This is a very minor question, but one I find intriguing.

On the Cartoon Network homepage, at the very bottom of the page, you'll see the original CN logo, the Turner logo, and then to the right of the Turner logo, it says "What A Cartoon!" with a TM marking. What's that all about??

It's weird that they still have the old logo there as well.

I don't think you're initiated with what that means, Micki, so here's a brief summary:

The What-a-Cartoon! Show is an old project that CN used to air over a decade ago. They teamed up with Frederator Studios to give animators a chance to have their shorts exposed on the network and see if they can potentially get picked up for a full series. Five of these shorts became full-blown Cartoon Cartoons (Dexter's Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, The Powerpuff Girls, Courage the Cowardly Dog, and Cow and Chicken).

I find it interesting that they have the logo at the bottom of their site. Considering the show's resurrection on Boomerang some months ago, this might be a sign for a renewal.

No, no, no. Of course I know what WAC! was. I'm just saying maybe CN is digging down into their roots to pull out something from their history and turn it into a slogan. I'm curious to know why CN would put it up on their site. The only reason I suggested it was a slogan because it has TM on the end, usually phrases with TM's at the end tend to be slogans, I think. But yeah, I know what WAC! was.

Well, Fred Seibert himself never had his own studio until 1997, when Oh Yeah! Cartoons was starting up.

Who knows. Maybe WAC is being revived. But it's odd: I thought Cartoonstitute was WAC's Spiritual Successor.

The old logo has been at the bottom of the page for a while, I don't see how some of you haven't noticed by now.

The part that says 'What A Cartoon' used to be 'Toon TV' but I guess they changed it. Either way it seems that they're trademarked phrases.

It is weird that they would have the name of a show that they haven't played in years on the bottom of their page unless...its coming back!

Hmm. I wonder if CN would actually revive What A Cartoon? It's been over for so long, but I guess it's a possibility...

Maybe the folks in charge of the CN website have merely forgotten that the What A Cartoon! logo is there and just haven't got around to removing it yet. Crazy thought, I know.

Guys, we're on Toon Zone. If there were any plans to revive WAC in any way, I think we would've heard something by now. A press release, a link, a source, something.

Then explain why the Jetstream site has the What a Cartoon logo, when it didn't a month ago:

Kinda difficult to say it popped up there by accident.

OK, sorry man. I didn't know that the insignia popped up there a month ago. I apologize for the mistake. I don't visit Toonami Jetstream (or any of Cartoon Network's web sites) that often.

Guys, we're on Toon Zone. If there were any plans to revive WAC in any way, I think we would've heard something by now. A press release, a link, a source, something. Not necessarily. There are plenty of projects CN (and other networks) have not revealed to the public until they're way into production. Rumors of WAC being revived have been circulating for months now, yet this is the first official hint we've gotten.

You may be onto something there John. Maybe they'll use the phrase 'What A Cartoon!' for the Cartoonstitute.

As of current the closest official news we have that is related to WAC! in any way is the Cartoonstitute, which was announced in early April, nearly three months ago. Heck, this is a long shot, but if WAC! was originally called World Premiere Toons, maybe the execs at CN decided it would be a better promotional plan if Cartoonstitute had something to do with WAC!, like John and Master Toon said, but maybe a bit more than "spiritually".

No, that's not it.

Cartooninstitue is like "What a cartoon" airing short pilots of animated shows.
