The fanservice in this episode is ridiculous.

I mean...not that I'm complaining.

Also I really have to commend the VAs and script-writers for everything up to this point so far. Except for Nunally. At least her VA is improving.

Nice way to trap Lelouche. If he shows that he recognizes her, he'll reveal that he remembers being Zero. Nicely played, Kugarugi

Another festival gone wrong. Oh well at least not as much harm as last time, which lead to a genocide attempt on the Japanese if you remember.

Got to hand to Suzaku, he can be Lelouch level clever sometimes. That is a great trap with Nunnally, we will see if Lelouch can get out of this one.

The fan service was great.

Finally Suzaku's fellow knights names are revealed as well as their number, Gino Knight of 3 and Anya Knight of 6. Gino must be a great pilot or related to somebody important to be the Knight of 3, being a reckless pilot that he is.

Was her butt just too big or did they unknowingly buy a small "outfit" for her? Or did it slide down as she was running outside? The questions that will haunt me for ages...

As for the episode itself: did everyone suddenly become really stupid? I was disappointed that Oogi and what's-his-name forgave Zero so quickly. I was looking forward to some conflict between them after he abandon them during their big battle. Instead, they decide to just trust him without any problems. And I still can't believe that everyone keeping an eye on Lelouch has a hard time believing that he regained his memory. Also, what the heck happened to surveillance when C2 showed up? Did everyone in the security room left to go to the rest room at the same time? Oh yeah, and great job telling Lelouch your Geass weakness. I'm sure that won't screw you over later.

Also, didn't mind the fanservice, except for that absurd shot of Kallen in the animal outfit. Now they're just being silly...

For a gratuitous comedy and fanservice episode, I think there's at least some balance in this one. The first half was relatively serious and, after all the silly antics, the cliffhanger and a couple of scenes around it left us on a similar note.

I was disappointed that Oogi and what's-his-name forgave Zero so quickly. I was looking forward to some conflict between them after he abandon them during their big battle. Instead, they decide to just trust him without any problems.

I wouldn't say they are smart either...but they were more pragmatic and desperate in their reasoning than anything though, plus there was still a little bit of dissent left, drowned out as it were by the populist chanting.

And I still can't believe that everyone keeping an eye on Lelouch has a hard time believing that he regained his memory.

Yes, that is rather convenient. Still, at the end of the episode we can see that's mostly an issue for Suzaku, since the entire security team is pretty much under Lelouch's control now.

Also, what the heck happened to surveillance when C2 showed up? Did everyone in the security room left to go to the rest room at the same time?

Silly episode is silly, but I believe the in-joke there is C.C.'s cosplaying as some other fictional character, green hair and all. Can't really remember who.

Also, didn't mind the fanservice, except for that absurd shot of Kallen in the animal outfit. Now they're just being silly...

Very, but I did think Villetta's was worse.

The best part of this episode wasn't the fanservice, or the madcap antics, or the big reveal at the end. It was when Milly came right out and said, "Sometimes you just get these little filler incidents in life." :anime:

Oh, yeah, and it looks like very soon we might be seeing the return of Lloyd! Sweet! :D

Hm, even Adult Swim got it wrong. The title is "Knight of Rounds," not "Knights of the Round."

So no Final Fantasy Summons were harmed in the making of this episode.

Outside of the flagrant fanservice in this episode, it was actually pretty decent (but it has lots of Suzaku so I can't complain). I love the shared internal monologue between Suzaku and Lelouch at the beginning when Suzaku arrives in class. And I absolutely adore that he brought Arthur with him and that Arthur is still biting him. I hate cats in general, but I have a soft spot in my heart for Arthur ;)

I'm still getting used to Wittenburg's Gino. I don't hate it but I don't love it either. I love his character, though. He's such a great foil for Suzaku. Their interactions are some of my favorite parts of R2. "By the way, you're amazingly heavy." Tehehe.

Lelouch's face when he learns about Ougi keeping Viletta a secret from him is priceless. Gasp, you mean other people besides you keep secrets, Lelouch? Who knew?

