I'm dead serious.
On February 17, 2009, a new era in television begins. Gone are the days of old when we relied on standard, analog TV. Now we take a bold step into the future with a landmark transition to digital TV.
There have been countless ads about it (i.e. one starring Bob Barker). But IMO, having classic cartoon characters in the mix would be AWESOME! :D
Specifically, Felix the Cat needs to have his own DTV ad. (At least if they only chose one.) That would be pure win.
And trust me, there's a GOOD reason (http://www.felixthecat.com/history.htm) why they should do this.
Your thoughts?

That's an excellent idea. He introduced television programming to the world. Problem is, he ain't as famous as he was in his early days. That and today's media probably forgot him. Speaking of Felix, there was a Valentines and a Halloween DTV movies planned for Felix, but they never came through. There was also going to be a CGI Poindexter movie, but that too was scrapped. All we've ever got from Felix recently was a Christmas DTV movie. To find out more on these scrapped movies, check out the official Felix site.

^I read somewhere on the same site that the Valentine and Halloween films are in pre-production mode right now; not really scrapped, though.

Actually its been like that for over a year now. I checked the site during the summer of 2007 and the status hasn't changed.
When I was a kid I really liked The Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat, but apparently that failed. I doubt a revival would work now especially since not even Mickey Mouse is relevant anymore.

True. But I was only suggesting a commercial; not a full-fledged revival.

I say yes, since Felix was the first cartoon character to be used to be transmitted through television Way-Back-When.
But I think the cartoon character we'll most likely see in a DTV Transition commercial will be someone like George Jetson or The Simpsons.

Felix was also the first television cartoon made in New York [the 1950s revival that iwas a guilty pleasure of mine], people [it's own producer] straight of the former FAMOUS STUDIOS as a matter of fact, right down to the soundtrack-Jack Mercer [voices] and Winston Sharples [music-and that was alreayd used by him in ealrier Famous studios shorts..
