Well I am new here on the Toon Zone boards, so I figured I would break the ice by discussing the current state of the good ol' CN. First off, I have got to say that CN has really suprised me as of late, first they dump Toonami, then they begin to change their look all the time and now they aggressivly over play their original programming to the point of playing the same program four or five times in a row. Even after all of those things they are doing wrong, I still can't turn away! The new look with the little paint men (Noods), the new Action Flicks and You are Here weekend combo and the addition of some great new shows has my face smiling from end to end. I guess no station can be perfect and thats fine, and I can live with CN as it is right now. If you could make some changes that you think would help the company, what would you do? Please don't say something like "I think they should play ____ because it's an awesome show!" Try to think of what CN would benefit from, profit wise, what would be the best moves to help ratings, money, marketing ect, ect. Let's hear it!

Advertise shows on [Adult Swim], make saturdays all anime.

Get rid of the dynamite action squad. I'd say restart the rising sun but let's keep tings realistic.

Put Alvin and The Chipmunks on the network. Cartoon Network owns the rights, and the movie was recently successful. Plus, Looney Tunes should be put on for the sake that it's always been a popular franchise with kids. Plus, Tom and Jerry should be moved to a timeslot where more kids watch.

I'd say bring Totally Spies, Yu-Gi-Oh GX and the older Pokemon episodes back on the network since they are at least willing to air them at all.

I'd also go for reacquiring Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003). It has an episode count that lends itself to weekday airings, and would work with the action alongside Star Wars Clone Wars and Batman The Brave And The Bold.

And for the time being, I would see about airing the three Transformers anime (Armada/Energon/Cybertron) for mornings and move Transformers Animated to the action block as again it's big named show.

They really need more variety in their schedule.

Personally I hate all their new shows its all **** (ecept for Chowder and Billy and Mandy) But otherwise crap. The Cartoon Network of the 90s to early 2000's was awesome I think they need a block deticated to the old shool cartoon network from back in the day take and hour or two to show thier old stuff like Dexters Lab, Power Puff Girls, Samuri Jack, Jhonny Bravo, I am Weasle, Cow and Chcicken.....ext ext.....

Variety filled schedule- Marathons should be limited to 2 hrs on Sunday, where shows that get less air time can have their time to shine. The rest of the schedule should have a relatively equal distribution of shows for a wider demographic, this will bring in more viewers.

Animated films- There are plenty of successful animated films that have made their way into the highest ranks of children's entertainment, movies like Shrek. Why not air some of those in comparison to the second-rate live action movies they've aired like Racing Stripes?

Stronger blocks- blocks like Toonami and CCF used to have unique and welcoming feels because 1) they lasted relatively long and 2) they had well constructed bumps with constantly interacting hosts. These blocks did well because they had a special feel about them. Nowadays blocks start, show their shows, say we'll be right back or we're back, and then end. No host, no theme song, no special perks.

Use your library Turner!!!- Time Warner has the largest animation library in the world, and the majority of it's library is in turn owned by Turner. Turner owns pretty much the entire Hanna-Barbera library and a little bit of the Ruby-Spears library (Alvin and the Chipmunks), a good deal of the MGM library, and all of the pre-1948 Looney Tunes shorts. And they don't have to pay to air any of it. Most of those shows have been proven successes with children, and those who this generation have yet to see, why not experiment for a bit? To this generation of kids, all of these cartoons are new. You don't use any money by airing them, and you gain money if their popular. That's the ultimate profit.

Seconded. Abolishing live-action is also something I'd like to see them do.

:D The old gray mare...SHe ain't what she used to be, ain't waht she used to be......But seriously. 1. CN SHould show reruns of DB/DBZ from Q1-Q3 09 to make money off the movie...I mean lets face it even if the movie sucks...Little kids will still be inticed enough to watch the show.

2. Show some classic toons all ages can enjoy like ALvin in the Chipmunks, Scooby doo & Animaniacs

3. Superhero wise, Shows like Batman,JLU & Freakazoid should still be able to hold kids attention

4. For the older fans. Bring back a anime block to the network, Somthing that would show some of the good stuff like Naruto: SHippuden, Dr.Slump, One piece & Mabye even some classics like Gundem, yuyuhakasho or kenshin.

5. it would'nt hurt to show things like Dexter, PPG, Johhny bravo * ed, edd N eddy ever now & then.

Third for variety. They are so many other shows they could fill time with. Don't go the Nick and Disney, go the CN way! :D

How is it that most members within the first dozen posts say this?

But yeah, destroying the minimal and easily replaced live action.

Resurrecting the boomerang block on a day not in use(sundays?) with some older toons and anime would be cool.

I say Saturday afternoon should be all action. Megas, juniper lee, IGPX, Samurai jack, powerpuff girls, the secret saturdays, maybe transformers animated...

That would cost them the whole of nothing now that I think about it.
