The ninth episode of Total Drama Island airs on Har Har Tharsdays today. Looks like this episode is TV-PG-D. Here's the synopsis:
The campers are split up into Deer and Hunters and each team has to go out and bag as many of the other team's deer as possible.

XD great episode I like DJ running like a deer and all of the Owen scenes
Great character development in tonights episode but I didn't like the fact that cody got voted off and fell off the doc (hope they get him before he dies in there)
Also TWO major glitches in the episode:
1. Owen was given a red paint ball gun but in one scene it was green and by the next time they showed him it was red again
2. When Harold and Bridgette shot heather with the paint ball it was orange but later in the end when they shoot her and the others the paint is blue.
The episode was great but the animation was rushed
Hope more people noticed that

His name is Chris.
This was a nice episode, but I'll miss Cody (he was a funny character).

The animation looked perfectly normal to me. I doubt flash animation takes very long to make, so I don't see why anyone would rush it.

I mean it was edited bad in some parts of the episode

I'm so relieved that Heather didn't get eliminated. She makes TDI so interesting and exciting.
but I didn't like the fact that cody got voted off
Why? There wasn't much the writers could've done with his character.
1. Owen was given a red paint ball gun but in one scene it was green and by the next time they showed him it was red again
2. When Harold and Bridgette shot heather with the paint ball it was orange but later in the end when they shoot her and the others the paint is blue.
I didn't realize the flaw until you mentioned it. :p

I like this episode. I'm happy that a nerdy girl like Beth standing up to a witch like Heather. I'm intrigued by how harsh Heather is going to act towards Beth.
Moreso than before, anyway.
I also thought DJ acting like a dear was hilarious.

It's funny how Owen's always gets pushed down the cliff. It's kinda sad Cody left, nerds always get the short end of the string. But there'd be less drama in it if Heather left.

Wow, I do not like Heather. At all. I guess that's the point though, but she's still one of those girls that really get under your skin. I was so happy when Beth finally stood up to her, and if Azula is any indicator, Heather's breakdown will be soon.

Owen's running commentary--Hilarious! The absurd self-assuredness was just, well, like vintage Calvin and Hobbes. DJ really getting into character helped a lot too. Though Cody's brief food-chain talk with Beth was pretty amusing too. I will really miss that kid. Again, the absurd self-assuredness. I mean, when he appeared appeared in the stall, talking up his deer-skills while wearing the full-body cast....
The hunters were surprisingly ineffective, though. Only one deer hit...

cody abd beth actully make a good couple their both realy akward nerds
Finally, the writers are throwing some curveballs in who gets voted off. I was almost certain we'd lose Heather, but the witch managed to stay onboard another week. It's certainly nice to see the characters developing. I'm still wondering just what bad luck that Tiki head of Beth's is going to bring.

The reason Heather stayed is because of the classic survival reality show rule...the meanest person is always the best to have on your team.

-The scenes w/ Owen and DJ were so funny, especially when Owen fell down the cliff!
-I was so glad Beth told Heather off. She totally deserved it. But there is a chance she may use Beth's tiki against her as revenge...
-I laughed so hard when that bear was in the confession stall eating those chips!
-Next week: everyone cooks a meal. Hmm, can't wait to see how that one turns out...

Well, considering she hasn't done one thing to help out her team since the series started, I'd say she's an exception to the rule.

Finally saw this one (having came back from my vacation yesterday evening). Amusing episode, though was sort of hoping there'd be more old cartoon-type firearm gags. :-p
Comments:
- Apparently Owen didn't learn from the camping episode about being all-talk, little-to-no-action about hunting wildlife. :-)
- DJ got into his part *very* deeply...
- Nice to see Beth stand up to Heather like that. Also nice to see the "curse" beginning (in the episode's ending)...
- Figured Heather would stick around (as the show's obligatory "villain"), and Cody would take a hike (hard to do much if he's encased in a full-body cast and in a wheelchair).
Canadianisms:
None this week, aside from Chris' last-week recap mentioning the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) and not counting Owen's Toronto Maple Leafs t-shirt.
Next week:
The gang attempts to cook... with bottomless-pit Owen around, this should be interesting.

Here are my thoughts on this ep:
1. Heather was so horrible hogging the girls' bathroom like that!:(
2. LOL I'm glad that can of beans stopped Owen's parody of "Beans, the Musical Fruit!":p
3. As for the paintball deer hunt:
a. Too bad Owen's flatulence ruined his stealth hunting!:p
b. I'm so happy Beth stood up to Heather like that! She's definately had enough of being a slave girl!
c. Poor Cody, being mauled almost to death by that bear!   That's what happens when you leave a trail of chip crumbs.
d. Seeing Duncan & Courtney stuck in each other's antlers was mildly amusing. He soooo deserved that kick to the groin from her!
4. As for the elimination ceremony, I wasn't too surprised to see Cody get the "heave-ho" instead of Heather.
Pretty good ep.:) I can't wait to see the big cook-off next week!:D

Does anyone find it odd that some fans appreciate the reality concept of the show more than the fact it's an animated comedy?

Uhh... not really, it's what draws me to the show really. Sure the comedy part did attract me to watch it, but with how they treat the characters it makes you treat it like a reality show. Which is why I think people like the reality concept.

I really enjoy the show because it is such a play on how ridiculous "reality" shows really are. In fact, I would venture to say that TDI is more real than any of the seemingly popular "reality" shows.

I enjoy the humor of the show as well as how it pokes fun of reality shows in their concept and characters. So many of the characters especially Heather are huge Reality show staiotypes.
