Does anyone have any clue as to why Cartoon Network banned The Powerpuff Girls final episode "See Me, Feel Me, Gnomey" in America?

It's not banned.
They just didn't air it for some reason.

Powerpuff Girls is technically still on hiatus, and CN doesn't like to complete a final season order unless they are sure the shows done. This goes for acquisitions too, One Piece still has 2 episodes to go on its own season order.

Maybe because it deals with serious issues such as:
-the people of Townsville worship the villain like a savior.
-the villain commits suicide.
But that's my guess.

I don't think it's banned, it just didn't air for whatever reason. PPG isn't the only show like that, there are a few others.

It was never aired. It wasn't officially banned. But then again that episode was pretty serious and dark.

I thought the last episode was a musical.

It is. A rock opera to be precise (based on Tommy, I think).
It's still one of the darker and more serious PPG episodes out there, though. Not dark enough to top "Speed Demon", but still pretty darn dark.
-the villain commits suicide.
Um, no he didn't. The Girls confronted him to the edge of the platform, and he lost his balance and fell (gaining a sudden rather eerie epiphany on the way down).
I thought the last episode was a musical.
It revolves around a gnome offering to get rid of all of the evil in townsville if the PPG give up their powers. Townsville takes to worshiping the gnome, and eventually take it to the point where they act like a cult. Without good or evil in the world, there's nobody left to oppose him. At the end, the Powerpuff Girls realize that good can't exist without evil, so they break the deal
It was a musical, but it had some very dark undertones to it. It was also one of the best episodes of the series.
I'm pretty sure the episode is going to be added to the Powerpuff Girls "Complete Series" if you really want to see it. The set will be coming out next year.

I guess a complete series set also stops any chances of there being a PPG return that was rumored.

Atleast if you buy the boxset you get to see the neverbefore aired episode. I also herd that they were making a new TV movie.

I know about the TV Movie, but there were rumors that Craig would restart work on PPG after he had completed Foster's. But that's not possible now that a complete series set is being made.

That's already been done: Powerpuff Girls Z
I guess that's not really a spin-off. A spin-off is supposed to reside in the same continuity as the original series, right?? Then in that case it could happen. But would it possibly be about?? The PPG's all grown-up?? Alien Force did that, I doubt CN execs would take a pitch that is so similar to one of their newer shows.

Exactly what sort of spinoff could they possibly do? Introduce new kids and give them Powerpuff powers? Why, how, and what would be the point? Make the girls older? We've already gotten the Japanese knockoff, Powerpuff Girls Z for that (no to mention that PPG Style movement they tried a few years ago), not to mention how on paper it smacks too much of Ben 10: Alien Force. What's left? Everybody Loves Him??

I don't know defuctzombie suggested it. And they are making a spinoff series of Totally Spies so it could happen for the PPGs too. You can ask almost the same things you just said for TS too.

Haha, Everybody loves Him.
A common theme when brainstorming spin-off show ideas is that one of the major secondary characters/lesser main characters moves away and starts a new life in a different place. That was one of the plots for a Rugrats spin-off where Suzie moves away. Cory in the House did that when spinning off from That's So Raven. And that's what will happen with Family Guy when the Cleveland Show starts up in '09. So maybe something like Mojo having to move away and join a group of primate CIA agents. Just kidding.
Though we might not see a direct spin-off of PPG, I remember reading that if Cartoon Network: Fusion Fall does well, we could end up seeing a TV series about it, which would mean we would see another older anime version of PPG.

Not really. The Powerpuff Girls and Totally Spies are two very different cartoons.

That's really an opinion. On a TS forum I go to lots of people say TS is a grown up version of the PPGs with out powers. There was even a joke on Totally Spies itself a bad guy says we have got those creampuffs traped while chaseing the girls.

I guess it is more of an opinion but I've watched both shows and I don't see anything similar except for they're 3 girls who save the world. What I was trying to say before is that PPG doesn't have many characters that would make good spin-offs. Most of the other characters are villains and with CN aiming for a young demographic, I just don't see a show based on a villain working for the network.

