This is the talkback thread for SDCC2008: "Foster's" Panel Report - Series Finale in 2009 (http://news.toonzone.net/article.php?ID=25182).
Well, now we know that we will be getting five episodes after the TV movie airs in the Fall. At least we know the show will get closure.

Aw man, I don't like the sounds of the final episode's title :crying:

The title of the finale does sound sad. But I'm not worried. Craig and Lauren are very in tune with the fans of the show, and I'm sure they'd do what they can to please us, and leave us with a sweet taste in our mouth, rather than a sour one. I am surprised to hear that the movie isn't going to be the finale, though. But I'm not complaining.
Although I might complain that we have to wait until the end of November to see any new episodes. :ack:

Goodbye to bloo, does that mean Max is all grownup or no?

It's Mac, actually. And who knows? We'll just have to wait for the finale to see what's in store.

Maybe Bloo will finally get adopted and Mac has to cope with it. Then fast forward years later, we see an adult Mac reunited with Bloo.

Or maybe SOMEONE DIES EEK. :p Not gonna happen.
I don't know. Maybe it will be a breaking the 4th wall finale in which it is revealed a camera crew has been video taping Bloo for the past few years, and the contract is up:D That would be the best 4th wall breakage of all time!
At least we get those 5 episodes and it ends in 09 I thought it would this year but hope the last episode is worth laughs and a good farewell to the show

Haha, you're too funny. Someone dies, hehe, that'd be a shocker. But I doubt Foster's would break the 4th wall, it's never done it before. Foster's is a much more "realistic" fake show, y'know what I mean. I mean it follows most of the laws of physics and such.

The movie probably still is kinda the finale. It's might just be the same thing as Billy and Mandy, where Wrath of the Spider Queen was the finale, but episodes continued to air after it for a few months. But "Goodbye to Bloo" sounds like a finale title, and a sad one at that. Let's brainstorm; what could it be about. Maybe Mac actually does end up moving, or Foster's ends up closing down and all the friends must be adopted. But I do agree that the end of the episode will probably wrap the series up in a happy way, like the KND finale did (I'll admit I cried a bit on the inside when Numbuh 1 was leaving ). I'm also glad that we'll be seeing Foster's advance into the new year, unlike most other comedy shows that CN is just knocking off slowly.

From what the article seems to say, the episodes are done, and the movie's in production, and yet the end's already finished. Out of order production isn't rare I suppose, but it still strikes me as strange...

I doubt that Mac will grow up and let Bloo get adopted. It was always my guess that he would actually take over Fosters once Madam Foster got too old. Maybe the title is misleading and Mac is going to leave Bloo and then come back for him before he gets adopted.

There's no way Mac would take over Foster's, not when Madam Foster's granddaughter is still around.
I thought that race episode was going to be the finale, but I'm glad it's not. I have faith that the writers will end Foster's with a bang.

Maybe it's a trick to make you think it's sad.
When really, it's like that Pokemon episode where Ash sets Pikachu free but NOPE HE COMES BACK THREE MINUTES LATER.

Someone could die, namely Madame Foster. She is so old and Francis is old enough to take over. As for Mac leaving Bloo ,this is possible . After all, he should have more interests than just watching out for his imaginary friend. Also, it would be interesting to see what happens to GOO in the series. She is now an added bonus to the show.
I wouldn't doubt if most if not all of the friends we knew would get adopted . Will,Coco, and (the big guy) are all eligble to be adopted. I wouldn't doubt if Duchess wouldn't get adopted . It would be the happiest day of everyone's life.
I will be very sad to see the end of FOSTER'S HOME FOR IMAGERNARY FRIENDS.

probably no one will die, but they'll probably show like a "20 years later..." kinda thing

Anybody played Lost Odyssey? At the Cartoon Voices I panel, it was revealed that the guy who plays Bloo is also the guy who plays Kaim. Scary thoughts arise from that.
Anywho, it'll be sad to see Foster's go. One of the few sitcoms out there that's actually funny and doesn't bother with shock humor.

I doubt the finale will be that heart tugging like Wilt's movie. This show has a habit of appearing all sweet and sappy at times, then suddenly they pull a "screw you" twist. Not mean-spirited, but funny.

After all this time it would be funny if Coco could speak clear English in the finale, but I'll make a list of my predictions for Foster's '09 later.
I'm surprised that besides Hot Topic and what little merchandise that was in K*B Toys, there is hardly anything worthwhile to get the kids running in the store to make money for this show and to make it more popular in the mainstream.

I think that Mac will grow up and let Bloo be adopted by a kid, not because Mac doesn't care just that he wants Bloo to be with a kid and not an adult.

I think the new kid might be Mac's son so that Mac and Bloo can be together and Bloo can be passed down from generation to generation.

That is, if imaginary friends are immortal.

That is, if imaginary friends are immortal.
If you think about it, if the creator can keep the image of said imaginary friend alive and well in his mind, the imaginary friend can be immortal. It would be like Timmy's fairy godparents being given to his kids in "Channel Chasers".
Like how Timmy didn't want the memories to die out because he was getting older, it can also bring the thought of Mac forgetting that Bloo existed but given the image of he had created a creature like Bloo when he was a kid.
So when Mac sees his son talking to Bloo, he will think that his son was talking to himself.

That makes no sense; In Foster's, imaginary friends can be seen by anyone; they are essentially real after they imagined.

Aren't many of the male characters on Ed, Edd and Eddy practically bald. Johnny at least.

Even 3 strands is hair. He's not bald unless there's no hair on his scalp.

I have the Pan-Euro Cartoon Network and on February 7 they started airing Season 6 of Foster's every weekend at 09:30 EET. On February 22 they started airing episodes of Season 6 that still haven't air in the USA. And on March 7 they had to air the last episode "Goodbye to Bloo". But instead they aired "Seeing Red/Phone Home". I was really upset , I have been waiting for it 2 weeks. I hope they air it!:(

Well, I do remember reading an interview with Craig McCracken where he admitted that he started to feel old when some of the younger artists working for him told him that they used to watch the Powerpuff Girls when they were kids.
