That's what this article says.

Star Wars will be the cornerstone of the Saturday night programing (I'd expect at 9PM premiere slot and possibly at 10:30PM encore).

Batman is gonna be ready for Fall afterall but I'm guessing late Fall... probably early November or late October.

I'm sure they mean Ben 10: Alien Force not the original Ben 10.

No mention of The Secret Saturdays but I think the only reason they didn't mention it was that it's not a "buzz" show but then again that's the type of sci-fi related show that Sci-Fi Wire should be promoting.

Also no mention of Naruto and as it's been on Saturday nights since 2005 it's hard to imagine it moving elsewhere... And it fts the whole fantasy / adventure theme like a glove.

A real pitty they didn't add Gundam 00 to the mix but Sci-Fi will give it a very good home.

As for One Piece... I wouldn't bet on it. KIBA seems more likely at this point if Upperdeck can be persuasive enough.
.
I really hope they don't move Har Har to Friday nights though. They may end up showing movies on Friday and Sunday like they do now.

Now the question to ponder is why did they change those plans to make Friday night the action block? I'm going to say it probably has a lot to do with keeping ASA after CN's action block. AS wasn't about to move action to Friday nights so I expected two action blocks would exist and they'd only run the Friday block 8PM-10PM with comedy to warm-up for ASC. I suppose they decided they didn't have quite enough shows for two nights of action along with Saturday mornings (which will surely continue to air Pokemon and Bakugan at the very least).

So they opted to keep action on Saturday. That's where it's expected to be and it tends to work well there (for CN anyway). Hopefully ASA can make the most out of having Clone Wars airing shortly before it on Saturday night. A possible Clone Wars and Naruto premiere sandwhich ending Toonami with an encore of Clone Wars is bound to make the total viewership of the night higher than it has been for a long long time. Perhaps even surpass all previous ratings successes on Saturday night.

good to hear that this may bring a good action block or better toonami to Saturdays (maybe Toonami gets the last 2 hours) Sounds good so far

Mmm...Sci-Fi doesn't seem like a particularly good source, but I guess it could be true. Either that or Cartoon Network is really unsure about their plans. First the block is supposed to start on August 10th, now it's going to be sometime after August 15th? And what's up with Batman? I thought it was delayed until spring.

Either way, it doesn't seem like the block will be Toonami, judging from the lack of Toonami bumps during Superman Doomsday.

Well, it's possible that it could still be Toonami, just with lower budget bumpers (the Doomsday commercials and bumpers still had Cullen and Blum, after all).

Even if it isn't Toonami, though, this kind of block on Saturdays will at least be carrying it's spirit.

I don't get why CN doesn't just use Thursdays for 2 or 3 comedy premiers, and Fridays for the remainder, coupled with a few movies. Saturday, in my mind, has always been the best spot for action premiers, along with a movie or 2.
Sunday nights could be a mix of comedy and movies, like Friday.

Yup, this pretty much means the end of Toonami. And I'm sorry to say this, but I don't think Naruto is going to be involved in this block at all. Even though I didn't watch the show too much, it was a good show. I was really hoping we could've had this block on Friday, since that would 1) Save Toonami, and 2) Get rid of Fried Dynamite. With the block supposedly on Saturdays, that means we will still have a pointless Friday block with no premieres. I'm hoping that maybe Har Har moves to Fridays, but it most likely won't happen, since the block's name is possible only because of how Thursday is spelled. Har Har Fridays just doesn't seem like it's going to happen.

There's still a good chance that this isn't even true. There are a few things wrong with the article. They mention that Ben 10 is going to be apart of the block, and when describing him they say it's about a 10 year old, which is not Alien Force. Plus there's no mention of Secret Saturdays. I don't know, I'm really hoping that this block isn't for Saturdays, because that would surely mean that Toonami is dead, unless they decide to change it back to weekday afternoons, which as of current are filled up with marathons.

They could, like, you know, change the name of the block...

That and:

Cartoon Network's Thursday and Friday night programming blocks were up against kid demos versus the same time periods last year:
The Thursday night block Har Har Tharsdays (7:30-10p) on July 10, 2008 earned its best performance among K6-11 since the block launched on March 6, 2008, and grew versus the same time last year among K6-11 (+44%), K2-11 (+41%), and tweens 9-14 +91%.
Similarly the network's Friday night block, Fried Dynamite (7-11p) delivered an increase against the same time last year with K6-11 (+47%), K2-11 (+35%) and Tweens 9-14 (+52%).

