Hey Toonzoners!

We all know there's going to be a Season Three of Transformers: Animated, so what would you like to see in the third season of TF:A?

From what I heard from the comic-con reports season three isnt even greenlit yet, I really hope cn doesnt drop the ball with this one and leave it where it stands.

Anyway, what would I like to see from season three IF it happens? How about another soundwave episode people? A mirage type character might be intresting or even maybe another beast war character would be fun.

A reboot.

I'm sorry, but this show didn't really work for me. It was fun, but in the same manner as "Transformers: Robots in Disguise" and does not need to be spun off into an expanded universe.

It's time for a more gritty and realistic series, like the 2002 He-Man or 2003 TMNT.

I don't foresee the series ending at two seasons. I asked Tara Strong if the series is going to get a third season, and it sounds like it is likely that the show will get another season. It is true that it hasn't been given the green light, yet. My guess is that it won't be airing until the end of the year.

Getting Waspinator back into play is something that'll likely happen and something I'll be looking forward to.

On that track, it'd just be cool to see more Beast Wars characters.

Knowing what Sari's secret is.
We already know that she's robot/cyborg.

Keeping in mind I have only seen three-fourths of season two (but had Sari's secret spoiled for me elsewhere):

Frankly I think this is a pretty sweet reboot, and it's what got me back into the Transformers series. I don't want a "dark and gritty" new series thrown at me - I got that thrown at me in the form of the animated Movie at the age of six. Then there was the whole 'zombie Optimus' thing that put me off of G1 until my early twenties. I was pretty mad when I learned he was shoehorned back during the Hate Plague, which is a shame, because I would have totally been into Beast Wars without the ghastly image of half of Optimus' face blown off while he piloted all my dead childhood heroes into a sun, never to return. Yeah, woo, DARK AND GRITTY. I STILL WAKE UP SCREAMING, NIGHTS, HASBRO.

:raven:

But I digress, the new series is fun, and I honestly felt some of the magic rekindle when I was a kid and the Autobots did fun things like learn how to shoot hoops. I even smile in the built in moral of each show. I'd be comfortable with letting a young kid watch this show-- never mind I'm twenty-eight and waiting eagerly to see season three.

Optimus Prime finally has a chance to shine outside of the minute of awesome we had to wait until the animated movie to see when he took out half the Decepticons by his lonesome. Now THIS NEW Optimus, he uses his axe like a beatnix waxes poetry: often and to the sound of much snapping. In the third season, I'd like him to continue to become the great leader we expect out of our Optimuses, gaining confidence as the Autobots put more faith in him.

Speaking of Animated Optimus, wouldn't it be awesome if they used the key on the trailer shout out to G1, and somehow gave him Roller? I know Roller's very existence was shoehorned into the g1 cartoon strictly because it was part of the original Diaclone's toy, but I tell you what, I love that little blue/grey bugger. Who wouldn't want to jump dunes and race through canyons in a 6 wheeled buggy that was part of Optimus Prime's soul? Totally a pipe dream, but even a shout out to Roller would be nice. (but glad we just got the trailer's).

Also, more shoutouts to G1 characters. I don't see there ever being an Animated Hoist and Grapple, but dang it, there should be. Beast Wars is fine, too. I'm sure there'll be plenty of both in season three, so probably no need to encourage it. I will say I really like how this series started out as a tie in to the movie and was slowly subverted to G1, especially the bit with the ark crashing into a mountain.

So to sum up, more Optimus character building, more g1 shoutouts. Yessir.

More of Wasp, Wreck-Gar & Soundwave for starters. I don't know who else would work in terms of new characters. Maybe Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime?

Heh, I was just thinking how it would be funny if they reimaged Rattrap into an Autobot in this show with an alternate form of an exterminator's van when thinking of TF:A characters.

If it was going to, it would've been greenlit a long time ago.

The production staff have been drop not-so-subtle hints that it's greenlit for months.

1. It was announced that three of the following would appear: Swindle, Ratbat, Waspinator, Galvatron. Only two have.

2. They snuck Jetfire onto a "future character" image.

3. Weird Al's already in the recording booth for season 3.

4. Character designs were officially shown for Jetfire and Jetstorm.

5. Last paragraph. (http://www.comicbookresources.com/?page=article&id=17436%5B/URL%5D)

All signs point to the show having been greenlit for quite a while, but the higher ups aren't letting them make an official announcement.

I didn't say "dark and gritty", I said "gritty and realistic, like the 2002 He-Man or 2003 TMNT."

I wouldn't compare either of those shows to the level of violence in the 1986 Transformers movie or "Dark Awakening" episode. The DC animated shows were great for adults without gruesome death and violence. A show can maintain its sense of fun without slipping into Looney Toons cartooniness.

Have you watched Beast Wars? It balanced that very well, even with its high death toll (though it did have some Looney Toons moments, not nearly as many).

As soon as I saw Sari's magic Allspark key in the pilot, I knew that no one would die on this series. Which eliminated a lot of suspense. Also, much of the comedy and Aesop lessons were just retreaded cliches.

The human designs are also a problem I had. While no cartoon is truly realistic, these looked ABSURD. There is no way to take those designs seriously. Which is fine on comedy shows. But when characters are shown crying and emoting, those designs don't carry any drama. "Teen Titans" had a better balance.

Tone is a major problem in TF:Animated. I can never tell if it is a serious or comedic tone. It seems mostly comedic, but then tries to become suspense. CONFUSING.

TF:A has had some winners, though. "Thrill of the Hunt" was a good drama, and "Garbage in, Garbage out" was freaking hilarious! But these are the exceptions.

Ahh..Well to tell the truth I dont come to this type of place to debate who has the correct information or has interpreted it in the right way but for the most part I agree with you.
I found this in a interview at TWF2005.com its a intresting read and it has one practical quote that intrestes me.

TFW2005: What is the current status of Transformers: Animated season 3? In production? Greenlit? On a shelf? Can you give us any hints about what's going to happen? Are there any characters (such as Soundwave) we can expect to see?

Marty Isenberg: I'm still not entirely clear on what we can and cannot say about Season Three. So I will just say that we have not yet begun work on Season Four.

I wonder if they could work Barricade into the series... as a police car with that "to punish and enslave" motto of course. :D

Well, I'd definately like to see Waspinator and Soundwave again. Bring on Season 3. :)

I do. I see Chromia, Moonracer, and Firestar, along with Arcee as Kiss Players Autobots along with a certain foursome from another Hasbro series named Jerrica, Kimber, Aja and Shana, a shoutout to both G1 and Jem. The girls could be some new robotic "sisters" for Sari.

I see a storyline involving Airazor and Antagony in the future. Sort of a female Optimus/Megatron situation here.

Me! I'd see Cliffjumper, Brawn, Hound and Powerglide.

If they do bring Barricade in then I insist that he be voiced by Keith David. Only then shall he achive planet shaking levels of badassitude. Plus this show will be one step closer to having a complete set of Gargoyles VAs and there is just no way that can be a bad thing.

He has, at least twice. Once at Sari's birthday party, the other in one of the shorts released on the "Transform and Roll Out" DVD.

If Kup get introduced into Transformers Animated, He would probably be an old friend of Ratchet's

Skids needs to come into the series. Also, I want to see if the Lamborghini Twins, Sunstreaker and Sideswipe, in the series.

Another set of twins I would like to see for the first time are these two female Transformers:
