You know despite the constant swearing and overabundence of gore shots, there is actually a lot of interesting plots to be found in some Metalocaylpse ep. And since this is a two parter they really get a chance to rise to the occassion. By having the new leader of Snake and Barrels be this big soberity whore who wants everyone to be miserable since he has to be clean. Personally I'm pretty pro sober but that dosen't mean people who find enjoyable of drinking and do it responsiblity shouldn't be entitled to. Really though that wasn't the message of this ep. I think the message was that you can't make a cocain filled clown go to a drugless life, you shouldn't try and take away Pickles band and you shouldn't screw with Toki. I was kind of expecting him to get it from Murderface but really the annoying screamer in the ground deserved it far more so seeing Toki really loose and wail on him was a nice surprise as was Murderface's reactions. In truth though besides some of Dr. Rockso's dream freakouts and the new S&B leader being a d*** because of not wanting to be sober there really weren't many laughs that weren't Deathklok focused. They did a lot of funny bits: Pickles throwing his remote at the TV, Pickles and Toki smashing through lamps and the manager wanting them to smash the crappy Ikea lamps, Murderface wanting to know about owning planet piss and Nathan wanting to know about earning Deathklok, the band being confused when Pickles asked them where Snakes and Barrels are (I also notice how the scenes are longer then usual due to it being a two parter which is good since the whole opening Dethklok scene was a pretty good length), Toki taking over Planetpiss's domain name. Pickles explanation on the history of rock and roll and Nathan and the others agreeing everyone in LA is stupid (which you know is pretty true, drugs or not), the lame disguses to go and see Snake and barrels and Nathan warning the two vendors not to f*** with him about alcholol. Great stuff though really there could of been more humor in the actual plot itself. The 22 minute time frame actually does work as well as the 11 minute and nothing really felt padded or added (besides some of the tension built towards the finale) but then again I guess that's always been the problem with dethklok: there are a lot of dry plot moving moments in addition the more gorey comedic stuff. Still good two part effort though.

It was twice as long as normal.
Is that a one time thing, or are they going to do it like this from now on?

I absolutely loved it. The last few minutes were hilarious, especially with the tension of knowing what was about to happen with everyone. Nathan beating up those two guys and Toki going psycho were the best.

Good stuff. A lot of moments that played out for too long, which honestly, I find funny. Like the lamp smashing sequence and Murderface wasting the managers time with Planet Piss.
I loved that part where Toki registered Planet Piss. Then to have Murderface find out. And he was so pissed off, and went to hunt down and kill Toki. Just to have Toki go psycho on that one annoying fan. Murderface's reaction was priceless.

No lamps were harmed during the taping of this episode.
The Los Angeles sea port. Never will you find a more wretched hive of sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll.
This is so building up to something.
Pickles is sour, Murderface is on the rampage, Toki's off his rocker and Rockso's back off the wagon.
And classic Metalocalypse ending. It cuts to the end logos when it's just getting good!

Wondered how long it was going to take Dr. Rockso to fall off the wagon - he's back, baby ...
And Toki snapping was hilarious. He was even worse then when he turned his back on children and tried to act demonic. Hell, he even scared Murderface this time out.

Since no one answered this I thought I should.

There are only three episodes left in season two. It is unknown how season three will be done, but I do know that of the three episodes, "Dethrecord" (the next episode) is a regular 11 minute but the season finale "Dethrelease" is another twice as long two parter episode that will close out Season 2. If there's a season three and the gang feels they have more long form stories they can tell I'm sure we'll have more of these two parter around. They can tell a good amount of story in the time of a two parter so if there's stories that need telling there's the option of doing that thanks to this episode raising that bar.
Not for anything, but while I enjoyed this episode a great deal, I don't think Metalocolaypse would really benefit from consistent 30 minute episodes. It's humor is more in line with old-school AS's breakneck pace and dragging it out too long would hurt it.

I agree with this. I felt 30 min episodes hurt Powerpuff Girls, and I think if they do it for Metalocalypse there just wouldn't be enough there to fill out 30 minutes without boring the audience to death...or at least bore me.
But then again, I did rather enjoy this episode. So who knows.

My only real gripe about this episode is that the lamp-breaking scene lasted waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long. Everything else was awesome, though.
