C&C - Shin Chan - "Episode 46" [8/30]

In Case You Forgot: Grandfather Knows Best - Another sequel of "Grandfather Knows Best". Grandfather Yoshi stays over at the Nohara's until his grandchildren are properly matured.

P--ter Tutor - Yonro visits the Nohara's once again and tutors Shin. Yonro transforms into the Yonro 5000. This reminds me of that DBZ episode where Gohan's tutor carries a whip.

The D----r Saga: Trials of False Mother - Shin (AKA D----r) learns kendo.

In Case Your Forgot: Grandpa Knows Best - this was an okay episode. Hiro and Yoshi fighting over the tv was funny. This was the weakest one of the three, so it was best that it was the first episode.

Pooter Tutor - Yondro one of my favorite loser characters. The beginning when the narriator said the clam before the monster showed up. Mitzi reactios to the thought of Shin going away for a while, that was hillarous. The ending of Yondro using girly magazine to teach Shin was typical Shin humor.

The ----- Sage: Trails Of Falsemother - This was my favorite of all three. The weird teaching of the Kento teacher was awsome. Mitzi reaction were funny, as was Shin's comment about thinking stuff only the audiance can hear. Mitzi letting out her agreesion at the end and the teacher's comment about Mitzi being a natural. But the best part of this episode, is they are doing an arc, and they will most likely be airing the Kentro tournament two parter next week. I can't wait to see that.

Note: All of the episodes were Shin's family life centric, Mitzi and Hima appeared in all three episodes, Hiro appeared in two of the three. None of Shin's classmates or teachers appeared at all. I am not complaning, just stating a fact that all of the episode selections were very similar.

In Case You Forgot: Grandfather Knows Best - Grandfather Yoshi couldn't stand of letting Shin and Hiro watching live reality swimsuit shows. The episode was a little better.

P--ter Tooter - I don't have anything much else to say about this segment.

"In Case You Forgot: Grandfather Knows Best" - I'm guessing this is the follow up to last week's ep with Mother Grandpa (like I said that's what I'm calling Mitzy's father since we know Shin has another grandpa so saying "Shin's Grandpa" could get confusing) shows up and berates Mitzy for Shin's beahvior. This time he gets to call out Hiro for coming home and drinking and watching vulgar TV before dinner with Shin. Which I guess is funny in theory but really this is one of those where things didn't really click. Personally I think Whity's line was the funniest thing here and I only sort of chuckled at that. Maybe it's just that Shin's mother grandpa needs to be balanced out with the far wackier father grandfather to be funny or seeing someone just react more confused to Shin's antics kind of gets old after awhile. This also didn't have the more satifying ending that the last one had though Hiro and Grandpa annoyed at each other was kind of a fun idea even if very little of it played out due to the time limit. Overall a pretty weak skit really. Maybe the writers were getting burned out by the time they were writing the eps so late into the season but not one of they're strongest efforst.

"Pooeter Tutor" - Another post crappy apartment Yanaro ep. This time he gets to try and Tutor shin when it's revealed he's once again Broke. Personally I prefer Yanaro when he's more full to the brim on nerd refrences. This time just had some Klingon and a mention of Hyrule (and the Naniko doll having Vulcan ears and hobbit feet thinking about it) for the bigger nerd refs and more focused on Yanaro trying to teach Shin which was actually pretty entertaining. Mainly getting him to help clean out when talking about the Naniko doll and using softcore porn to try and teach Shin about math though that led to kind of a lame clich end when Mitzy found out about them. Oh well at least there were some more solid laughs here then there was in the last ep even if it is weird seeing two Shin at home segments like this in a row. This one is different then the last one though but while decent still isn't too great.

"The *****r Saga: Trials Of Falsemother" - Probably the strongest segment of the episode. In truth I thoguht some of the other *****r and teach segments were weak but this one actually finds more humor with Mitzy around then when it was just Shin and his paranoid teacher. Afterall it's funnier to have someone be there to see the insnaity and react to it then to just have the insanity in the forefront (well it depends. On BoBoBo the whole reactions to insanity kind of got monotonous but on the more normal Shin Chan it works). Anyway highlights here include the connection between the previous ep with Yanaro and Shin cleaning the room only for it to be messy again, Shin talking about how crazy his teacher is and Mitzy falling through the wooden floor (and remarking on doing it a lot later on), teacher and Shin exchanging the strangle sluterous story and song and dance, Mitzy hitting the sword and Shin remarking on her "saying things on the auidence can here" and the end with Hiro watching his family and saying "I wonder if they'll notice. I'm going to the bar". Those two are definite the funniest lines here and help save what could of been a weak ep. As it stand a pretty strong segment even if took a bit to really get going.

Overall started out rather weak and then ended good making this... well fairly medicore really but hey at least it's a passable effort of Shinness.
