Hi. Maybe I missed part of the pilot episode, but why was Chains after Gemberling to begin with? Why was there a bounty on Gemberling? Who sent Chains after him-Gemberling's boss, or the "man in the black robe"? Who is the CEO? Someone please tell me-I'm confused.

Has anyone here seen the pilot? I remember Gemberling pouring beer on the computer to get back at his boss and getting sucked in the computer, and then this evil man in black did the same thing to go after him-why?

The Boss Is "The Man In The Black Robe". They're both the same people it's just that The Man In The Black Robe is the Boss's evil form. He sent Chains after Gemberling since he knew Gemberling was the savior of the internet and would ruin his evil plans of taking over the internet. So he counted on Chains to take out Gemberling but didn't count on Chains being so... weird and actually sort of becoming friends with Gemberling. But he did sent out Chains to kill Gemberling. That much was clear in Chains introduction scene.

I'm guessing that in this universe you can actually be transported into the internet by having beer spilit on the computer and being electrically transported there due to the wet circurity. It's the kind of stuff that'd never work in real life but since this is a show where the main character has a destiny of saving the internet by being inside the internet you have to stretch realibity pretty far. Chains and The Evil Man in Black/the boss did it in order to go after Gemberling. Chains because Gemberling was his bounty and the Evin Boss in Black because he realized Chains was incomptent and wouldn't get Gemberling like he was suppose to.

Hope that clears up some of your questions. Oh and BTW try not to double post in the future. Looks kind of tacky IMHO.

Kazaa and the CEO are the same person?

In the credits:

Kazaa (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kazaa) (Victor Varnado (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victor_Varnado)) - Bad guy of the Internet.
C.E.O. (John Gemberling) - CEO (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CEO) of Ynapmoclive Interactive, an evil company.

Didn't the CEO witness Kazaa pour beer on the computer?

How did he know Gemberling was inadvertantly going to save the net?

1. You're mixing these two people up actually. Kazaa was the effeninite high pitched guy who kidnapped Bit and Byte in the very first episode. He was also a being who only exisited in the internet. Once Gemerbeling took him out (after Kazaa took out the old guy) Kazza was never seen from again since he died in the first episode. He was mentioned in episode 9 by the two gates but it was mentioned by the liar that he was DJing at his party so anything he said was a lie anyway about Kazaa being alive and such.

The C.E.O is a different character (one also played by Gemberling). Who is the head of the evil company who like Gemberling and Chains was shown in the real world and the internet. The C.E.O is the one who hired Chains to find Gemberling and when he felt Chains wasn't up to the task of taking out Gemberling went after him himself at the end of the first episode. He's the main villian of the show who like Gemberling and Chains got to the internet by spilling beer on the computer (which a random WORKER saw, not an important character) and has been seen taking over Byte and in episode 8 ordering one of his henchmen around and wathcing Gemberling and Chains take off on the worm. He and Kazaa are different characters and I hope that helps you out.

2. How did The Evil C.E.O know that Gemberling was the chosen one? I guess he heard about the propehcy that has been stated by random people on the internet about it. Sometimes villians know the propehcies of the heroes and go out of the way to take out the heroes before they complete the prophecies. Like how Devimon and Myotismon of Digimon found out about the propehecy of them being defeated by the 7th and 8th Digidestined (respecitvley) and trying to take them out before they could fufill said prophecy. Hope that answers your question.

So that nerd with the glasses Gemberling spat on and ridiculed was a random worker?
