Shouldn't the Moribito episode 4 talkback be bumped? I mean, I know this episode aired before, but that was at 5 in the morning and most people didn't watch it.
Remember, kids! Every new episode and piece of new online content from this point forward will count for next year's Adult Swim Awards nominations.
And now, a couple of things you could nominate for this year's Awards if you want or haven't already, since they were posted before Nov. 28:
-America Loves Lists! (http://www.adultswim.com/americaloveslists/as_family/index.html) An Adult Swim Tribute to Family Togetherness
-Interactive Video Commentaries! (http://www.adultswim.com/ivc/moralorel/ep46/) The website has also posted a commentary for the Moral Orel episode "Nesting" with the show's creator, Dino Stamatopoulos.

Happy (Belated) Thanksgiving, everyone! I give you another spoiler box stuffed with anime lines from this weekend:
Bleach
Renji: Look, I have nothing against battling as a team; Kisuke Urahara taught me that solo attacks aren’t the only way to fight an enemy, and I finally understand that now. Just the same, I’ve been thinking lately that all this teamwork has made me soft. I think I may have begun depending on others too much and letting down my guard.
Ichigo: What exactly are you saying?
Renji: It’s like Yumichika said: the way of the Soul Reaper is the one-on-one fight and the only good way to lose is to die in the end. So if I’m gonna die then I’m gonna go all out!
Moribito
Repeat of episode 4
Code Geass R2
Lelouch: Trying to take Nunally’s place, you little phony? I’ll use you up and then throw you away like a piece of trash!
Shin Chan
Librarian: You, shut your hole, or I’ll eat you alive. That’s what librarians do.
Shin: Is he a terminator?
Georgie: Well Shin, let’s see; no, you’re just dumb.
Shin: How come in the first two Terminators, we saw the terminators get nakey, but when the hottie one came in T3 we didn’t see her ass?
Georgie: LET ME READ!
FLCL
Naota: Who are you really?
Haruka: I’m an illusion of your youth, a manifestation of the feelings in your adolescent heart.
Naota: Where did you get that line from, anime?
Death Note
Light: You know, Ryuk, I might have seriously considered the deal if you’d offered me wings instead of eyes. Just the idea of flying around freely in the sky sounds very godlike. After all, it’s been mankind’s dream since antiquity to be able to fly.
Ryuk: You’d stand out if you sprouted wings and flew around, not to mention the police would have no trouble finding you.
Light: I was only joking. Anyway, if I keep bargaining for eyes or wings or whatever else, next thing you know I’m gonna end up becoming a real shinigami. Though who knows? I bet that could be pretty interesting.
I wouldn’t worry. Even without the eyes and the wings, you’re already a worthy shinigami.
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex
Laughing Man: You haven’t changed a bit, Super Intendent General Daido. Pleased to meet you, but you already know who I am, don’t you? … You know, Mr. Daido, I tried to avoid this; I didn’t want to be involved in your world any longer. I was honestly fed up with you people and your rotting rubbish heap of a world. So I haven’t interfered with the farce you’ve been staging since the incident occurred, even though I knew everything. In a word, I was exhausted from my fruitless exertions, unfortunately. … But, I’ve changed my mind because, well, this show you put on today is pitiful. A farce should be funny, but this one hasn’t made me laugh even once. And so, with the utmost reluctance, I must challenge you once again. You and your comedy troupe are going to reconvene in three days, right? When you do, tell the truth this time, won’t you? Because when the curtain goes up, if you put on another performance that rings as false as this one, I will be forced to remove you from the stage!
Cowboy Bebop
Spike: Next time, we’ll make money? Jet, is she saying what I think she’s saying, ‘cause if she is—
Jet: I don’t know and I have no opinion.
Spike: Man, she’s taking a shower in our shower? That’s not okay, right?
Jet: Don’t know and have no opinion.
Spike: Fine, I’ll go tell her myself.
Jet: Wait! Spike! *BANG BANG BANG!* Bad move, Spike-o.
Big O
Schwarzwald: Even without the events of forty years ago, I think man would still be a creature that fears the dark. He doesn’t face that fear; he averts his eyes from it and acts as if he never had any memories of his history. But 40 years can be both a brief time and yet a long time. Man’s fear has withered, and even time tries to wither the desire to know the truth. Is it a crime to try and learn the truth? Is it a sin to search for those things which you fear? My purpose in this world is knowledge, and the dissemination of it, and it is I who is to restore the fruits of my labors to the entire world. Fear: it is something vital to us puny creatures. The instant man stops fearing is the instant the species will reach a dead end, only to sink to pitiable lows, only to sit and wait apathetically for extinction. Wake up! Don’t be afraid of knowledge! … Humans who lose the capacity to think become creatures whose existence has no value. Think, you humans who are split into two worlds. Unless you want the gulf between humans to expand into oblivion, you must think! Signed, Schwarzwald.