Love, love, love the ending though. That conversation on the rooftop is a highlight for me. We find out that Suzaku has not forgotten his goal to work within the system; by becoming the Knight of One, he can take over Area 11 himself--following in his father's foot steps in a way. Go figure. I also love his reference to all he lost (his best friend and the love of his life) and him saying that he wants power so he won't lose anything again. Seems like a very normal reaction to major losses in one's life to me.

And damn, putting Nunnally on the phone was a sneaky move. Lelouch refuses to lie to his sister, but if he shows any sign of recognition, Suzaku has proof that his memories have returned. How very Lelouch-like of you, Suzaku. Well played >.>

Um, wow. Viletta in dental floss...nose-bleed cannon.

And Nunnally at the end in all her dub glory. Remember not to let your eyes bug out too much Lelouche, you're being watched.

-I think that behind the scenes every time Steven Blum acts as Tohdoh, he always thinks "Yeah, I always voice badasses...cause I'm awesome like that"
-Oh Arthur, you're always causing unwanted trouble
-Crud, dub Nunnally's back. Get the earplugs and turn on the Closed Captioning.

Also, fun with Lelouch's limits

Milly:"Sometimes you just get some of these little filler incidents"
Me: IN-JOKE ALERT! IN-JOKE ALERT!

Ironically that's the name of a clip on adultwim.com. I love the description for it. The clip scene is the one where Gino hijacks the Knightmare and the description says...

A previous episode of this show involved several thousand people being violently massacred with machine guns. Just thought we should mention that

The best thing about this episode, other than the fanservice, the comedy, and the ending plot twist, was the return of the breakneck pacing. For some reason, I wasn't feeling it so much with the episodes since R2 started, but this episode was a return to form in a way. Needless to say, great episode overall.

For the chase scene: think Yakety Sax for maximum lulz.

Last time: Rent-a-Brotherly love. Or not.

Black Knights house party!

Wow. Learn Zero's personal identity and get a seat with Lulu and C2.

China sucks. Europe sucks. Zero is all we've got.

Black Knight. White Death.

"Why don't you take the seat next to Lelouch?"
Light the fuse, why don't ya?

Zero a girl =. Though C2 had dressed as him on occasion.

Who's this guy?

Who's this girl?

MEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!

No, Rollo. No stabby Lelouch.

Who's Beardface?

Swim Club cafe!!!

Lulu, how could you be so cruel?
You deserve to be eaten by that giant otter!!

Well, C2, you like pizza so much...

Release the hounds!!

Just like Suzaku's first day. One big chase sequence.

Filler incidents, huh Milly?

Aww, Arthur's got nobody to dance with.

So this is Lulu's big plan? Take Area 11 and give it back to the people?

NUNU-CHAN!?!

I was wondering what Suzaku meant by Lelouch would be revealed.. and man what a shocker.

From the looks of things Lelouch is going to have to act like he does not know Nunally which will probably break her heart. And Nina has a box in the basement o_o.. another table I'm guessing.

C.C. getting stuck in the tomato truck was hilarious though, and oh man the fan service.. it was basically everywhere.

I liked this one. After a few serious episodes to open up the season, it was nice to bring things back to school and have some comic mayhem, like CC in the crate full of apples and Shirley trying to take off Kallen's costume.

The Weed Of Cri

Those weren't apples, they were tomatoes for the giant pizza, of which C.C. nearly became a secret ingredient. If that doesn't cure her of her pizza fetish (or at least convince her to start using better judgment when looking for her fix), nothing will. She's too dignified by half; a little embarassment will do her good.

This series does have a tendency to get a little grim, and a comedy episode goes a long way toward lightening the load. Especially when it shows the supporting cast at their goofiest. Milly was great in this episode.

That being said, I think Lelouch is making a couple of tactical errors. The first is not getting rid of Rolo at the earliest convenience. Lulu seems to be spending too much time just keeping Rolo from killing people, and it's distracting him from other things. I'm not really sure what he expects from Viletta, either. Is he blackmailing her? That could be dangerous. Using Ogi as a weapon against her is problematic since she is the one who got Ogi arrested in the first place. I know she's been having flashbacks that show she may still have some lingering feelings for Ogi, but there's no way Lelouch can see that.

