Unlike the other three anime shows, Shin-Chan doesn't have the same amount of luck. The upcoming DVD release will be without the Japanese version(save for one bonus episode) and the ratings haven't been good for the show. Which is why the show is now airing tomorrow at 1:30 AM Eastern.

Okay I'm willing to stay up that late for Code Geass but not Shin. Even if I like both shows, I'd rather loose sleep over Geass. I'll just hit the record button and go to bed early this week.
God, sometimes I feel Adult Swim won't let us have nice things.

Welcome to Poo Corner.
"So lady parts can be doctors?"
I don't think I get the orange bit.
I shall call him...Mini-Doyle.
What's happening down there?
"Thanks for mocking my unused ovaries."
If you don't buy my meat, we'll kill this dog.
It's Shin-chan's Toodle Day episode!
And they called it "puppy love".
*burp*
"He found the loophole."
GET TO THE FROSTING!!!!
Hiro loves the stinging sensation and cool refreshing flavor followed by the aftertaste and the lingering sense of failure and despondency.
Hima's got an idea. :anime:
Shin on a beer run.
"If you drink beer, your girlfriend will get pregnant and your mom will die."

Joelle Sellner huh? So they've got a Teen Titans/Jackie Chan/Puffy writer on board.

This is one of the better ones of the new season.
In the second episode, in the original version, could hear the dog thoughts? Or was that just something FUNimation added?

"And that's why Rudy Giuliani should be America's next president."
Shin: "Don't we live in Japan?"

Okay, what was that text that flashed for one frame when Ench-man was giving his drinking speech? It happens so fast that even on AS Video I can't get it to pause on the exact frame.

When I first saw this show, I thought it was about a monkey. Geez, sooooooooooo crappy looking. But I've watched it off and on anyway, and I swear, next to South Park this is about the funniest "adult" toon ever. My fave ep so far is when Shin's family gets ready for an upcoming storm by practicing ridiculous survival tactics. Second fave is the one where Shin's mom falls in love with Action Bastard. Riot! :D

Oh good... ...so now it will get even worse ratings. I hope cable companies are able to tell Nielsen how many people are recording it with DVR.
If southpark aires at 9 central, reruns sometimes earlier I see no reason why Shin Chan shouldnt have a 10 central airing, even an 11. But originally a 12.30 eastern, and now this? When do they expect people to watch it? Theres a reason why they replay their stuff early in the morning. No ones up to watch it.
Plus I know its anime, but it appeals to a different audience. It needs to air after family guy and robot chicken.

You can tell a lot of the dialogue is basically the actor's response to what they see in the original animation and is ad-lib, while the rest is the writers. that's what it makes it so goofy.

The quotes in this thread almost make this show sound good; I'd watch it if the animation wasn't sooooo horrendously bad. Seriously, it takes REALLY bad animation to be that distracting, but this show seems to accomplish it. It's a shame, because it sounds like I'm actually missing something funny with the scripts.
Ratings have been low? That's not good news.
Yeah, Shin Chan should be airing alongside Family Guy, not Death Note. Just because it's anime doesn't mean they should put it in the anime block.

I was a lot like you. Beavis and Butthead was horribly drawn. So is King of the Hills (but of course I know why). Other shows? South Park... ...were they ever drawn? There are a lot others I could list, but these seem to have the most fans
I just feel bad for the rotoscopers who sometimes have to mimic their "style."

I recall them airing first season reruns at 11 or 11.30 central on weekdays. They should go back to that if they cant do the schedule we want

Then I advise you just listen to the show and not watch if you're turned off by the animation. In truth a lot of the funnier written gags don't really need to be seen fully to be enjoyed if you're that against the animation.

I'm pretty sure the low rating failures of Big O Season 2 and Super Milk Chan still sting into Adult Swim's mind and make them not want to try out any other anime on Sunday Night ever again. Though yeah they should put it on Weekdays like they did before, but that would cut into the all comedy line up they have for uh... some reason (seriously are the 1AM ratings of an anime so bad they need double harvey Birdman? Come on AS you can loosen up on that some. Or should anyway).
Anyway here's my thoughts on the ep:
"Tot For Teacher" - I like the idea of trying to explore Mrs. Anderson's personal life more and Shin and the others mistaking her for having a baby. When it turns out that it was just her form of teasing some woman at work or something along the lines. Best jokes were Shin pointing out to his mother what Mrs. Anderson was doing, Georgie reasoning on Rudy Guliani and Shin asking don't they life in Japan, Shin and the others telling the boyfriend and him happy to have something to raise his seed with, the confession at the end and everyone calling Mrs. Andrerson to congraluate her/call her a slut. This could of been expanded more but even Shin Chan's gross misunderstanding terms for how to treat a false baby situation could of lasted to long so i suppose it's good this only capped out at 8 minutes.
"Nice Day For A Whitey Wedding" - In truth I got more chuckles out of the title and the way Shin spoke it then the actual epsiode itself. Not that it was bad or antyhing but I like it when Whitey epsiodes have more of Whitey speaking in them then what happened here. There was some pretty good stuff though: Shin and Whitey having to hide the other dog, the kids putting on the wedding and Georgie's comments as the minister, Boo being sad/angry he didn't get any cake and the ending where the lady has the girl dog come back.
"Little Kids Drinking Beer" - I really do like the idea of Hima and Shin wanting to try some of Hiro's beer after he talks about how delicious it is. This could of been done better though and actually focused more on just exploits of Hiro foiling Shin and Hima getting his beer with the usual funny added american comments. Oh well still good stuff on the notes telling the auidence underage drinking isn't funny, Shin trying to buy stuff to brew his own beer, Hima and Shin hating the taste of alchol they actually got and the ending.
Overall solid ep. Still not the best of Shin Chan but hoping for more of these wouldn't be a bad thing.

Here is something I noticed, FUNi has not given Miss Katz a last name, and I don't know if they ever will. I think they have given Miss Anderson a first name (if so I forgot what it is), Doyle doesn't call her Miss Anderson? Does he?
But in "Tot For Teacher" she faxed her "congratulations", she signed it Miss Katz. In the original version, Midori and Ume have always been on a first name basis without each other. I am sure in the original, she would have signed it Ume.