Clerks: ???
A-Dad: 523,000
Did it really show up on screen like that? I wonder why they wouldn't show the Clerks numbers? Could it be that they're so bad they don't even want to show them? Well, if they spent all of their acquisitions budget on failed sitcoms rather than anime, it serves them right. I hope their other acquisitions King of the Hill, The PJs, and The Mighty Boosh bomb just as hard, if not harder.
Metal: 610,000
T & E: 328,000
Ha, ha, ha, ha! Tim and Eric lost almost half of Metal's audience! Almost 300,000 people turned off their TVs when those idiots come on! That's a worse drop off than Shin Chan! Should I say it? Yeah, I think I should say it. **** you, Adult Swim!

Wow, Awful Show ratings are as bad as Moribito ratings (which are approaching competency). Surprising.

Clerks bombed really really badly. I still bet Adult Swim likes it more than Bleach.

Really now when even Moribito can get 300k+ and the comedies don't do much better it's enough to say AS needs to let anime have some decent slots again. But they wont... because they're stubborn morons.

Code Geass is a far, far better show than Gurren Lagann, although you're probably right from a ratings perspective. People apparently don't like thinking about strategy and plots within plots that late at night, they just want to zone out and watch hordes of mechs blowing each other up accompanied by lots of DBZesque screaming.
I'm not ripping on it, I rather liked Gurren Lagann actually, its just such a different kind of show that its hard to compare the two.
I think Gurren to easily be the superior show, but the fact is Americans prefer super robots, or super armor suits. Look at the box office receipts for Iron Man.

Aren't they also bringing back Tom Goes to the Mayor for weekdays? Are they high?
The PJs needs to be promoted like, NOW if they want it to do decent numbers later since that's been canceled for a while like Clerks. I hope King of the Hill will be a winner for the block, it's a bit slower paced than the usual comedy fare. If both shows do badly, it's a waste of the acquisition budget.
KOTH will do fine, not sure about PJ's. That's 50/50.

I so badly want Adult Swim to air this. XD
I think Code Geass had a real chance to succeed, but it got screwed over by getting shuffled around on the schedule without any warning whatsoever. It started at 1:30, got moved up a half-hour the next week, then got moved up to midnight, then got moved back to 1 am, and then got shoved all the way back to 5 a.m., and then after R2 started it got moved up to 2 a.m.
No show's going to succeed like that.
Moribito seems to be getting an audience. I'm really glad, that show deserves one.

Well, as much as I like to bash Tim and Eric, that's not really a fair comparison, since we don't know what kind of ratings new episodes of Tim and Eric get. I think in the first season they one time showed that a Tim and Eric premiere got about 600,000 viewers.
Now we know no one liked what they saw the first time.
Could Geass have been a success here? Ask me that when we know how Gundam 00 did. All we're doing now is comparing Geass and its performance to the performance of Gurren Lagann and how thrilled Bandai was with it. Still kinda sad that Geass is flopping while Moribito is getting semi-competent ratings.

I'd blame it on the dub of Geass being pretty much fail but then again AS audiences never seemed to mind that kind of thing.

Big O I wasn't like that. II was. The first season was more or less Batman-esque deco mixed with super robot battles. There weren't big political or strategic speeches, there was a mystery.
If anything, Geass has a lot in common with uberfail real robot show Eureka 7, but the lead isn't as whiny. And we've seen that type of show fail. The types of mecha shows that succeed are for the most part, super robot shows. Heck, look at Gundam. G suceeded, SEED tanked.

