...Does this screw up any chance of CN letting it have a permanent spot after the 10th anniversary marathon?

Based on the whole aspect of the situation, probably.

It would mean though, knocking Huckleberry Hound and those others off, not that everybpody recives boomerang, but more folks are..not trying to start a flame war (I didn't go to Dragon school! :D). (I've wondered if late 50s-60s HB showings even on Boomerang not being anymore is ANYTHING related to the much mentioned music rights, the same music attacked for its music strike era alignment with those Huck era 1958 Warner shorts. PPG has no such problems due to custom made scores...)
Obviously now since it's been at least 15 years since the 1990s, anything since mid ealry 1980s can be possible on there.

I know that there will come the inevitable complaints from fans that Powerpuff Girls is "too new" to be airing on Boomerang, but the way that I see it, if Cartoon Network isn't interested in showing PPG anymore, and we're still waiting for volume 2 of the PPG DVD set, a run on Boomerang is better than not showing PPG at all.

Whoops! OK, then, so PPG airing on Boomerang will be good for those too cheap to purchase the DVDs.

I've never been able to afford Boomerang. I wish it came on basic cable. As for PPG, I'm getting the DVD set. So I don't care about what happens to this show rerun-wise.

I'll personally still be getting the DVD set, but it's still nice to see it airing again somewhere.

Well, I'm one of those cheap guys who can't shell out the money for the DVD, so I'm thanksful that Boomerang is airing this.

Season 2 is out as well but only in Australia. Never did see the point to doing that.

Slightly off-topic, Tednut, but your Blossom avatar is super cute.

Kinda ironic how just a few years ago PPG was one of the darlings of CN and has now been more or less castoff by the network.

How is that ironic?
It was popular and now it's not. I think we should consider ourselves lucky that not only will the show being airing on Boomerang it's also going to be released in a full series set.

Oh I understand its just kinda weird in a way. But Cartoon Network as well as other networks always do this. No big deal.

Well also the PPG still is CN's biggest homegrown merchandising hit. Nick's had several (Rugrats, Blues Clues, Dora the Explorer, The Backyardigans and most especially Spongebob) that were/remain immensely popular for years on end.
PPG was popular for a couple of years and then imploded from the lack of momentum (the utter bombing the movie didn't help) and CN has yet to field an original series that's as much of a merchandising powerhouse as PPG.
It's inevitable (If you look at Disney Channel now, it's like Hillary Duff and Lizzie McGuire never existed, let alone were Disney's big draw cards)

The PPG movie bombing was mainly due to how it was promoted:
1: It was promoted as strictly a *girl's* movie. I remember virtually every ad had the 'That's what girl's do' song playing.
2: It opened against Lilo & Stitch. That was a huge error in itself, but the biggest mistake of all:
3: The film was prohibited from playing after 6 p.m. for some... odd reason. Every theater it played only gave it matinee screenings, not even when it went to the second and third tier theaters. That cut a major part of it's gross right there.

Well, I don't blame the failure of the Powerpuff Girls movie for this, but all of the episodes made after the PPG movie sucked, primarily due to Craig McCraken's lack of involvement with the series. McCracken stopped caring about PPG the instant Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends popped into his head. As a result, he was far less involved with PPG in it's last season, and the series suffered as a result of this.

"Right, how many did we lose?"
"Bugs Bunny..."
"Superman..."
"...and Batman, that's five."
"Three, sir."
"Three, three. So we better not risk another major acquisition. Those rerun fees are dynamite."
"Would it help to confuse them if we aired Baby Looney Tunes?"
"Oh shut up and go and change your armor."
"LET US TAUNT THEM! They may become so cross that they will tune in anyway!"
"Like Adult Swim?"
"Oh..."
"Have we got Porky?"
"No..."
"We have The Powerpuff Girls."
"Yes, of course! The Powerpuff Girls of Townsville! 'Tis one of the sacred relics Cartoon Network carries with them! CARTOON NETWORK! BRING US THE POWERPUFF GIRLS!"
(pie Iesu domine, dona eis requiem...)
"How does it, erm...how does it work?"
"I know not, my liege."
"CONSULT THE BOOK OF UTONIUM!"
Utonium, chapter 1, verses 6 to 24...
"And Saint McCracken raised the Holy Videotape up on high, saying, O Cartoon Network, bless this Thy Powerpuff Girls pilot episode, that in it they mayest beat Thine enemies to tiny bits in Thy mercy. And the Executives did grin, and the People did feast upon the toys, and clothes, and bedspreads, and computer games, and video casettes, and breakfast cereals, and fruit snacks, and live--"
"Skip a bit, brother."
"And the Narrator spake, saying: First shalt thou takest thy Sugar. Then shalt thou takest thy Spice. Then shalt thou gather together all things deemed Nice in Mine eyes. Then, as these items are together mixed, shalt thou accidentally knockest thy vial of Chemical X into thy concoction. This shall produce three girls: no more, no less. Three shall be the number of girls it shall produce, and the number of their counting shall be three. Four shall they not be counted, neither count them two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out! Once the number three, being the third girl, be created, then lobbest thou thy Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup towards thy foe, who being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it."
"Amen."

It will be interesting seeing The powerpuff girls on boomerang. It was cartoon networks most popular show only 7 or 8 years ago.

Like the old slogan of the series: "Saving the World Before Bedtime"
Still, what a horrible idea that was, preventing it from being allowed to play at night. If it had played at night, I would've gone to see it in theaters, but no, they had to play it while I was at school and when Toonami was on.
The only movie I recall that got a worse deal was my (at the time) local theater playing Pokemon 4Ever for ONE SINGLE SHOWING at 10AM on a Thursday morning.
Now that the complete series is coming to DVD, I don't really care where it ends up on television. ;)