So Suzaku wants to be put in charge of Japan, basically taking over his father's old job, only under Brittanian sufferance? He should take a long, hard look at where that led his father.

Very break neck episode, as the comedy and seriousness were frequently interchanged. From the post rescue semi party to the school pizza party part 2, it seemed that everything was out of control. And for Lulu, it really was. From Constant Complainer showing up for her slice of pizza (she should really get that addiction under control) to Nunnally speaking on the phone, shocking the WTF out of Lulu, it seemed like this a very anti Zero episode.

Suzaku seemed very IN control on the flip side, pushing every button he knew would get under Lulu's skin. And all that fan service, actually, I didn't really notice it at first, as the speed of things had me trying to keep my mind on all of the action going on. Speaking of which, can anyone tell me what Nina had written on her box (I am assuming it was her box, they way it was flashed on screen just screamed importance, but I was too lazy to pause my tape to read it all). And how did no one realize that Lulu was extremely paranoid about the tomato container that got picked up?? Lulu, who is supposed to be the calm collected one, going beserk over pizza sauce?

As for the episode itself: did everyone suddenly become really stupid? I was disappointed that Oogi and what's-his-name forgave Zero so quickly. I was looking forward to some conflict between them after he abandon them during their big battle. Instead, they decide to just trust him without any problems. I agree, people may be starting to fall under Lu's influence, but someone should still be able to see that Lulu was acting very strange, talking to strange green haired women, and running around all crazy. As for the Black Knights trusting Zero, I know Ougi has at least a little guilt, with the whole Villetta thing. Speaking of which, I need to rewatch that part, because it seems that Zero (or Lulu) has blackmailed her onto his side, but I am not sure.
Curse me for watching an hour afer it airs on tape while drinking and tired...
like CC in the crate full of apples

Viletta's swimsuit outfit was......I have no words. She's supposed to be their teacher. How are her students gonna respect her after that display? Speaking of her, please don't let her get back together with Ougi.

I'm not getting why Lelouch is keeping Rolo alive. He had a few opportunities to get rid of him.

Suzaku, Suzaku. You know I started to like him last season, now I just can't stand him. He's still a sellout if you ask me.

to be honest this episode just shows that CG has too much flair for the overly dramatic in ever single situation possible. I wouldn't be surprised to pull out a new set of emotions from the viewer that viletta is preggers with ougi's child - considering the nature of this show. i mean seriously C2 doing the exact same thing like last year? nunally being put in charge as governor and suzaku coming back when he's a knight of seven? is there anymore of the dramatic flair in this anime? i mean honestly?
plus fanservice up the wazoo in this episode. maybe its just me, but season 2 is not my bag of tea this time. though this was a funny episode because the race involved with the cat. that was classic and lelouche is so out of shape

It was low when they first showed her wearing it. I paused and played that scene in slow motion. Just curious.:o Her death threat was a nice touch, BTW.

As for the ending shocker, it reminded me yet again of Death Note.
This time of episode 9, when L revealed his identity to Light at school and Light threw a fit later on. I wonder if Lelouch will do the same thing if he somehow gets out of this one?
Either way, I doubt Lelouch will get through this easily.

I must say, I do like the cliffhanger, although I agree that by now Lelouch's ongoing deception of everyone at Ashford is wearing thin. Also, yeah, C.C.'s presence defies logic. I guess Viletta was occupied and Rolo was in Lelouch's pocket, but C.C. isn't supposed to be stupid. She evaded Britannia for a long time between seasons one and two. So, it does seem as if she showed up just to suit the needs of the comedy.

Also, yeah, I agree that there was too much mirroring with season one going on. It was certainly like that in episode 2 if you compare it to how Lelouch rallied the rebels in episode 2 in the first season.

On the bright side it does do a good job reintroducing that Lelouch/Suzaku rivalry, and as I said it did end on a good note. Also, I agree that some early mistakes are being made that will pay back later. Lelouch not being honest with his men, his efforts to manipulate Rolo, etc. Things went to hell in season one in large part because all of his scheming and deceptions eventually became such a large load that they collapsed all around him.

