I'm posting this now because I have work tonight. I'll put it in spoiler tags until I get home though so that way you can choose to read my comments about the episode before or after the episode airs.
The comic book cover beginning makes it clear why this episode was saved for last. It says it's issue #52.
Ben and Gwen don't live in the same town here, which seems to indicate that this and Race Against Time are two separate universes (which would explain why Gwen doesn't know magic. Perhaps she and Charmcaster never formed a rivalry in that universe, so she never learned magic). It'll be interesting to see if they have the continuity of everyone knowing Ben's secret in Alien Force or not.
Ben's parents are definitely not as dorky in this episode as in Race Against Time, and not everyone is a plumber in Bellwood, showing that once again this and the live action movie are separate universes. It was hilarious when the dad said the one good thing about their house being destroyed was mom wanting to remodel though.
The series has some continuity with the regular seasons since the bullies mention they saw the heroes at the Little League World Series. I wonder exactly how many parallel universes Ben 10 showed out of these 52 episodes.
Animo at the end makes it clear that they have already broken out of the trap if this is supposed to be in the same continuity as Ben 10 vs. The Negative 10. If this ends up in continuity with Alien Force, then there's a very good chance Charmcaster will be back.
Something tells me that the explosion alone wouldn't destroy Vilgax. All we saw was his armor falling off. I get the feeling he'll be back.

Don't live in the same town? During the marathon on Sunday, it was stated that Ben and Gwen live across town from each other.

As one who saw the live-action movie, thank goodness that the parents act a bit like regular folks in this episode. Only a minute to go.

If the pseudo-Watcher narration at the beginning is any indication, this is just a "what-if" story, similar to Gwen 10. Don't take anything in this episode too seriously.

I'm not, I just said that during Sunday's Ben 10 marathon, that little box thing came up, saying that Ben and Gwen live across town from each other.

So, the story ends with everyone knowing that Ben is an alien superhero. Nice touch I guess considering most shows usually force the character to keep their identity secret.

Weird, the 'they live in the same town" thing came up at the end of the episode. Does this mean...

Is this episode in continuity?
Anyhoo, it was pretty great. The family knows, everyone treats him with respect, and the teacher's cool with him being a superhero.
Too bad about the house though.
Did anyone else notice that when he notice Gwen's in his class, he didn't look right at her?
The eyes they use in the show don't usually make good eye contact.

Saw her out of the corner of his eye, I suppose. And, despite the comic book ending and beginning, this may be in continuity.

I love the fact that J.T. and Cash got hung on the tree again. LOL I bet of the pros of be open about his powers, Ben's list was:
Save the world
Beat up J.T. and Cash
Do my choirs faster
Beat up J.T. and Cash
Be popular with the ladies
Did I mention beat up J.T. and Cash
Actully that type of list, resembles something another 10 year old boy played by Tara Strong said on another network.
Anyway I don't think the world knowing Ben's secret is going to be canon in the next series. I might be someday like it is in Ben 10,000, but not in the immediate future. However his parents knowing is probably going to be the case.

Sheesh, Vilgax was a pansy in this. He and his drones were such punching bags it wasn't funny.
Hmm...I guess we'll just have to wait till Alien Force to see if this is in continuity. If everyone in Alien Force knows Ben's secret, then it is. If nobody does, then it isn't. Simple as that.
But yeah, noted the #52. Obviously supposed to be the last episode, not the Negative Ten 2-parter.

Just saw the episode. It deserved an houar episode. It was good though. I liked seeing Bens dad work together with Grampa Max/Gwen/Ben and seeing all the wacky stuff. I hope they keep the community of every one knowing his secret. I think that would be great if they did that. I mean hey they kept Gwens powers in it and Bens I'm going Heroe in it from the previews, so why not this? I was glad Ben got revenge on those bullies in the end and got respect he deserved :D
Over all yah good episode can't wait for the second series.

This was a very interesting episode and a fitting conclusion to the first chapter of the series.
I like the PPG-esque situation at the end with the teacher telling the hero to go fight the bad guys. That could have been an amusing premise for another branch to the franchise but Alien Force might cover some of that as well.
I hope it is in continuity but we'll just have to wait and see.

Not a bad show. The story seemed a little weak but fun, and since it was "many way it could be told", I did like how it finally ended with everyone knowing, yet now Gwen's in the same school, so Ben's still going to have his ego deflated from time to time.

Agreed. The guy survived a missile explosion in that flashback of Max's, Being blasted by space fighters in the beginning of the series, crash landing in his torn up spaceship, being flung through space by Way Big, and being trapped in the null void with all of those imprisoned space monsters. And what finally kills him off: A gas explosion? Wow. That's just....a very rushed way of writing him off.

Watch the episode again. It shows that Vilgax's armor is blasted off. It does not show that Vilgax is killed. His armor could be destroyed with him surviving.

All it showed in Teen Titans was Slade's mask burning in lava. That didn't mean that he wasn't dead. :p

No, he said that because we only saw Vilgax's armor burning, he may be alive. I'm arguing that he's probably dead, the show just couldn't get away with showing it in full so they gave heavy implication ala Slade, who did in fact die in Aftershock Part Two.
At least I hope he's dead anyway. There's only so much Vilgax can do before he gets boring.

To me trying to get rid of Vilgax is like trying to immobilize a zombie by pushing it...he'll get up and go after you:sweat: . Plus he's so lucky in finding ways to escape...

Interesting episode but probably not in continuity due to the comic book style opening and ending. Hell if nothing else this could very possibly be the future that leads to Ben ten and Ken Ten since the creators have already stated that's an alternate future. If this episode is not part of the main cannon.
So theres the main Ben Ten Time line which is most of Ben ten and Alien Force, the Gwen ten universe, the race Against time universe and the one Universe that creates Ken ten. The writers and staff of this show really do love their comics I must say, I'm like going to expect a "Crisis of Infinite Bens" sometime in the future the way this is going.

Yeah, placing this episode take place in the Ken 10 universe does make sense, since in that universe, everyone on the planet knows Ben's a hero, and this episode shows how that started.

And that Ben 10,00 future is possible to happen.
Ben 10's continuity is a mess. There are 4-6 alternate timelines floating around in it.

I could see both happing. I mean in the Ben 10, 000 episode there was a fact that said there will be some thing that happens to Ben when he's 15 years old to make him this way. Maybe will find out here in this second series what that is. Also in another fact they said Kevin might still become Kevin 11, 000 that sure would be intresting if that happened. It means Kevin may some time in the future betray Ben, that would be an intresting twist for the show. I hope both time lines are connected to this series :)

I finally got to watch this. Not bad, I liked how it was just a possible ending similar to the episode with Gwen 10.
Ben's pop is much better in this than he was in Race Against Time. But he's a sanitation engineer? Geez, no wonder Ben isn't a big fan of his. I guess somebody's gotta do it, though. It would've been nice for him to say something like he was just following in his old man's footsteps (ie, a plumber) though he got it totally wrong.
I was a little disappointed in the cops, too. I mean, Ben's father and Gwen are more handy with weapons that the police? Though I was momentarily impressed when Vilgax's robots appeared to wipe out a couple of squad cars (Vilgax being evil and all) but then they managed to limp away afterwards.

Race Against Time? What's that (nudge nudge, wink wink, say no more...)?

Yeah, but I did like what he said later before nailing Vilgax, that semi-mocking "So much for all my hard work..."
