This was a good episode. Suzaku puts himself in a no win situations, the Brittanna people look down on him and smug toward him, while the Japanese think of him as a sell out. I don't get his thinking, he must really believe in his philosphy to be known as the ultimate traitor amoung his own people.

The battle at the end, it is not the greatest action on the show, they have done better in the past and will do better in the future. But it surfed purpose. The end of season 1 battle, now that is great action.

Euphie is one of my favorite characters reguardless of whose side you root for. I admire that fact she keeps putting herself into danger, even though she has no combat training what so ever. Unlike of her siblings (Nunnally among the exceptions obviously), she has no training for fighting at all. Either she is very brave, or very stupid, probably a little bit of both. That is why I call her the dare devil princess.

Next episode should be even more fun, especially for the censors. I can't wait to see how they censor it.

Till next episode, bye.

Ah.

The better intro for this song.

Especially that Suzaku-Lelouche positive-negative symbolism thing.

EDIT: Now I'm going to have to wait a week to see what the heck just happened.

But here's a little theory I've been kicking around for awhile to explain some of it:

Lelouche's dad augmented C2 so that she can't die, ergo, he did the same thing to Lelouche's brother.

lulz Diethard. He's like the male fangirl
"you cant change the world without getting your hands dirty" - understatement of the year.

Suzaku begins his decent into flipfloppyness. /rolls eyes. First sign of a bad move? nobody but Lloyd claps for you. He honestly frustrates the hell out of me, and still does too. Don't you just want to smack him? Speaking of Lloyd, lol. He brightens my day.
Shut up Ougi. Nobody cares what you have to say.

Yeah I know. He betrays his own people, for people who don't like him and look down at him. Both Brittannas and Japanese agree, they don't like him. To one race of people, he is an lowly Eleven, who is below class, to the other race of people, he is Benerdick Arnold, a traitor, a sell out.

Well, I can understand that he's kind of got a goal which led to the betrayal of his people [work from the inside, out?]... but in the process he's still at this point of that whole 'I need to redeem myself for killing my father and deserve this' tangent.
"I should sacrifice myself!" -because that really accomplished alot, genius.
Suzaku keeps digging his own hole. Lelouch is so right about him not listening to his heart.

On the "new" opening: Don't know why they change the opening images every few eps but it's okay. I think the other one fit better with the music though and really it's weird how much mishmashing they're doing with new and old stuff. Now for the actual ep itself...

I'm pretty sure that if there was any episode that warranted a reason to be able to skip time to see the next episode right away it'd be this one. It's a pretty awesome set up actually: just as the missles of the launched fleet are being destroyed another ship coming in, the personal ship of another member of the royal family (some high ranking pretty boy prince who defintley won't go down easy like Clovis) comes and is about to fire it's death canon. Kallen rushes to the scene to reveal herself to Suzaku, who is still holding Zero/Lelouch under gun fire just as he's about to use his Geass. Euphemia's also rushing to the scene in a stolen Knightmare and for some reason C.C's doing... uh something or other. I mean really this is a pretty epic ending: Not since the infamous 60 seconds Death Note series finale have I anticpated such another episdoe coming of a show, and unlike Death note 36 this actually had a whole bunch of other interesting stuff besides just building up suspense: Suzaku being knighted and partied, Diethard trying to build up his cred in the drama by ordering Suzaku's death through Kallen, C.C questioning why can't Lelouch just geass Suzaku, the party thrown by the student coucnil being sort of crashed by Lloyd (who gives info to "table kun but otherwise people still hate me" Nina) and then the whole big attack at the very end. Despite a sort of slow and confusing opening and a whole bunch of big political speeches and kind of improbable moments I have to applaud Code Geass for delievering such high thrills and character moments in every ep and this is just another example of that. The kind of captalts this to one of the best eps of the show yet. I just hope that things are resolved well and there's no random dues ex machinas to save Lelouch or try and change the whole thing he's about to do to Suzaku. Be kind of lame of things just went back to the same after this ep but we'll see that next time. Good stuff here.

EDIT: Change the character's names to they're right spelling since someone called me out on getting the names wrong. Sorry for that I guess.

I love Euphie. I love Suzaku. I love them together. Good times :p

I feel so bad for Suzaku when all the nobles just glare at him as he is knighted. "Even a princess has needs." So terrible.

I love when C.C. asks Lelouch why he won't Geass Suzaku. "Is it because he's your friend? Or is it your pride?" "All of it." The delivery of those three words really stuck out to me for some reason. Really well done.

"Discrimination against the numbers is our national policy." "Then it's time for me to change that." Go Euphie!

Lloyd rules. "Honey-bunch." Brilliant XD

I love Lelouch luring Suzaku into the trap and then trying to convince Suzaku to work with him. That exchange is intense. And then Suzaku gets the horrible order to basically kill himself in order to get to Zero. I loved the delivery of Lelouch's line about Suzaku not following his heart. So true.

And I love Euphie for putting herself in danger in an attempt to protect him. Suzaku wants to protect her and she wants to protect him. Cuuute.

Uh oh, looks like Lelouch is going to have to use the Geass to save both their skins (not to mention Kallen, who got herself involved) after all.

Schneizel sighting!

I agree Euphie is awsome. She puts herself in danger even though she has no combat training at all. She is just like a person off the streets doing these cool things. That is what makes it so impressive to me.

