Wait, I know the latter three are true, but a Brule spinoff? Is that confirmed?

Yes, AS had it in one of its cards tonight.

Doesn't John C. Riley have a career so he doesn't have to do this kind of stuff?
This has prolly already been posted, but Family Guy Full Episodes are now streaming

Yes. There's two Tim and Eric interviews floating around that also confirm this. It also sounds like they plan to end Awesome Show at 50 episodes.

First week of the change, and the numbers are still low. Box Office looks to have hurt the night again.

Aside from FG, Sunday numbers still are low, ouch.
Looks like the UFC scores another KO against ASA (to counter the airing of an EliteXC show on CBS, Spike reran Sean Sherk vs. BJ Penn). Dammit, this just isn't fair.
And the Family Guy ratings train continues to bowl through all in its path. Too bad all the other shows don't get a bump.

The Saturday card said "Changes Imminent." Time to put Inuyasha back as the lead-in. Like it or not, it appears IY does bring people in to watch on Satudays, moreso than Shin Chan. Unless they do the now-unthinkable and start actually promoting the Saturday lineup during the week or run Family Guy or American Dad as the Saturday lead-in. (^_*)

I still see it as a total failure. I mean Shin Chan was brining in 300k numbers even at its 1.30 time slot. Its given the royal treatment appearing at 11 and it did worse than 176k?!?
Last Saturdays ratings better be good, or it may lose its time!

I thought it was 40? Especially with the 2nd season ending at episode 40

In honor of classic night, I decided to include some extra CB quotes. I actually forgot all about classic night, but I have the CB Remix DVDs so I took the lines from there. Also, I've decided to put these quotes in spoiler tags from now on so it won't take up too much space unless you click on them. First, the Cowboy Bebop lines:
Ep 1
Jet: Asimov Solensan, he’s our next target.
Spike: Uh, listen Jet.
Jet: This guy’s a major player in the Syndicate, operates all around the asteroids.
Spike: You said bell peppers and beef.
Jet: His name’s Asimov Solensan. Are you listening to me?
Spike: There’s no beef in here. So you wouldn’t really call it bell peppers and beef, now would you?
Jet: Yes, I would.
Spike: Well it’s NOT!!
Jet: It is when you’re broke, all right?
Spike: What happened to the million woolong reward we got for that last guy?
Jet: The repair bill for that cruiser you wrecked, and the one from that shop you trashed, and the medical bill from the cop you injured KILLED THE DOUGH!
Ep 2
Spike: Get down! No dogs on the table! *Ein shakes off water all over Spike* That’s cold! That’s why I said I didn’t want any stray mongrel mutts in here!
Jet: But you’re the one who brought him here. Anyways, we gotta do something about the ticks.
Spike: Ticks now?! Let’s just salt him and eat him!
And now for the lines of Saturday:
Shin Chan
Narrator: Deep in the Valley of the Crescent of the Desert of the Sparrow of the Goddess of the Moon of the Crystal Skull, two Golden Crispy warriors prepare to anticipate.
Shin: Fight Fight!
Hiro: Sword of the Darkness Flame!!
Bleach
Ririn: There’s a good chance that we can follow the Bounts’ reishi residue.
Ichigo: Wait are you sure?
Ririn: Yeah, but it is frustrating. My powers would be stronger if I were in a gigai. Unfortunately, the real bodies of us mod souls are just little pills. We can’t walk or even speak unless someone helps us by putting us into a gigai.
Ichigo: Hmm…you know what? There’s something I’ve always wondered about. If you need someone else, why don’t you all just put each other into gigais?
Ririn, Noba and Kurodo: Uh…Uh-uh…Mmm…
*They hurry up and follow Ichigo's suggestion*
Ririn: Big deal! I didn’t need him to come up with this idea you know! I always knew! I just pretended I didn’t know!
Kurodo: I’m not ashamed to admit that I’d never thought of it before! How amazing though! Talk about failing to see that which is right there in front of your face!
Noba: *panting*
Ririn: Well, I was acting dumb on purpose as anyone can plainly see! Otherwise I would’ve suggested the same thing anytime! Now let’s go find those Bounts!
Kurodo: Absolutely!
Kon: Hey, what about me? I’m still a stuffed animal!!! Wait! How am I supposed to keep up with you?! Waahhh!
Code Geass
Lelouch: C.C. told me you can’t turn off your Geass, and your reach is erratic; if you don’t concentrate, your range gets very short.
Mao: So you used the monitor to keep me distracted? Even so, I can still defeat you. I’ll have you ruined!
Lelouch: The moment you try is the moment you die.
C.C.: Lelouch, wait! If I talk to him, I can get through!
Mao: You think I’ll die?! Listen cops! You know who that guy is?! He’s the terrorist you want! He’s—
Cop: Fire!
*Mao is gunned down*
C.C.: Oh Mao!
Mao: Ugh-ugh…Zero…
Death Note
Light: You know, Ryuk, I might’ve seriously considered the deal if you’d offered me wings instead of eyes. Just the idea of flying around freely in the sky sounds very godlike. After all, it’s been mankind’s dream since antiquity to be able to fly.
Ryuk: You’d stand out if you sprouted wings and flew around, not to mention the police would have no trouble finding you.
Light: I was only joking. Anyway, if I keep bargaining for eyes and wings and whatever else, next thing you know I’m gonna end up becoming a real shinigami. Though who knows, I be that could be pretty interesting.
Ryuk: I wouldn’t worry. Even without the eyes and the wings, you’re already a worthy shinigami.
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex
Batou: That bastard! He harbored that much hatred in himself for his own parents?
Major: No, for just a split second, there was something I felt. When I burned out his brain I sensed: “Well, Mom, what do you think of my steel body?” It was very strange. A feeling of neither pride nor vengeance.
Batou: It was just something you probably imagined.
Major: Well, I hope you’re right. There’s no way we’ll ever know for sure now.
Cowboy Bebop
Mad Pierrot: AAAGGHHH! MOMMY! MOMMY IT HURTS!
*continues crying until he’s squashed by a parade robot*
Jet: Spike, listen. I figured out what he is. He’s a…
Spike: Forget it. I don’t need the info anymore. Man, I hate theme parks...

