STILL?!
I guess TOON really wanted Boomerang to be replaced by that pre-school network...
And they would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for us meddling viewers/animation fans/animation historians...
Also, they're STILL doing No Undies Mondays? Not even "Boomeracers" lasted this long.
I guess the fate of the pre-1948 (color) Looney Tunes shorts is still up in the air?...

I know the debate goes on forever in this room about too much new stuff or is it too soon to be a classic, but I have to admit, this is one of the better month schedules I have seen. You got 60/70/80's all day - the kiddie junk while mom & dad are getting home - and some newer stuff in primetime. Granted, there is still allot of older 80's toons I wish they would show and I could dump the kiddie block, but hey - 1 victory at a time.

That late-afternoon pre-school block ain't goin' NOWHERE apparently. Damn it all.
Anyone know if Boomerang gave Centurions a complete run-through?
Also, *sigh*............no new acquisitions. Could they at least sprinkle some 13-episode shows here and there, i.e musical shows like The Impossibles, Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kids?
Boom has ran through all of the Lion Voltron's eps, right? Guess they ain't bothering acquiring or airing the Vehicle series.
Gah............SOME NEW ACQUISITIONS PLEASE!

10:30 Voltron
11PM Justice League Unlimited
11:30 Super Friends
12:30 SWAT KatsSo in other words, except for Super Friends replacing The Batman at 11:30, the late night Boomeraction schedule won't be changing...at all. Boom could at least bring back seasons 1 and 2 of Justice League to stretch things out a bit.

They could put Cow and Chicken back on weekdays. And maybe put Voltron on where The Batman is now, so both would air all week long!

How could they? They were airing a 65-episode series only twice a week. It would take forever to get through the show that way...

Ok, that means the All-New Super Friends Hour and the original '73 SF series will return by June 1. Sweet!
I see from this thread that folks are still complaining about the aborted "Tickle U" block running on Da Boom. Hey, look at it this way. It's at a more accessible time where parents can watch with their kids.
My own complaints:
1. New Scooby-Doo Movies should only air on weekends. It's going to get played to death over the summer, recycling every 3-4 weeks.
2. They don't advertise Wait 'Til Your Father Gets Home as part of the Father's Day marathon, but they should. I'd mix in Valley of the Dinosaurs just to mess with people's heads.:D

If it means The All-New Super Friends Hour in its' original 60-minute format, then I'm in. If it's the Wendy and Marvin shows, then I'll pass.

It doesn't bother me that much personally, since I don't have any kids, but I do feel that there should be something decent on for the wee tykes to watch in the mornings. (Preferably something that won't drive their parents and older siblings insane in the process.)

Boomerang's been rotating both of those in and out,so it'll be one or the other for a while, then back to half hour eps for a few rotations, then the other hour series will rotate back in until they go back to the half hour eps. Later, rinse, repeat.
Yeah, it'll be nice to have Pound Puppies back. I guess it did good enough replacing the Smurfs temporarily a few months back to warrant it's return.

Thank God! Now if only they could get a few classics like Alvin and the Chipmunks, Garfield and Friends, Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs etc.
And while they're at it, some obscure Hanna Barbera productions (The Bisckuts, Shirt Tales).

Actually, it's "Bisketts" in this case. Also, As I recall, Boomerang has shown "Shirt Tales" before. Plus, it's no more "obscure" than any of H-B's other non-Flintstones/Jetsons/Top Cat/Scooby-Doo/Yogi Bear and Friends material.
TTA, and Animaniacs are controlled by Warner Bros directly, so it would have to air under contract (like Batman: TAS and Superman: TAS did). Alvin and the Chipmunks (I assume you mean the 80s version) is controlled by Warner Bros. through its acquisition of Lorimar-Telepictures. In any case, the syndicated version is all that's available, and it's not that good either.
Boomerang used to air the DVD version of G&F nearly a year or two ago. I don't know what happened with that, and I'm not so sure when it will air again.

