I'm on an ATHF kick right now, and just plucked down $$$ for the Volume 2 DVD, and I just got finished though watching Baffler Meal, but there's one thing I don't quite get.

It was a Space Ghost episode that the Aqua Teens were created for, but for whatever reason, the actual episode was scripted but wasn't used and animated until three years after the ATHF show proper had been created. That much I get. But what I don't get is...

Are the primordial versions of the Teens in Baffler Meal the original intended vision for the characters? Were the designs done at the same time as the script? Did the WS people intend for Master Shake and Frylock to sound and sort of act like what ended up being the Mooninites? Or is the final Baffler Meal some kind of Spinal Tap-esque fictional pilot for the characters that has no basis in the original conception?

I know I won't get an answer, but It should make for some interesting discussion.

You mean the Baffler Meal appeared on Space Ghost C2C?

I think it was based on the original vision of the characters circa 1998 when Matt and Dave first wrote the script. They wanted Baffler Meal to appear to be a "lost episode" from the 98 season, (despite the fact it wasn't actually animated till 2001).

Interesting that Master Shake became ignignot, Frylock became Clarence from the Brack Show, meatwad wasn't nearly as suicidally depressed once Baffler Meal became ATHF.
