The Third Episode Of Clerks The Animated Series Is Airing Tonight At 11PM On Adult Swim And Thsi Is The Talkback For It.

FULL TITLE: "Leonardo Is Caught In The Grip Of An Outbreak Of Randal's Imagination And Patrick Swayze Either Does Or Doesn't Work In The New Pet Store."

SYNOPSIS:
Dante and Randal read fan mail and introduce a new black character, Lando. Randal neglects a shipment of frozen burritos. A new pet store opens next door, and Patrick Swayze works there. Randal fears an outbreak after Leonardo Leonardo is bitten by a monkey and gets food poisoning from the burritos. After Jay and Silent Bob steal the monkey to teach it to smoke, Randal and Dante must track it down, as it is the key to stop the town from being liquidated.

NOTE ONE: Adult Swim was originally going to skip over the Friday airing of this episode in favor of showing the two robot chicken Star Wars Specials. They realized they're mistkae though and moved the specials to the 12AM slot. Also they finally updated the titles and actually ran an ad, meaning they are offically recongnizing Clerks: The Animated Series being part of they're line up.

NOTE TWO: It's not required but if you see the movie "Outbreak" before this episode you may get a couple more of the jokes.

NOTE THREE: This is one of the four epsiodes ABC Didn't air and first made it's appearence in the Clerks Marathon in late 2002 when Comedy Central temporarily acquired the show.

Well that's it. Enjoy this one everyone!

"Look at him (The monkey), shaking in fear."

"He's masturbating."

"Yeah, but it's out of fear,"

This show just keeps getting better. The scenes with Jay, Bob, and the Monkey are an excellent preview of what would come later in their solo film.

"Can the virus kill the Grimace?"

"Nothing can kill the Grimace."

This gets better with each episode. Plus, James Woods, Alec Baldwin and Gilbert Gottfried!

When I first heard James Woods in this episode, I first thought it was Kirk Thorton; I never even realized how similar their voices are (sometimes).

Which episode is the one with the anime ending? That's the only one I saw along with last weeks.

"Sorry I'm late, I was just coming from a costume party. But ironically enough, not the SAME costume party!" BTW, on the commentaries, the creators said that putting the mayor in a face-hiding outfit was a deliberate choice so they wouldn't have to design one and draw comparisons from other animated mayors like Quimby.

"Oh Plug, I see a light, a wonderful light..." (Plug is simply shining a flashlight in his face)

Love the "It's OK to be gay" speech told to Dante at the end, as well as the stealth bomber saying Dante's address on national TV. :D

Surprised nobody mentioned the beatdown yet. "WE do the Science Sez segment, GOT IT?"

This was a good episode, but I like the first two better. The smoking monkey was hilarious, Jay and Silenbt Bob didn't seem to be in much of this episode. And the running gag involving Lando was funny.

The Science Sez segment wasn't as funny as "Safety Tips" or "Rainy Day Fun". I wonder if the writers were running out of ideas for Jay and Silent Bob shorts by this point. No wonder they eventually get droped (I forget if I was told they ended with this or episode 4).

Is this the only episode that begins with Dante and Randall reading fan mail?

Is this the only episode that begins with Dante and Randall reading fan mail?

The last episode has them going to a San Diego Comic-Con-esque convention and they get criticism from fans in the audience

I missed the first minute. Why are there no female characters?

I have to say, this episode wasn't very good. I only laughed a few times.

they didn't really give a reason Randall and Dante just kind of laughed the letters off and tossed them away!

I think the only recurring female characters we get in the show is the woman reporter, and two giggling teenage girls, who'll put in an appearance in next week's episode as well.

Sadly, this was the last 'Jay & Silent Bob Sez' segment, although the 'Next Week on Clerks' bit still continues.

and two giggling teenage girls, My favorite bit with the two giggling girls is when one asks, "OK, when was the last time you had SEX?" The way her eyes widen in anticipatory glee as she asks that gets me every time.

"I just can't stay mad at that monkey."

This was originally going to be the 3rd episode aired on ABC. Unfortunately, it was canceled before that happened.

Next week: The FIRST episode aired on ABC... But the fourth made.
