The article features new versions of one of our favorite sandwiches, some featuring such things as truffles, foie gras, and fried duck eggs(!) One sandwich--the $50 one--is featured in the series Gossip Girl.

I still like the $100 sandwich they show on Foodnetwork more.

I'd pay $150 for a sandwich,

because I'm a cool person.

So if biology class taught me that organisms absorb 10 percent of the nutrients they consume, that's 5 bucks put to use and 45 bucks out the back door.

I demand a rebate.

You know, when I first read the title, I thought someone paid $50 for a sandwich on eBay because it had a Jesus face on it. This is infinitly more stupid. I like how they claim many rail thin "actresses" eat these sandwiches. Yeah, and purge themselves seconds afterwards.

Yeah, people will pay even up to $150 for a grilled cheese sandwich. And I had absolutely no idea what you COULD put in a grilled cheese sandwich, or what sort of breads or cheeses you could use.

The only fancy grilled cheese sandwich I've ever eaten was a grilled cheese sandwich with ham in it.

And grilled cheese sandwiches, no matter how expensive they are, or what you put on them, stilll taste good with a side of tomato soup (and sometimes chicken noodle).

Time to look for a really good Grilled Cheese Sandwich Cookbook...

A good rule of thumb: if you put some fancy French-sounding food item into even the most ordinary of foodstuffs, the price may then be jacked up considerably.

Wow. If that's how much they cost then I owe my grandmother about ten grand.