Bleach - 248,000
Code Geass - 230,000
Cowboy Bebop - 176,000
That's just depressing. I know numbers are going to be down because of the Dark Knight, but... the 100,000 area? Really? I know most of the Saturday base has seen Bebop tons of times, but you'd think Shin-Chan at least would have done better. I don't like the show, but... below 176,000?
Shin Chan was never popular. Forcing it to go head to head with The Dark Knight and the MMA ratings wars is just plain unfair.

MMA = Mixed Martial Arts? I had to look it up cuz I had no idea. That gets ratings? I dont even know what channel that even airs on.
As for Dark Knight. I still have yet to seen it. But yes, I understand that Im probably the only one who hasnt yet, but its been 3 weeks! Yes, these might be the ratings for the second week, but didnt everyone see it the first? I knew so many that had bought their tickets a month in advanced and saw the midnight viewing. Hell, half my office went the next day as a group. The second week couldnt have possibly had as many first time viewers as a normal movie. Maybe its like Titanic and everyone is seeing it multiple times
I just dont understand why a 1.30 airing is more successful than an 11 airing. I was so sure it would reach past 400k. It got very close in the beginning of the 2nd season, and that was with a 12.30 airing.

Week of 7/28-8/3:
Household Viewers: 970,000(#6 for cable)
Total Day Viewers: 1,164,000(#6 for cable)
- Family Guy: 2,701,000(#18 for cable)
18-34: 419,000(#1 for cable)
- Family Guy: 1,245,000 18-34(#2 for cable)
- Family Guy: 1,126,000 18-34(#5 for cable)
- Family Guy: 1,107,000 18-34(#6 for cable)
18-49: 544,000(#5 for cable)
25-54: 358,000(#10 for cable)
So, the ratings went up for last week. That's good, because AS barely beat out Nick at Nite for the 18-34 spot.
Here are the kid ratings:
2-11: 228,000
6-11: 165,000
9-14: 248,000
And the kid ratings went up.
MMA = Mixed Martial Arts? I had to look it up cuz I had no idea. That gets ratings? I dont even know what channel that even airs on.
UFC.
I bet you know what channel it airs on now.
And yes, there seems to be a correlation. Everytime a UFC airs on Spike, Adult Swim Action's ratings get kicked in the head.

This goes back noticeably to last year, when UFC 70 set ratings records for cable at ASA's expense.

"Changes imminent" - Looks like AS wasn't joking, because here's the new Saturday schedule starting tomorrow.
11:00 - Metalocalypse
11:30 - Venture Bros.
12:00 - Shin Chan
12:30 - Bleach
01:00 - Code Geass
01:30 - Cowboy Bebop
And take a wild guess where Moribito goes when it comes.

How many times has Bleach been moved this year?
macattack
08-08-2008, 12:38 PM
I've said it before and I'll say it again:
Pull Moribito and move it to Toonami. It has no chance on AS. Moribito is intended for the 9-14 and 12-17 demographics that are not likely going to be up at the 1:30 hour. At 10:30 it'll have a chance.

I've already posted my thoughts in the schedule thread but to summarize... AS is a bunch of overreacting idiots who still think 2nd tier comedy is the answer. I can predict with confidence that Saturdays will not see 400k with this lineup. Hell, 300k might be a stretch.

They put GITS on for two weeks and then removed it? A few years back, it was cute when they would poke fun at the fact that their schedules are altered so often and so erratically, now it's just rid-god-damn-diculous.