To who asked, I meant there could be something like Powerpuff Girls: First grade, or PPG 2.0 or something where it would be the same except tweaked. Not like Demashita! Powerpuff Girls Z.

Same here. I don't really see any similarities between The Powerpuff Girls and Totally Spies at all. Sure, there's the first glance resemblance in that they're both animated shows about trios of crime fighting girls, but there's where the similarities end. If anything, Totally Spies is more like an animated high-school version of Charlie's Angels.

At SDCC this past weekend, Craig said the episode was intentionally not aired because "the climate of the network had changed, and they no longer found it acceptable."

Here are some of the similarities I find in my on opinion some of the characters have similarities like Blossom and Sam maybe Jerry and professor utoium. They have some a few similar villians like Mr.Mime in the PPGs and Jazz hands in TS those episodes were also almost the same plots. K.A.R.R is in the PPGs and TS also has a car similar named K.I.R.T. Princess on the PPGs acts like Mandy and is even the same person who voices Mandy. Broccoloids is in the PPGs and Brocololy also came to life in TS. TS seems to me that it would attract a higher age group to me than the powerpuff girls would. I like TS better than PPGs but I think their very similar.

True, Blossom and Sam are somewhat similar characterizations, and both have long red hair, but the blond and black haired PPGs, Bubbles and Buttercup, are nothing like Clover and Alex. Also, how is Jerry in any way like Prof. Utonium? Jerry is more of a cross between Bosely from Charlie's Angels and Alfred Pennyworth from Batman.
They have some a few similar villians like Mr.Mime in the PPGs and Jazz hands in TS those episodes were also almost the same plots. K.A.R.R is in the PPGs and TS also has a car similar named K.I.R.T.Both of those cars are parodies of K.I.T.T. from Knight Rider. Knight Rider was a popular show and it has been satarized more than once by Hollywood animators. Lots of shows have done Knight Rider parodies. heck, even Kim Possible did it once. Even the [adult swim] series Strocker & Hoop had a parody of K.I.T.T. named C.A.R.R. as one of it's regular characters.
Princess on the PPGs acts like Mandy and is even the same person who voices Mandy.Actually, Princess Morebucks was patterned after Veruca Salt form Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but Princess and Mandy do act sort of similar, and both characters are indeed voiced by Jennifer Hale, so I'll give you that one.
Broccoloids is in the PPGs and Brocololy also came to life in TS.It's 'broccoli', and that's sort of coincidental, don't you think? I'm pretty sure that one didn't ripoff the other.
TS seems to me that it would attract a higher age group to me than the powerpuff girls would. And yet it didn't.
I like TS better than PPGs but I think their very similar. That's one person's opinion, and debating personal opinions is pointless, so we won't.

I'm honestly starting to think that if it were current day, they could probably get away with airing Gnomey. I don't know what happened (haven't really been keeping up with what suits are doing what) but CN's been getting a massive overhaul lately, one that seems to be doing everything it can to shed the "Kids Good, Grownups Bad" attitude that so annoyingly saturated the network last year as they tried to emulate Nickelodeon.
I know some won't agree with me, but CN's changing, and changing a *LOT*. Personally, I think many of the changes scream of old-school CN, from the cutesy-goofy bumpers to the wider variety of shows, some of which (Like Total Drama Island) are nowhere near the "just for kids" realm. And hey, Secret Saturdays even got its name back! Eeep! Original comic-book movies?
Unfortunately, all this makes Gnomey feel even more like a missed chance. Oh well.
ETA: As for Mandy, if she acts like anybody, it's Azula without the crazy. Just cool, calm, "I'm in charge".

There's another ep called "Deja View"It's about the girls finding another universe with evil versions of themselves(and the professer has and eyepatch and is evil too). And their names are berserk(blossom) Brat(bubbles) and Brute(buttercup). He never finished the ep because he was busy with the movie.
