C&C - Bleach - "Truth of Despair, the Dagger that has been Brandished" [4/19]

Last time: Ichigo and Byakuya were fighting to the death, both in bankai mode.. yet.. while it looked like Byakuya was going to win.. Hallow Ichigo took over Ichigo's body and started attacking Byakuya like crazy! Lucky for Ichigo he was able to control his body and was able to rip off the hallow mask and continue his battle with Byakuya. Ichigo and Byakuya decided to at last end this battle by attacking each other with their strongest attacks full power.. and the winner ended up being...Ichigo.

Today: Captain Hitsugaya and his lieutenant Matsumoto find something terrible in the central 46 chambers. The question is what is it?

Oh and by the way:NO SPOILERS which means no talk about future villains, arcs and such. If you really want to talk about that stuff then take it to the anime forum!

Okay Let's keep a list of the surprises so far.

Big Reveal One: The Death Of The Council Of 46 Has Been Done for months and all the decisions have been mainpulated by them through someone.

Smaller Reveal: Momo followed since Hitsaguya once again forgot to seal her energy.

Smaller Reveal 2: Izuru and Ranigku's zanpakto's powers have been revealed.

Big Reveal Two: Aizen.. Alive?!!!!

Big Reveal Three: Aizen stabbed through Momo. That's no good (even if you disliked her).

Big Reveal Four: Aizen and Gin have been at this since Gin's been his lienutant so not only is this one well long thought out plan, it's one that's been in the making for years upon years. And you thought that Light had conquered the super evil genius big long plan market didn't you?

Smaller Reveal Three: Hitsaguya's Bankai. Some pair of ice Wings which easily gets owned by Aizen who apparently likes snow out of season.

Big Reveal Five: Aizen reveals his Zanpaktou causes teh ability of illusion so whoever sees it gets hypnotized to do whatever he wants. In other words he pretty much had everyone in soul soceity fooled except himself, Gin..

Big Reveal Six: And Tosen, who is blind and inaffected but working for Aizen as..

Big Reveal Seven: they use some sort of cloak warp to bring Ruika and Renji back to the hill, For why? Find that out next time probably.

It's all these reveals and plot turns that make this episode a winner to me really. The fact that they threw the contunity on it's ear and are making it seem that Aizen is the big bad that's been planning everything so carefully makes a scary amount of sense but really isn't something you'd see coming unless some big blabbermouth spoiled it. Luckily I was still mostly surprised the first time I saw this reveal which really makes the episode, espically since the whole Momo reconcliation scene while nice was getting a little too corny for me. Still now we find out the real bad guys and damn they're looking tough. How will Ichigo deal with this? (You know he's going to be involved now that Aizen's got interest in Ruika for some reason or another). Guess we'll find out as this arc continues it's closing moments though now it's gone into some other different ballgame.

I was spoiled by some bastard on Youtube. I really wish Viz would stop fansubbers from distributing episodes so I wouldn't have to deal with crap like that. The very least they could do is get the episodes pulled from Youtube.

The other captains are just following orders(and the law) and last I checked Soi Fong who was to confused and heart broken for the fact that Yoruichi left her.(so you might want to add Soi Fong to the good captain list now since it seems shes going to be a good guy if she listens to Yoruichi now anyway).

And as for Tosen we do not no much about him at all(because the anime put it his back story into 10 seconds). Its obvious Tosen was not a bad guy at first >_> and something just made him evil later on.

Aizen finally shows his dark secret which he's a truely sick evil genius mastermind:evil: & a mega monster at that who's behind it all & the most powerful, but the best villain next to Light Yagami from Death Note and wants Rukia for something.

The creepy jerk Gin so reminds me of Shagie from Beet the Vandel Buster by their sinister looks.

Poor Momo & the other Soul Reapers got owned badly.

The comparisons don't end there, Ichigo became a Soul Reaper through means that was not normally allowed; just as the Jedi Council made an exception to allow Anakin to be trained to be a Jedi.

Also, both Ichigo and Anakin are very passionate about their fighting and beliefs. And both are arrogant.

ok, there were a few plot twists not spoiled for me that made this an interesting eppy;
1)Aizen stabbing Momo, knew something bad was going to happen, but that happened pretty quickly.
2) Aizen completely taken care of white head. just when you got used to a battle lasting 5 or 6 eppys, this one took 5 or 6 SECONDS.
3)Blind dude actually serving the justice of Aizen????
as for the rest, interesting when it wasn't something that had been hinted at during the past few months.....

Uh few things wrong with that.

1. Black Haired Lady = Captain Unohana
Old Fart = Captain Commander Yamamoto
Furry Guy = Captain Komamura.

2. You need to get your facts straight on who was trying to kill who. The Sound Ninja Four's goal was to bring Sasuke back to Orochimaru's lair and only went after Naruto and co once they tried getting back Sasuke. It's not like they're specific mission was to kill Naruto and the others.

3. Similarly The captains haven't made it they're goal to kill Ichigo and the others. Even if for noble reasons Ichigo and others are still breaking into and committing illegal acts in Soul Society trying to get Ruika back. They would of been fine if they didn't go after Ruika but were captured/attempted to be killed (and that's only by even some of the captains. Mainly that bastard Mayuri) for doing so.