Yeah, Big O II was a disappointment when compared to the first season. The first season was awesome. The second season pandered and talked too much before pulling a twist that was stupid.
BTW, website updates! Brad Neely fully joins the website's video section. I Am Babycakes, The Professor Brothers, and a few one-off shorts (listed under "Neely Comics Presents...") are now in the Video section.

Well, a majority of Kevin Smith fans end up buying a lot of his work because they are obbsessed with his work, so they won't be watching them on TV since they've watched 20x times (speaking of which, i'm gonna watch Clerks 2 for the 8th time in 2 weeks, no joke!). Plus the DVD was one of the first notable TV Series releases, and is available at many retailers for $10. So it's a very common and cheap buy.

I actually think Big O is more similar to Eureka 7 than Code Geass, as I would consider both Big O and Eureka 7 to be Eva ripoffs.

Code Geass and Eureka 7 have virtually nothing in common other than the fact that Lelouch skysurfs briefly in R2 episode 4.
Eureka 7 is a show immersed in hippie culture and music and is basically an adventure across an alien planet (which turns out to be . . .). Its style of narrative is even different, as it is driven more by the characters than the plot. In the end, though, it is basically a love story between an alien and a human.
Code Geass is basically ripping off the American Revolution, with Japan occupied instead of the United States. And, of course, we have an insane cackling teenager, Geass powers, and rollerskating mecha wielding harpoons. It is plot-driven more than character-driven, and has a helluva lot more cliffhangers than E7.
The two have very little in common.
And, FTR, I think Geass' dub has improved leaps and bounds over episode 1. Other than Nunnally and maybe Kallen and Rivalz I've found nothing wrong with it recently. But that's just me.
I actually think Big O is more similar to Eureka 7 than Code Geass, as I would consider both Big O and Eureka 7 to be Eva ripoffs.
Season II yes, Season I no. Probably why Season II was considered generally inferior.
And if you can't tell, America doesn't like whiny leads either.

In 2007, [adult swim] unleashed what was probably the last online game featuring characters from an [as] property. That game was called "Worst Game Ever", or "Go Right!", and it was tied in to the release of Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film For Theaters. You can still access that game on the movie's web page, but now [adult swim] has released a new version of "Worst Game Ever" that will be a part of the main games section. It's still the same exercise in time-killing boredom (and still has Shake and Meatwad), but it now has high score leaderboards, a pause button, and new exclusive clips; it's now also called "Go Right: Championship Edition". Nope, just for Christmas. Also, Home Movies will be taking the 5:30 slot, so I believe this will be the first 100% comedy lineup.

I just found this out. I was talking to someone online about Shin Chan that lives in the UK, and we brought up about the song. Apparently the UK AS airing of Shin Chan, they have the full dub opening play, rather than that 10 second blip... Yet, we didn't even get it on the DVD release, as far as I'm aware...

They should've done that initially, so that makes sense. This is my theory to why Death Note, Shin Chan, and Code Geass are doing poor in the ratings, as well as the humongous success of the Robot Chicken Star Wars Episodes (which debut Monday).
Honestly, if they just moved all premires to Monday, that would work too. Especially since they update Jetstream on the same day, just update both at the same time..
WS doesn't run Jetstream, CN does.

Tomorrow.
Why the **** can't Adult Swim announce their schedule changes more than a day in advance? I would have watched Clerks yesterday if I knew it wasn't going to air on Sunday. I can't blame them for taking it off, as it was a braindead decision to air it in the first place. But, at least give some God damn notice before hand.

The CN/AS West Coast feed is now also being shown on Dish Network as well as on DirecTV. So viewers of both major satellite TV services now can watch or record CN or AS shows they may miss on the first go-round, if they're willing to wait for 3 hours. (^_*)

Seriously? *goes to check* HOLY CRAP, FINALLY! I was always pissed that Nick and Disney got both feeds but not CN.
...But it won't be of much use to me now because I barely watch the channel nowadays.

Replaced Sunday Clerks with Family Guy on less than a week's notice. Can't blame them, because it tanked on Sunday.

Sure you can. They must have gotten the Sunday ratings by Tuesday. They could have announced the schedule change then, instead of waiting till Saturday.
