Banner Makeover

[Taco Wiz]

The banner at the top of the forum is obselete. One of the admins needs to replace it. I suggest:

Flapjack
Chowder
Chris [from Total Drama Island]
Johnny Test

Does anybody else think we need a new banner? If so, do you have any character suggestions?

Considering there isn't much anime on CN these days, the only one I would realistically put is Pikachu from Pokemon.

The transition characters aren't needed anymore. When the banner was first put up, clicking on one of the names would play a short animation, then take you to that board. (not to mention that the Toonami board may eventually fade into a ghost board)

Personally, I think the whole board should got a color change if the banner is changing, because the banner has to match up with the board colors. Once you change the banner, it's too late to change the colors.

Well, this doesn't need to follow the same format as the current banner, does it?? It doesn't have to have a few characters in the front with some silhoutted in the back, right?? I mean the Nick forum doesn't have that. Can't we just make a completely different banner??

I suggest a banner like this:

In the top left corner is space with a scene of Star Wars battleships engaging in battle. The space fades out into white as it spreads across the rest of the banner. In the bottom left is a Nood peeking into banner with its finger pointing to the center, where there is the CN logo. On the top right is a picture of Zak holding out the claw with Flapjack underneath, looking amazed at the claw and trying to touch it. Under Flapjack is Johnny Test holding out a remote control doo hickey that zaps something. And in the top middle just to the right of the CN logo is Owen hanging with one arm holding on to a tree while he waves.

I'll draw up a sketch of how I see it in my mind later on.

I think that idea sounds a wee bit too busy. I think a refresh of the current banner would be the easiest way to go.

Yeah, we don't need a complete new design. I just want the characters to be from shows that still have reruns [or new episodes] on Cartoon Network.

Maybe, but I guess I just find the current format of the banner a tad plain and doesn't properly represent the network's theme (Noods, black & white, color strips), and that's on top of it being outdated.

Not necessarily, the banner is hardly ever seen since most people on the forum are constantly scrolling downwards or upwards when reading something. The banner won't clash with the background color scheme.

Jave, do you have any idea who does these flash banners, or why nobody ever bothered to change the banner?There are two, but unfortunately one of them retired (the person who did the original design) and the other is very busy with life. We've talked about changing the banner, but right now, it's not a priority.

Whenever we have the time to change the designs, it will happen, but these topics are ultimately futile on speeding things up, so don't sweat.
