They've pretty much made animated movies drawing from influences on every continet except for 1. I mean look.

NA: Pocahontas

SA: Emperors New Groove

Europe: To many to name.

Africa: Lion King, Tarzan.

Asia: Mulan, and Aladdin.

Australia: The Rescuers down under.

Even under the water twice, "and" back in time. Pretty much the only place I haven't seen them go is Antartica (understandable.) The only place I think they can go next is up, so to speak. I think that within the next few years we'll probably see them make a space movie or something (akin to Titan A.E, but maybe not as serious) on another planet. Who does not think I'm crazy?

Actually Di$ney is doing an animated remake of Treasure Island set in space.

And that Treasure Island re-make is called Treasure Planet. It's supposed to be out in 2002 sometime I believe.

Lilo and Stitch (2002) is set in modern-day Hawaii, and Treasure Planet (right after that at some point) is indeed in space, kind of a combination of high sci-fi and 16th century.

Have they ever made a movie set in the wild, wild west?

No, they haven't... there's been talk about doing a comedy-Western called "Sweating Bullets," but I'm not entirely sure if it's still in production.

Hell.

Literally or animation-wise. Either is fine by me.

I could pitch the whole Inferno project again, but the Mouse Corp. probably wouldn't have the cojones to touch it. Dreamworks, maybe...but not the Mickey people. 13th-century Italian poetry about d***ation and salvation just seems too over their round-eared heads.

<snort> After doing Hunchback what makes you think they wouldn't do this? Virgil drawn as cute little cherub, Beatrice (in flashback) as a Pocahantas-clone, and the damned singing cheery Elton John tunes.

Hey, that would work as a great Disney send up if the Mouse never touched it! Smigel could have a field day with this idea. I loved his "Disney" version of Titanic! That is the one cartoon of his I don't have on tape that I would love to own.