I've had a TON of schoolwork lately and haven't really gotten the time to sit down and watch the dub till now.
So we open to...Tamaki stripping. Lol
I love how Kallen denies the fact that Lelouch and Zero are the same person. It probably makes her feel at ease to ask things like "who are you talking as right now" even though Lelouch doesn't think that much differently when leading the Black Knights as Zero.
The segment where both Lulu and Suzaku talk at the same time, filling in the details of their past and finishing each others sentences was really well done. I think I understood it better in English because I could tell the difference in each others voice.
Speaking of voices, I don't care for Ginos.

To understand the serious yet surreal nature of the show, let me set up the last six minutes of this episode for you: C.C, the mysterious woman who has lived for eons who has the abiltiies to enhance people with various type of abilities if they make contracts with her is pushed into a vat of pizza source by her partner Lelouche who is using his abiltiies of Geass to try and change the world to help save his sister Nunnally and avenge the death of his mother by dressing up as the masked warrior of justice Zero who is the leader of the Black Knights the only regular rebellion still around besides members of the Chinese faction but is hiding from the government who have found out about his ability as his own father has Geassed his memories of becoming Zero but he was able to reacquire them again. This was to get away from Shirley the girl that loves Lelouch and at one point found out about his secret but had her memories erased of them, found out again, and then yet again had them erased. She then spots Kallen who was a member of the original liberation front of Japan who became Zero's top commander but was found out to be a member of the Black Knights and has been hiding out from the government even since the last major invasion but put on a mascot costume to try and Get C.C back who wanted to get pizza but tell Lelouche of V.V another Geass powered child who is that Suzaku knows of Geass. Suzaku in turn is Lelouch's best friend but due to his believes is also his greatest enemy and was the one who turned in Zero and is back to find out if he acquired his memories and was passing by to try and chase the cat Aruthur who showed his affection by constantly biting him. C.C is carried away in a giant containter oven by Gino one of the members of the black Knights who showed off his mech skills against two other members and is now showing off his baking skills as another more emotionaly nuetred member Anya takes pictures. In turn Lelouch uses his abilities to create a smoke screen diversions, save C.C, get Rolo (a Britanian spy with the powers of Geass that allows him to alter people's perception of time that was planted as Lelouch's fake brother that Lelouch is using to try and get back his real sister Nunnally) to blackmail Viletta (once Jeriminah's one of the top Britanana soliders assitant who found out about Lelouch being Zero, was shot and lost her memories and was taken care of by Kaname Ohgi the former leader of the original Japanese rebellion as a way to get to know of Zero but fell in love with her until she regained her memories, shot and betrayed him and worked undercover as a gym teacher and was posing with her students in incredible fanserivcy attire) and then find Suzaku giving him the phone to talk to the new Viceroy who turns out to be Leouch's long lost sister Nunnally (who was blinded and crippled and taken away by V.V for various reasons and now is being used by Suzaku to get to Leouch) and he has to figure out how to react to that.

.... I think there's a line that goes "Only something like that could happen on this show" and that pretty much goes for Code Geass who has plot point after plot poitn but in a situation that revolves around as much comedic wackiness with as much serious suspensful melodrama. That's not to say it isn't good stuff but now I'm reminded on why you can't take this show TOO seriously: Because it has a habit of pulling wonky stuff like this. Though the opening was a bit slow (though obvious they needed to set up the relationship between Lelouch and Suzaku again for all who missed it) it was good stuff but it was those final minutes where everything started hitting the fan. In addition to learning about the fate of what happened to everyone at the school after the first season finale (I guess the story is that the bomb was a dud, everyone was vacated except for the student coucnil who had it's mind wipes except for Shirley who is the head of the Student Council and... oh god here we go again), where Nina is, telling Lelouch about V.V and then seeing Nunnally again there was some good action pieces (the sparring) and some good jokes (Lelouch pushing C.C into the vat of sauce and her trying to struggle out is worth a chuckle. She did bring it on herself and really it's about time she suffered some embarassment) makes this another good CG ep that leaves you wanting more. Namley how Lelouche is going to get out of this without abanodnong Nunnally or letting Suzaku know his secret? Man can't wait to see that. Until then usual goodness from this silly serious comedic dramatic fun depressing show.
