there. I just tried that with my last dentist appointment, which was only 6 months ago, but it feels like it was 2 years ago.:p

Oh, absolutely. It's been this way since I graduated high school, and seems to get worse every year. I mean, it feels like February was a few days ago! 10 years ago feels like two years ago! And so on. It's madness.
