The fifth episode of the newest CN original series airs tonight on You Are Here. Here is the synopsis: Doc and Drew decide to go out together on their anniversary, leaving Zak, Fiskerton, Komodo, and Zon to watch their home.
What do you call a husband and wife who are celebrating their anniversary of being happily married, and who go out of the house, leaving an 11 year old boy with cryptid powers and 3 cryptids at home alone?
Trouble.
Now stir in one ticked off guy with a metal jaw of some sort, and he's creepier than V.V. Argost on a good day? What do you have then?
Who's on the dinner menu?
And if we find any new cryptids tonight, I'll be sure to put that out there in our Cryptozoology 101 study class...
But we shall see. but for right now, class is dismissed.. for this week...unless a cryptid pops up here somewhere.

Wait teach, you sure that this guy isn't some sort of human/cryptid hybrid in the vein of Munya?

This was my first guess, but did Munya show us any consumtion powers at all in the hour-long episode?
Mabey this was a possible early design that he decided to use .

No, but maybe they don't have the same cryptid DNA. Munya has the DNA of a giant spider, not Matter-Eater Lad (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matter-Eater_Lad).

I'm curious as to what this monster is. Hey, maybe it's not even a cryptid. I guess it'd be kinda cool to have episodes that don't revolve around cryptids at all, because the Saturdays do deal with a lot of other interesting stuff that's non-cryptid related. A lot of their stuff also does have some mythical or magical presence (i.e the Claw, Drew's sword). Looking forward to it.

True, but at the same time, I'm glad that he's not in every episode. If every show was "The Saturdays VS Argost", it would get old real fast. Heroes who fight the exact same villains nonstop bore me. The show's premise could even allow for some non-cryptid centric stories, since cryptids aren't the only paranormal beings on the planet.
As always, I'll refrain from commenting on "Guess Who's Going to Be Dinner?" until after I've seen it.

I agree, it is best to steach out the Argost story by having Argost appear sporatical.

This episode was written by Eddie Guzelian, one of the better writers in animation writers today in my opinion. And Jeff Benett using that dead pan voice that a lot of us are familar with.
And yes Drew looked great in that dress. Doc is a lucky guy.
This is the 5th episode, and so far we have to yet meet to another human kids besides Zak.

Yeah it was basicly a none criptid related episode as there was no cryptid introduced in this episode. Just a crazy man so obsessed with eating he had his jaw geneticly altered to do so. Overall not really a bad episode.

yep none cryptid related, just geneticly altered to be able to eat anything. Fun episode, human so obsessed with eating rare and exotic things that he altered himself to be a better eater, crazy much.

To me, Guess Who's Going To Be Dinner? isn't really about the adult Saturdays' anniversary, or about the Beeman riddance plan. Nor is it really about "Piecemeal"'s initial coming to the Saturdays' world. This's really about Fiskerton's bravery when faced w/his possible murder; also, it is about this:
ZAK (Lofting his mother's FireSword and aiming it at "Piecemeal"'s murderous ass):
"GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!"
"ZHYUUUUWEEAWNK'SHUHHHHH!" (The FireSword's SFX as rendered
by me)
'Nuff said.
"Galvin Prime"? As in the planet greymatter is from?!
I felt like a real geek for catching that, given what an obscure piece of Ben10 trivia that is.