I don't see Har Har Tharsdays moving anytime soon. I mean a 91% increase with tweens, that's amazing.

Huh, Fried Dynamite is doing pretty well with just reruns. Guess kids like Blake and his crew. That explains why they're revising their plans.

They could, but like Mugen said, the block is doing so well that CN probably doesn't want to make that move. However, most kids probably only watch the block for it's content, aka Chowder, Flapjack, TDI, and Johnny Test. I bet a new Friday night block with the same lineup would do just as well. And another thing to look at is that Har Har isn't just going to be on over the summer, school's going to start up for kids eventually. And then they might be too busy with that (or will have earlier bedtimes) to watch the block. Whereas Fridays is the coveted day for kids when they can chill and relax and await the weekend. And seeing as how CN's premiere history has been with Fridays (up until now) since the inception of CCF, the kids would be familiar with the Friday night routine.

But all in all, I'd rather the action block be moved to Friday than Har Har be moved to Friday. That's because I'd rather keep Fried Dynamite than lose Toonami. On the other hand, I'd rather have Toonami on every weekday, which would leave room on Saturday nights for the action block, but we know that's not going to happen, so I'm just hoping this article is just a bunch of bologna.

But what's the point of Fried Dynamite now? It used to air new episodes of cartoons. But now that comedy's moved to Thursdays and action's on Saturday, I don't see why we need it around anymore.

Well, I'm not completely buying the whole Action on Saturday thing until I get an official word. But that's the reason why I think the action block is better suited for Fridays. That way we keep Toonami and get rid of Fried Dynamite.

They kinda don't have enough SUCCESSFUL action shows to have three action blocks and I don't see Saturday mornings changing much (even if the packaging goes).

For all we know the Saturday block could still be Toonami. If it airs Naruto there's really no reason for it not to be Toonami as all that's defined Toonami recently is "it airs Naruto premieres".

Ideally we'd get 3 action blocks. If they had kept more shows on the air then we probably could have had 3 easily. This is what we should have had this Fall.

Alien Force, Saturdays, Clone Wars and Batman on Friday and Naruto, One Piece, perhaps KIBA or Jack and maybe a Clone Wars encore on Saturday. But as it stands it's looking more like Alien Force, Saturdays, Clone Wars, Batman and Naruto with a chance of Jack or KIBA.

It'd be nice if all of this were going to Toonami, but I wholly doubt it.

RIP Toonami. ;_;

Toonami should just die. It's been on life support for over a year, and Cartoon Network isn't acquiring enough action series anymore to keep the block fresh. Hell, recently it's just become a dumping ground for rerunning Saturday morning premiers. (and Naruto)

Actually from the looks of it, it's becoming a dumping ground for a bunch of movies instead. >_>

Hellboy is airing tonight on Toonami, but I guess they are trying to promote the new Hellboy movie coming out I guess.

Less so promoting the movie and more so capitalizing on it's somewhat unexpected success but also trying to switch things up to deter viewers from spending this evening watching Avatar. If they wanted to promote the movie they would have played Hellboy last week or the week before.

Oh heck, this is confusing. Okay, so comedy shall stay on Thursday, that much is pretty much guaranteed. But Friday and Saturday confuses me so much.

I think it's confusing because "they" don't have a firm grasp of the concept of "blocks".

I see "Fried Dynamite" bumpers everywhere. But I have no idea why because it looks like it's wrapping the same stuff all day long.

Toonami is the one block I understand. Though they really need to strengthen the shows to make it a bit more unique. There really aren't that many action animated movies so sticking one in every four weeks is an acceptable change. I'm probably saying that because they are running a favorite of mine, Hellboy,,, which I would have watched,,, if Avatar wasn't running along side.

HarHartharsdays is good, just because it has one show I like. Everything else seems pretty much standard CN that runs daytime all week long.

Special blocks only work when they make them special. I've seen it happen, they just don't seem able to stay with the ideas.

I still can't see why Friday has been a complete blank.
