Another new episode of Chowder airs today on CN's Har Har Tharsdays block. This episode is notable because its the shows first full 22 minute story. Here is the synopsis:

Shnitzel quits the catering company and joins Endive.

It should be interesting to see a Chowder plot stretched into 22 minutes. It would seem that CN's promotional team really likes Shnitzel.

Shnitzel is the animated incarnation of the oppressed working man. He faces hardships, abuse, and under appreciation. That's why Cartoon Network likes him...that and his only speaking in "Radda" (or some variation of it).

A full 22 minute episode? This will be fun to see. I wonder how Truffles will react once Shnitzel quits.

She probably will have like one scene where shes shown in, so she probably won't react at all.

They kinda already showed her reaction in the commercials when she goes: "Quit? You can't quit. What person would hire a bum like you?"

What I can't help but wonder is why would Endive cook shnitzel?

Maybe he's a special ingredient for something tasty, or she's also a cannibal cook.

That's not all she's going to do to Shnitzel: http://nerdarmada.blogspot.com/2008/07/shnitzel-quits.html

Panini wondering what's Chowder's favorite cartoon (Chowder) was funny.

Paninin talking to Shnitzel:
Tell me everything about Chowder!
What's his favorite color?
What's his favorite food?
What's his favorite cartoon? I hope it's Chowder!

The puppet version of C.H. Greenblatt was the best part of this episode.

I loved the part with C.H. Greenblatt talking to shnitzel. Omg. that was awesome. It was also funny with everybody (including kiwi) made offers to shnitzel so he would come back.:anime:

Just finish watching and boy was it funny. The part about Tofu was really funny though I thought he was going to be on the episode a little longer. Another 4th wall got broken again when Shnitzel receives "divine" intervention. :D Geez, Endive is crazy about men as Panini is with Chowder, though she really does hate being heartbroken.

Man, Panini needs a better role model. I doubt she would be as crazy as she is if it weren’t for Endive.

Great episode ton night, even though it mostly focused on Shnitzel I enjoyed it and has been the best Chowder I've seen in a while.
The Greenblat puppet was also a nice touch to the whole story, glad to see a real funny episode of chowder again.
5/5

They kinda already showed her reaction in the commercials when she goes: "Quit? You can't quit. What person would hire a bum like you?"

True but she did try to get him back by fighting Endive, so she much care for him on some level.

Holy crap, did Truffles do the headbutt version of a 'Thousand years of death'?!

I don't want to be rude but I think you already know the answer to that. It's just a joke for people who know about it.

Does this show even have a fourth wall?

*sigh* When people say an episode breaks the forth wall, that means that the characters have done or said something to acknowledge that they're in a cartoon. Like a character saying something like "This show needs subtitles" or "Who writes these episodes anyway?"

This was a hilarious episode, I knew they could pull the 22 minutes off and I was right. Some funny parts were:

- Shnitzel's swear jar bring full.

- Tell me everything about Chowder!
What's his favorite color?
What's his favorite food?
What's his favorite cartoon? I bet it's Chowder!

- And Greenblatt being a puppet, that was cool.

Chowder, as always, brings its A-Game.

Even though this episode was completely awesome and funny, I can't help but feel that something was funny. Not something missing that would make the episode bad, just not as funny as usual. Don't get me wrong, there were a lot of funny parts. The part where tofu ends up being a sissy and saying that that was the second job this week he lost and walking out all sad was hilarious. The Greenblatt puppet was unexpected and funny too. Then there was that one part where Endive was chasing after Schnitzel and Panini was following and her eyes were in different directions and she was just saying "Chowder....Chowder....Chowder" that was funny too. But still, despite the fact that Chowder did pull off a 22 minute episode, I feel like it didn't trigger my laughter gland as much as it usually does. I mean, I laughed more frequently in Flapjack than Chowder, and usually it's the other way around. I don't know, maybe watching the episode a second time will knock some sense into me.

LOL Shnitzel girlfriend was a rock.

Awesome episode. Love the Greenblatt puppet.

Best parts:
-Shnitzel's "girlfriend". Of course it would have to be a rock.
-"Shnitzel's swear jar..."
-The skeleton in Endive's closet.
-"What's his favorite cartoon? I hope it's Chowder!"
-Kiwi: "I'll give you my heart forever".
-"I'm not your boy... friend... good cookies, though."

I already know full well what it means. It's just that they do it so often with no regard for the fourth wall it's like it's not even there.

Phew! I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Look, I love Chowder. Some of these 4th wall gags are hilarious. But they don't need to break the 4th wall every week. If you do it too many times, it just becomes tiresome. That was one of the problems I started to have with Jim Henson's Muppet Babies and Taz-Mania; they started getting way too self-referential.

this might be a stupid question, but how was puppet Greenblatt's shirt intended to be read?

I "royal flush" the ladies?
I "card" the ladies?

any insight would be most appreciated.

Wow. That was a great episode. I was wondering how they could handle Chowder with a longer episode and they did it quite well. I laughed so hard during so many parts of the episodes. Endive's sexual harassment of Shnitzel was creepy, especially during the Pool Boy scene, but funny at the same time. She makes Panni looks sane. Shnitzel's swear jar being full was pretty good and the way Chowder distracted Endive as they could get away from Endive. Shnitzel's girlfriend being a rock was so good. Endive's terror rampage to win Shnitzel's heart was also creepy, yet funny. I think my favorite part of the episode was the appearance of the Greenblatt puppet. That was done so well. I thought that it was so cute how everyone offered Shnitzel something for him to come back. Too bad it ended having Shnitzel getting sick, but it was still a great episode.

After watching this episode, I do hope that they plan to make more segments like this in the future. They do seem to handle it really nicely.

He ate an old, moldy pudding cup that he made with Chowder; which was Chowder's first dish.
