Skooled - It was fun seeing Flapjack around other kids, for some reason. The whole episode was funny but it got a little strange at the end, but in a good way.
Snarked - This one wasn't as funny as the other but still good.

I agree with AntN, this was by far the best Flapjack episode so far.
Skooled: This episode had a good plot. It was also nice to see that the other kids looked kinda sorta normal and not all deformed like most of the Stormalong inhabitants, albeit their colors were still dreary and dull. Funniest quote goes to:
Miss Leading: My husband and I just-
K'Nuckles (hearing "husband"): I'm outta here.
that was really funny.
Snarked: This episodes plot was a little weird but I found it to be even funnier than the first. I loved the close up on Bubbie's face when she said she gets barnacles under her eyes, and the person screaming in the background. I also loved when K'Nuckles said that random "Booba Shkooba Stroganof" thing and the one Snark understood him. Then I also liked when all those scary things were telling them to go back and Flapjack didn't care, and then he saw the frog and started running away. One thing I'm wondering, were the Snarks supposed to be like Russians or something??
Anyway, Flapjack is getting better and better with each passing episode. I'm glad I stuck around to catch this show, as I had high hopes for it from the beginning. And though it came short of my expectations when it comes to art, I'm (very slowly I might add) beginning to accept (some parts of) the art.
One important thing I've noticed about Flapjack is how much Thurop Van Orman wants it to be like Spongebob. I think that weird laugh that Flapjack has is completely inspired by Spongebob's weird laugh. And though I like this show, Flapjack's laugh is excluded. Sometimes the laugh is funny, but then I say to myself "this guy is trying to be like Spongebob" and I notice how unfunny it is. Does that make sense??? Also, the weird facial expressions and the "graphic" and detailed paintings/CG parts (like the aforementioned Bubbie one) are also reminiscent of Spongebob.

I couldn't help but laugh at the "I feel mislead" joke.

Well the only other kids we saw were bad little kids covered in soot because they were being forced to power that guy's ship. The only other kids I saw "normal" were Kid Nuckles and that Flapjack clone in the Snarked episode.
I loved the close up on Bubbie's face when she said she gets barnacles under her eyes, and the person screaming in the background.
Cartoons often use a scream to emphasize on the "ugliness" or "horribleness" of the picture they show.

I think some people put to much time into emphasis on things.
They weren't Russian but I guess they wanted to give the Snarks a tough look.

I don't see it, I just don't see it. Everytime a happy-go-lucky cartoon character is made, people just automatically say that they're just like Spongebob. I've noticed no one ever says anything about Chowder being like Spongebob.

I've heard a few people compare Chowder to Spongebob.
It's to be expected. Whenever a show gets hot, people have to compare it to something else, and Spongebob Squarepants has become something of an institution in pop-culture, so even if Thurop Van Orman or C.H. Greenblatt had no intention of imitating the sponge, there are going to be comparisons.

And Spongebob got that idea from John K's Ren & Stimpy, who probably stole it from Looney Tunes...

I didn't say Flapjack was similar to Spongebob because both Spongebob and Flapjack are happy-go-lucky. My comparison has no connection to the character's personalities. You can kinda tell that Flapjack's weirdo laugh is derived from Spongebob's weirdo laugh. I guess that's truly the only similarity between the shows, since that whole weird "painted close-up" thing wasn't a creation of Spongebob, since it was done by Ren and Stimpy and Looney Tunes too. But yea, you're right, not every cartoon with happy-go-lucky characters are inspired by Spongebob. Camp Lazlo for one, has a happy-go-lucky character, but the shows style is pretty different from Spongebob's. But Flapjack is one of the toons that really is inspired by Spongebob. Thurop Van Orman even listed Stephen Hillenburg as one of his inspirations in an interview I read somewhere.
And people have compared Chowder to Spongebob, but that comparison can be attributed to the fact that C.H. Greenblatt was involved in Spongebob, which means that there's not a piece of Spongebob in Chowder, but a piece of Chowder in Spongebob. Does that make sense??

To me, Chowder really doesn't have too much in common with Spongebob. They're both naive, but Chowder acts a lot more like an actual kid (while Spongebob is always well-meaning, Chowder sometimes puts his own interests first).

I loved this episode the most so far. They're getting really good with the expressions.
And I'm pretty sure the Snarks were supposed to be Russian-esque, judging from the language on the paper Flapjack received.
I also thought it was really funny that Flapjack had intestines on his head and mistook a pile of intestines for Bubby. But now that I think of it, he wasn't on a whale hunting ship but a jail ship, so who's intestines were those? The prisoners?!
There were some nice shots of severed limbs around the octopus in Skooled. When the teacher was acting like an octopus while K'nuckles was sneaking around in the classroom at night was really awesome. The floor boards turned green and starting shifting around while the lights were flickering almost gave it a grindhouse feel, if that stretches it too much. The children acting like zombies/ghosts, the tentacles tearing through the teacher puppets face, all awesome.

Yea, I've thought about that before, too. While Spongebob is meant to be less grown-up than others, he usually is more mature and understanding, whereas Chowder is an actual kid and is portrayed as one. But I didn't say that the two shows were in common because of the character's personalities, any similarity between the two shows would be attributed to C.H. Greenblatt's involvement in Spongebob.
