I apologize if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but it’s being reported that a new Hot Wheels series will debut on Cartoon Network next year, as part of its Saturday morning lineup (http://www.actionfigureinsider.com/main/?p=1386). It will also air on Teletoon in Canada. Again, I apologize if this is old news.
"We are excited to work with some of the top names in the industry to bring Hot Wheels to the small screen," said Barry Waldo, Vice President of Worldwide Entertainment & Consumer Products, Mattel. "Hot Wheels continues to be a top boys property year after year and the new series will deliver everything boys have loved about the brand – speed, power, performance and attitude – along with adrenaline-fueled action and new, never-before-seen vehicles and characters. This is an incredible milestone for the Hot Wheels brand."

Well DAS does not have much in the way of premiers anymore (Just Pokemon and Bakugan) so I guess for that block this is better then nothing.

I'm hoping DAS gets rebranded, to tell you the truth.

This is dissapointing. I don't know if I've ever mentioned this before, but I absolutely HATE shows based off of toy lines. I mean HATE. The only one that I've come across that is all right is Transformers: Animated.
So I guess DAS will live on.

It probably will. I mean CN seems to be determined with uniformly structuring the channel with the "Nood" look and DAS is the only odd block out right now. I figure it will soon be replaced with a nood themed block.

Saturday mornings can exist without DAS. CN has had a Saturday morning block before DAS started; it showed Ben 10 and other shows like Dragon Hunters and Team Galaxy. CN could always start a new Saturday morning block.
Then again, I can see DAS existing without the Fried Dynamite kids. Dynamite Action Squad can easily be rebranded with the Nood look. Imagine a bunch of Noods in tuxedoes jumping out of plains James Bond style shooting guns into the sky. The screen zooms onto the ground as one Nood lands and kneels on the ground while the plane they jumped out of blows up in the background, and then written in the sky in the background is "We'll be right back with Pokemon". It looks pretty cool in my mind. ;)

According to the press release, the animation will be done by Nelvana and Nerd Corps.

Another toy line cartoon . . . *sigh*
Well, at least it's something for DAS, and Nerd Corps usually provides decent animation so it'll be nice to look at.

Darn it. I wanted a conclusion to Hot Wheels AcceleRacers storyline. Guess now we not gonna get one  .

What other shows has Nerd Corps done besides Storm Hawks??
And whether it's good or not, I'm not watching this, because I absolutely despise toy line cartoons.

They did a Jetix series called...I forget. Something about dragon riders.
EDIT: Remembered the name. It was called Dragon Booster.

The second I saw "a Jetix show", I immediately realized that it was going to stink. And when you said the name, I was ensured.

To be fair, it was the first show they ever did.

And rather have the second season of Storm Hawks...
But let me get this straight... CN picked up the rights to this show and Thumb Wrestling Federation instead of renewing One Piece. That's just not right... I was willing to forgive them for banking so much on Clone Wars because that was a sure bet but the US is denied the rest of Skypiea and beyond for these and probably some other crap? I can't begin to tell you what a poor choice that is.
Though I'm sure both with do well for a time and then fizzle out like most action oriented acquisitions do for CN.
You know, I vaguely enjoyed Acceleracers, I'll give this a try.

Sigh, my thoughts exactly. Seems like a waste to give us a huge cliffhanger then never continue it. Oh well...I'll give the new one a shot since Acceleracers was good enough (though nothing tops World Race).

Oh, I was wondering whether or not AcceleRacers was of my imagination. Don't remember a cliffhanger though.

As I recall...*been a while since I've seen it*
After Vert wins the race and saves everybody he ends up in the Silencerz base, where it is revealed that one of them is his father. We never find out who they work for or what they plan to do with Vert and his powers as The AcceleRacer.
So yeah, it was a pretty huge cliffhanger. =\

This Blog (http://www.collectiondx.com/article/nytf09_mattel_hot_wheels_battle_force_5) has some pictures of toys that are based upon the series, but more importantly, there are some pictures behind the toys that could provide some insight as to what the characters will look like and so forth. I thought I’d post this for those who are interested. It also looks like Cartoon Network is going to get a cut of the profits from the toys, as the boxes have a CN logo on it.

The cars look cool, but the designs and animation seems really bland.

Well there is ONE female in the primary cast, but you have to look really hard to notice her identifying features.
(This implies a species that lays eggs)