Really it comes down to the fact that the captains are just strictly following the rules to much in these situations which is why they're enemies with Ichigo and co (isn't that what Bakuaya said last time anyway? That Ichigo wasn't really fighting him, but the rules of soul society?). Speaking of the rules though...

Actually as mentioned here and in previous episodes, the Soul Society is the one that carries out the punishment, but the one who actually make the rules and ordered the execution in the first place was the council of 46. Which we find out in this episode has been killed so Aizen has been maknig the rules for Soul Society for some time without them knowing it. However now with that cleared you think the Soul Reaper captains are just going to let him get away with whatever he's doing? I really doubt it.

Actually the only reason that the Ichigo/Bakuya battle lasted 6 episodes is because of how much other stuff happened in the middle of it. Really even if you don't remove all the stalling and blabbing on the two did it's really like only three episodes, but there were other fights in the middle of it that took up time from that fight. That was the only one that came close to 6 eps though since Bleach isn't as terrible with the forever fights as some other anime (well at least based off the point of the dub's shown so far anyway).

hes one of those "The ends justifies the means" kind of guy, and last time i checked those are usualy villains, bad guys, or at least against the good guy/protagonist when its a Shonen manga (like bleach).

Tousen would murder babies and/or sloter millions if it was for "the greater good" or for "Justice".

so by shonen manga law, hes a villain.

an example of a character i consider similar to tousen is Light Yagami, hes a ruthless, heartless murderer, but he does it for "the greater good"

another example of the Tousen character would be the entire "World Government establishment" from One Piece, who are Tecnicaly out to preserve order and justice or the greater good, but are villains/evil who happen to wipe entire civilizations and inhabited island of the face of the earth in order to "protect the world"

Ok, I was only making an exagerated example of how the last few eppys have gone. while alot of people have been complaining about how long some of the fights have been going (because of the flash backs and switches between other events), this one wasn't interrupted at all, and ended what could have been a very drawn out fight extremely quick. While White Hair (sorry if I don't know everyone's name) had a very cool looking Bankai that also looked like it could be effective, Aizen ended all of that with little if any ease.

as for the comment by FireStarterLE, i knew it was a joke, just inputting my own bit of dry humor as well.

As for the person who was complaining about being spoiled by other sites, one must remember, that regardless of the efforts to limit copy-righted material on such sites, it is always easy to access, especially with a popular series like Bleach. I was only saying that no matter what pops up on your screen, it is still up to one to click to see it, kind of like the spoiler boxes on this forum.
I only complain when people don't use them, because I don't read the spoiler boxes here, and get tired of people who don't obey those common courtisies. so when people complain about being spoiled by one of the sites that allow others to post what they want just bothers me because we all have a choice of what we will see, and outside of boards with rules like this one, you must take your chances.

The 'White Haired' guy is Captain Toshiro Hitsugaya. And his bankai has a weird name. It translates to Crimson Ring or something. Why have the word 'Crimson' in its name when it is obviously blue. And it is a shame Momo received a sword to her pit (peach joke). She is one of the cutest lieutenants in this anime.

Great episode,in both acting and reveals.....I was already spoiled as to who Bleach's main villains are,though in my case,it's because I read the manga (the English version of which is a bit farther along than the anime...it's already into the next story arc)....I have to say I was surprised when I first learned that Aizen and Tosen were villains (not Gin so much,since he already was pretty evil in my mind)....

Even knowing it was going to happen,I still cringed when Aizen stabbed Momo....that was just so cruel....

Also,I was having trouble remembering what/how much Isuru knows....I'm going to have to go back to the manga....

and I'm already looking forward to next week's episode...

I was waiting for this episode, though kinda convenient it worked out so all of these big revelations fell into one half-hour (save for the last one, which was hinted at but will be fully revealed next week... it makes the whole arc make sense in a general way, for sure).

The Central 46 in ruins, all the council members killed. Momo okay and tailing Toshiro, still curious of the truth. Aizen's alive, to Momo's delightful relief! Then Aizen kills Momo, revealing he has been working with Gin this entire time! Aizen's apparently been duping all the lieutenants and most of the captains, masking his true strength! And the ending... only leaves one daunting revelation to find out.

Why do Aizen and Ichimaru want Rukia? The truth, and a lot more, still to be revealed next week...

That mess up what happend to momo but that what happend when you think someone is perfect. Instead of momo being so happy and hugging him, she should have ben angry that he put her thougth so much fakeing his death. I don`t mean to sound like a heartless jerk but the girl needs to used her head more often. Althougth it look like it maybe much too late for that now?:sad:

Super late comment but when I first watch this eppy I had the pleasure of nothing being spoiled so I was taken completely be surprise. One of my favorite eppies of any anime. I was in complete shock. Never saw any of it coming. :sweat:

Well, is that screenshot from the TV airing of Bleach or the DVD release? Are the TV and DVD versions of Bleach in Japan different from one another where extra content or reanimated scenes are added to the DVD? ViZ normally get's the DVD version of their shows, such as Naruto, so that could explain why.
