Thank you Adult Swim for this news. I'm enjoying the show so far, so I'm happy its still continuing on AS.

So no break between the two seasons? Just a straight shot through?

Back in the day, they probably would've held off for six months, but running series straight through seems to be par for the course for [as] anime these days.

Anyway, was there really any doubt about this? [as] never drops a relatively short anime series midway through its runs.

Pilot Candidate, Yuyu Hakusho, Outlaw Star. Granted, all of those were way back in the day (and YYH went to Toonami) but still . . .

Not to mention Geass has been performing mediocre-to-bad in the ratings.

Fine with me. I have the memory of a goldfish.

So no break between the two seasons? Just a straight shot through? If so, first time viewers are very, very lucky considering the cliffhanger at the end of season one ><

Glad to hear that it will continue, though. R2 hasn't been quite as good as season 1, but with the end drawing closer, it's getting a lot better.

And YYH is 112 episodes... wouldn't call that "relatively short" unless you were comparing it to One Piece or something.

Ughhhh yes. It's probably best this way considering the wait was excruciating for those of us who watched the sub- and even if it doesn't start up right after, it would probably only be a short break until. I'm interested to see a more bigger scale reaction to the changes in R2 compared to season 1. I figured adultswim would grab this, but it's good to know for sure.

Terrific! I remember a while back all the Geass fans were squirming in anticipation for R2...so I'm glad I don't have to deal with it.

...and boy did they squirm. It must be a hell of a cliffhanger. ;)

Personally, I was worried the ratings might not have been good enough to warrant the 2nd season airing here on AS, but it's good news if it will indeed air right after the 1st season ends.

You have NO idea. Fans following the series for the first time on TV are supremely lucky. Well done Adult Swim, and well done Bandai for staying on top of the dub.

I do wonder if they'll use the TV version of R2 and not the DVDs (which they are using for season one), when they haven't even started their release in Japan.

And yes, that is indeed a blessing for Adult Swim viewers.

And yes, that is indeed a blessing for Adult Swim viewers. They'd most likely use the masters meant for an eventual DVD release. Apparently, an alternate version of CG R2 has been airing on Japanese cable TV channel, AT-X which has nudity and other things not on the original over-the-air broadcasts. There is a picture of naked CC from a specific episode floating around on some websites that confirms this (the Japanese over-the-air broadcasts of this specific scene had her body covered up). I believe there also may be a pic of naked Kallen from the R2 season taken from the AT-X cable version.

I remember the CC scene, those masters might look better in some ways (though that's more about censorship than anything else, and AFAIK, I haven't heard of any non-photoshopped Kallen scenes), but DVDs usually have additional animation fixes or changes...that shouldn't be on AT-X, or should they? Unless they're doing those in tandem with the main airing, to air them on AT-X shortly afterwards (or however that works). In any case, thanks for your reply.

The first R2 DVD comes out August 22nd in Japan. I think it's safe to assume the DVD masters are ready and will be used for the broadcast on [as].