If Karen or Cornella, did the same thing it is not as impressive, it is sort of expected out of them, because they have training in that type of stuff. You get my point? That is why she is the dare devil princess. Weather you agree or disagree with her choices and beliefs, she is awsome.

What I am about to say it just for laughs, there is no political motivation. But I loved that sketch, and this show is about war, this thought occured to me.

One person who could bring peace between Brittannna and Japanese, is the one, the choose one. The man that brought peace between Popye and Bluto, Seinfeld and Newman. Barock Obama, He completes us. LOL

I am of the completely opposite opinion. I prefer this version.Exactly. I've always liked this version better and prayed that they would put it in the dub, and now they have.

The 1st version was probably the worst video for an anime opening of all time. The scenes were just randomly put together to keep beat with the song, but had no meaning. Some were slowed down. Some were sped up. It's a mess.

This version though goes down in my books as the best video for an anime opening, go figure. Seriously, watch it and tell me that near the end, it doesn't get to an "OMFDATSCRAZY!" level and keep a straight face about it.:D Pretty much perfect synchronization with scenes that actually do connect with each other in a way.

He's incredulous that she's picking a member of a different race to be a knight, and yet this guy is just a sheltered high school student that doesn't even have a fraction of Suzaku's accomplishments. It's incredibly arrogant.

I really like the opening. Action in the actiony parts, and nice imagery otherwise.

Hooray, Suzaku got knighted. As usual, Lloyd is a massive explosion of awesome. Poor Rivalz looked like someone whacked him in the face with a brick.

Yaaaaay battle scenes! "blah blah blah something about Suzaku being an Eleven" "...You do realize you're criticizing a member of royalty, right?" was a nice "owned" moment.

Ooh, Suzaku's trapped. Lelouch really sounded evil there. However, Euphie comes to the rescue! ...wait, something about this seems off. Oh joy, the huge orange thing with the giant cannons comes. Aaaand...cliffhanger.

A nice episode, humorous at the beginning and battle-tastic at the end.

This mecha has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.

China, Europe and Britannia are the three major superpowers. Cool.

Man, Kallen sure doesn't have a problem with killing her "friends" when she has to. First it was Lelouch, and now Suzaku. Pretty tense episode, especially towards the end when Darth Vader tried to get Luke Skywalker to turn to the dark side. Oh, wait...

Loved this episode. Love how Lloyd came to Suzaku's aid at the coronation of his Knighthood and his presence in this episode all together. He really doesn't know how to talk to human beings unless it's about science, xD

Otherwise, I do enjoy this version of the opening moreso than the last. Still a huge fan of FLOW, but this is alright.

Ya but did you notice that Knight with the scar that clapped second had a 'when your back is turned I'm gonna' mess you up, boy' look.

This is an alternate time line were all the high powered stuff seems to be powered by something other that nuclear power and the bespectacled table molesting girl just told Lloyd the key bit of information you need to know to make a nuclear bomb. It really does seem that they don't have those things and Britiana doesn't seem to be the type to hold back with a few tactical nukes here and there. Does no one else besides me find that extremely significant?

A very good eppy in my opinion, from beginning to end. Points of interest were the Knighting of Suzaku (scar guy did stand out very much so), and the revelation that the head lesbian at school is 'betrothed' to one of the manliest men in the series (and for those who disagree, Lloyd had proved again and again how much he rules just thru shear will power of his words).

Speaking of Lloyd, did anyone else get a little creeped out with him taking off his glasses to stare at 'table-kun' girl when she was explaining fision? I seriously got a super bad guy vibe there (No spoilers please).

The end battle was pretty intense, with Suzaku knowingly going into that trap, and everyone thinking they got it (with the pipe smoking woman actually finishing it). Seriously, I am starting to think she is the female Lloyd (which isn't a bad thing). Now, if only we can get to next week already (not only to have another weekend) so we can see how things panned out. Was Kallen seen (by anyone?), did Suzaku get Gaessed, how did everyone survive, and who is the new member of royalty to go on Zero's hit list?

On a side note, Little princess (can't spell her name) was very good. To me, she is the flip side of Suzaku. One has a belief and skills to back it up, but no power or say-so to have others just listen to him, and the other has the belief and power to make others take notice, but no skillz other than to get into a position to be resuced. Seriously, the reason to have a personal Knight would be to protect you from harm, not to go and protect him.

Waiting for next week.

But I'm an actual female so through that line of logic I'd understand the behavior of other females much better than a male would. I know when to draw the line between yaoi and just plain old crack pairings. Fantasy /=/ real life. It's like me trying to persuade the people of this thread that Lelouch is actually gay just because he's childhood friends with Suzaku.

Males eyes: group of females showering together = lesbians
Females eyes: group of females showing together = friendly showering session.

Milly isn't bisexual. Now Nina on the other hands might produce different results...

Yes please. I apologize for starting a page long argument off subject. Just to clarify, I was under my impressions from the first episode on how Mily acted towards Shirley, (and to a lesser degree, Nina). I tend to take things a little more literal than I should, I suppose, but I by no means wanted to start an off topic discussion about the behaviours of men and women other than those in this show.

I maybe a guy but I have to agree. Girls are far less homophobic than guys, at least in america. Did you know in other parts of the world that kissing on the check is a standard greeting so its common among guys. Milly might push the limits but shes not too strange.
