No, Sci-Fi and Starz picked it up, so [AS] couldn't air it (probably this is why they don't air GitS or GitS:SAG a lot anymore).

Naw-there's not enough of a fan demand for it-it was back on for 2 weeks and was dropped from their schedule.

well, ratings probably had something to do with it, since they were really low when it was added and it was the odd man out I guess

Plus why would Adult Swim air a series that they already reran several times that would help promote the series on the other network. It's like Nick airing Doug when Disney got it, it doesn't make much sense (at least unless it gets good ratings)

They ran 1st and 2nd Gig a while ago.

Someones AS doesn't always aqcuire rights to a movie based on a said series.

They did the opposite once with R.O.D.- showed the film and not the series.

Oh, it's a movie, my bad

[as] doesn't really run any movies, and probably GitS didnt do as well as somethin like Inyuasha or FMA to consider picking it up or somethin like that

Yeah the Late TechTv got the right to R.O.D Tv while AS got the film.

No. And we've specified otherwise several times. It's not airing because another channel has it. That's all there is to it.

Also, the first series is called "Stand Alone Complex". Not "1st Gig".

GITS:SAC 1st Gig was first season-GITS:SAC 2nd Gig was second season.

But the point is, the first season doesn't have 1st Gig attached to the name. It's just Stand Alone Complex.

But, that makes it more confusing. People often attach a number to the first in a series even though it doesn't actually have a number. I mean, people refer to Rocky as Rocky I and Superman as Superman I. It just makes it less confusing since if you didn't have the number people would wonder which one you were referring to.

[AS] is not worried about Standards If A Show like like tim & eric great job Awesome Show or something like that..

If that show can pass [AS] program standards, then why can't G.I.T.S.: S.S.S. be shown?

While I will tell you why it is not a question of programming standards, more of judgement in other words I think [AS] hates anime period..

Which sucks, So Therefore I am glad another channel more quaifiled to show has gotten the right to it..

They showed Cowboy Bebop: The Movie on AS.

That was kind of risque.

I'm guessing SSS has graphic nudity in it.

I don't remember anything TOO graphic in SSS...

And it took them ilke four years to air the Bebop movie, and they didn't even air it that many times, so... I wouldn't use it as an example.

It was never a question of program standards. [adult swim] never acquired the movie, though they could have. Since they didn't acquire the rights to air the movie, then Starz and Sci Fi picked it up and put it on Ani-Monday. They didn't announce SSS for Ani-Monday for roughly 6 months, so it was solely [adult swim] deciding not to pick up the movie that led to it not being on [adult swim]. The same thing has happened to FMA: Conqueror of Shabalba, but it has never aired on TV, not even FUNimation Channel.

Well, it might not have a been a decision to pick it up, it might have just more than they could afford. It wouldn't be the first time an anime's price tag has ended up for one reason or another outside of the price range AS could afford (they were outbid on Samurai 7 by IFC for example.)