.
Actually, CN's tapes of Alvin & The Chipmunks are WORSE than the syndicated versions. At least the syndicated versions had the title cards intact.
The one thing I noticed, however, is that the Nick/CN versions put the newer version of the song for the DIC episodes over the Ruby Spears opening when those eps aired, as opposed to actually airing the REAL Dic opening.

No, that happened in the syndicated version too (when they aired the DIC episodes). Not only that, but the R-S closing logo was also used for the DIC episodes (I think...).
I did however notice that when TOON aired the show, they skipped the title cards.

A few comments of my own:
1. I'm glad they're giving Valley of the Dinosaurs a rest. They kept showing the same eps over and over!:(
2. Aw, I'm gonna miss Centurions! I thought it was great!:(
3. At least, they're bringing back hour-long Superfriends! I'm one of the VERY few that likes the Wendy & Marvin eps, even if some of the dialogue was silly!:p :anime:
4. When are we gonna see the rest of the Cattanooga Cats eps?! The eps I'm referring to rely on the "Around in 79 Days" segments: they haven't shown "Troubles in Dutch" in quite some time.:( More importantly, I REALLY miss their "Hawaiian Hang-Up" ep, my favorite!!! I loved seeing pretty Jenny in a gorgeous bikini!:crying: :crying: :crying:
They should bring back Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels! There are still a few eps that Boomerang hasn't shown yet such as "Cavey and the Volcanic Villain" that takes place in Hawaii!:( One ep I really haven't seen is when they deal with a seaweed monster. I wanna see that one!:crying:

If popeye, pink panther and MGM were missing this would be the worst schedule ever. Unfortuantley I've seen worse, after ACME Hour was taken off in early of 2006 no classics except pink panther were remaining, then they brought back looney tunes and popeye. Anyway my point is it could be worse, but not much. Give me a break there is so much crapola on this schedule this channel is no longer devoted to classic cartoons. It sickens me everytime I flip my channel past boomerang and see dexters laboratory. Ohh give me a break!!

I feel the same way you do. I wish CN would get The Boom to expand their horizons by incorporating some more of their pre-90s animated catalog and acquire more retro-aged programming or preferably just turn The Boom into CN2/CCN.

You make it sound as if creating a new channel would be quick and easy. It isn't. I'm sure that Turner would have done something like that by now if they could have. Acquiring more retro-aged programming would require money, which Boom doesn't have in large amounts because it's a digital tier commercial free channel.

Turner-Time/Warner could potentially expand upon Boomerang's roster or even remake it into the proposed CN2 or Cartoon-Cartoon Network that so many people want to see, but there are 2 major factors preventing such a move: desire and money.
1. Desire-The Powers That Be at TWT aren't all that interested in Boomerang, let alone making an all-new all animation channel out of it. If anyone in charge there thought that people had any burning desire to see such a channel, they never would've altered Cartoon Network's original format in the first place. Unfortunately, as long as this mentality continues, it'll be a while before we see a new 24-hour cartoon channel here in the US, Turner owned or otherwise.
2. Money-remaking Boom into CN2 or CCN would require moolah, and a lot of it, much more than they're willing to shell out for Boomerang right now. This channel could conceivably just air Cartoon-Cartoons all day, but they couldn't air just them; that would get boring after a while, especially without the promise of any new episodes down the pike, which would inevitably cost them viewers within a year or so. They would need to balance that schedule out with original programming as well as new 3rd party acquisitions, both of which would cost money. The channel wouldn't be able to survive without becoming ad-supported, as they'd have to have a way to get back the money that they sank into revamping the channel-subscription fees alone wouldn't cover the cost. And the suits in charge would need to be convinced that such a move would be worth it financially. (See factor #1)
-It's also worth mentioning that money is also the reason we're not seeing Looney Tunes on Boomerang right now. Apparently, Turner wanted Warner Brothers to pay them a royalty for airing their cartoons on Boom, and WB understandably said "No way!" Result: no more Looney Tunes on Boomerang. To reiterate: remaking Boomerang into something bigger and better would be an involved and costly process; it's just not as simple as saying "Let's do it!".

They could add more cartoons to the schedule though, since they have tons of animated properties collecting dust on the shelves.