Well tonight we didn't have per se any Cryptozoology but we did have some crypto-(Biology) with the weird plants Drew Saturday is growing.. I mean one species of plants is a variant of the pitcher plants of known biology but they emit some sticky goo.. (So maybe instead of Cryptozoology we should also look at the odd plants Mom Saturday is growing (and her magic comments were also funny). Anyone up for crypto-botany 101?
Is it just me, or does Drew Saturday remind you of another hottie who wears dresses from time to time, but only in green and black? (Hint Hint)...
As for Dr. Arthur Beeman, let's just say he knows his aliens..Galvin Prine that was a hoot.. (Now we'll have to have a Ben 10/Secret Saturday crossover somewhere in here. either way it was FTW.)
Piecemeal is a piece of work.. I mean a genetically altered jaw that makes most spiders look ordinary.. I mean talk about creepy...
And then there's my favorite line of the episode:
GET...OUT...OF...MY...HOUSE!!!
Now as for Zak and his punishment as well as his maturity, I have to say this was a fine bit of character development. Eddie Guzelian wrote a great story and with Zak having to fend off Piecemeal and his hungry hungry hippos routine, well I have to say that Mr. Guzelian wrote a great story. In the end, I feel that Fiskerton was on the menu, but then it got me to thinking.. Why wasn't Zon on the menu as well? After all, a pterasaur/Ornithocheirus tastes like any avian would.(MMM Tastes like Chicken!), plus the reptillian side as well. (MMM Tastes Like Chicken!)
And wouldn't Zon be considered Zak's little sister now?
Just some fun tonight and for it's efforts it's definitely a Grade A show.. with an A for emphasis..
Let's just hope we see some more of Piecemeal and his want for a Gorrilla Cat sandwich, (Hold the Garlic).

Well Piecemeal had a checklist and probably had an order in which he wanted to eat things. Now Zon's species might have been on the list eventually just not yet. He may have obessive compulsive disorder to go with everything else as he does seem that obsessed with eating rare things that he has to follow his checklist.
I think only Fiskerton really is considered a brother to Zak.
At the end of the episode, they said "brothers", so apparently the lizard and dinobird count, too.

Can't argue with that. I like Drew's white hair. Reminds me of Storm (although her hair is shaped more like that of the early Susan Richards, aka Invisible Woman).

Never seen this show, but decided to finally give it a try and I really enjoyed it. Could someone who's seen the whole show so far could you answer a few questions. Why did Zack call that Big Foot creature his brother? If this show is about cryptids why is the lizard a komodo dragon since those are spotted regularly, shouldn't it be the lochness monster? So pretty much I want to get caught up on what I've missed. Can't wait to watch again.

1) The "big foot" creature is a Fiskerton Phantom (aka a Gorilla-Cat). His name is Fiskerton. Also, Komodo dragons are former cryptids, and Komodo (the lizard) is genetically-altered ad can become invisible, which makes him count as one. And it's actually 'Zak'. No 'c'.

It still amazes me that there's a show where the parents are actually depicted as being cool and not bumbling idiots. Even though Doc and Drew were on the sidelines in this episode, their absence felt integral to the story...

I think what I like about Drew is besides being a totally hot milf, is that she's got a great personality. She's also a strong fighter, but she's still a caring and attentive wife and mother. I find that very attractive.

All of the characters in this show are very well-written. Once the writing team gets more practice writing plots, this show'll be a real winner.

Why did Zack call that Big Foot creature his brother?
I believe that the "brother" thing was addressed here before, but nonetheless, here it is again:
Fiskerton (the bigfoot creature in question) is a Fiskerton Phantom. Obviously, he's not Zak's flesh-and-blood brother, but he's very close to the Saturday family, and as such, he is more than mere pet or a test subject. Rather, he and Zak are more like best friends/siblings, hence why Zak referred to Fiskerton as his "brother".

Yeah, I think by Season 2, they will have gotten the hang of it. ;) But I can say this is way better than Tutenstein (Jay's other show)...that show is horrible at comedy and action. Then again, he wasn't even executive producer there. He was barely a consultant.

I think Drew Saturday was more irritated rather than angry at Doc, and thus she gave him that "Fiskerton furball sandwich" in that episode. I see Drew Saturday's VA (Nicole Sullivan) as a little more level-headed and a lot less hot tempered unlike the Shego character that she played in Kim Possible.
Actually come to think of it, Drew Saturday has the action appeal like Shego from Kim Possible, with the more humorous side much like Mira Nova from Buzz Lightyear of Star Command. In this case I think Nicole Sullivan as Drew Saturday, has hit a perfect match of both action adventuress mixed in with doting mother.
