The original is far and away the best for me, followed by Advanced Battle and Master Quest.

Anything post-4Kids is forgettable, IMHO.

The orignal was great, but my favorate is the 4th theme. It was kind of a throw back of the original theme. It was less corny than the orignal, so that's why it's #1 for me.

For me, it's tie between the Johto League Championships opening, Advance Challenge and Advance Battle. I do love the first opening for pure nostalgia, but there are better themes out there.

I completely agree with you on how anything post-4Kids is forgettable. While the new theme song is a much needed improvement over the horrible theme from last season, the songs from PUSA don't have the same kind of energy that a good portion of some of the 4Kids openings. The Battle Frontier came close to being like that though.

I enjoy them all, but my favorites from the 4Kids era include Pokemon Johto (Season 3), I Want to Be a Hero (Season 6), and Unbeatable (Season 8)

I also like both the Battle Frontier and Battle Dimension themes as well.

All of them are pretty upbeat, and songs about heroes and making a difference. Corny to some, sure, but my kind of lyrics! :)

Pokemon theme:
Everything that can be said about this has been. 9/10

Pokemon World:
A nice catchy song, but overall forgettable. 5/10

Pokemon Johto:
Nothing wrong with it, but it doesn't stand out too much. 3/10


Born to be a winner:
The fourth Japanese theme was also a callback to the first. Other than that tidbit, this just sounds too much like Master Quest. 4/10


Master Quest:
It suffers the same problem as the previous song. It kind of blurs together with the previous. 5/10


I wanna be a hero:
This is an inferior version of Unbeatable. 7/10


Dreams:
This is, by far, the most forgettable theme. 1/10


Unbeatable:
This is my personal favorite. It's fast, powerful, and energetic. 10/10


Battle Fontier:
There's just something that feels "off" about this song. It would be great, otherwise. 4/10


D/P:
This song is jarring next to all of the others. 1/10


We will be heroes:
You know the song "Young Forever" from DDR? I can't listen to this song without expecting the chorus of that song to start playing. 3/10

I voted for season's 1-5 openings.

I would've picked season 8, but the Japanese one is SO much better.

I decided to listen to all Pokemon theme songs. I kind of made it into a competition. The best song would be the one that is basically worth hearing in repeat mode and doesn't include the word "Pokemon". I know it sounds stupid, but to me a good theme song without the shows name is worth more because then I can listen to it my car, MP3 player, or anywhere else without being made fun of.
Well, every song had the word "Pokemon" in it. So, I guess I can't do that.
To tell you the truth everything 4kids made sounded awesome...I mean theme song-wise. Some songs are better than other. I like the second one better than others because I remember liking it the first time I heard it. Plus it's fast paced.

Anything that came after 4kids, was bull crap. I have to give PokemonUSA credit for trying to be different since every Pokemon song before it sounded similar: their first theme song just stereotypes rap songs and the other one is sung by girl. That's kind of breaking tradition. PUSA songs are horrible songs. I haven't seen their dub but hopefully it makes up for the songs.

Come to think of it, hasn't pretty much every Pokemon theme in the show's history been written by John Loeffler? If that's the case, then I wonder just how much freedom he gets as regards to putting a theme together, seeing as how all the PUSA themes sound radically different than those by 4Kids.

Of all the themes out there, the Celebi movie version of Johto League Champions (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4DDCtxhOoRE) is my favorite.

As for the TV themes, I've always liked Pokemon World about the best (despite its lack of popularity) followed closely by Advance Battle and Johto League Champions.

The rest of 4Kids' themes are all excellent, though. Just not quite as exceptional as Pokemon World, I'm Unbeatable, and Born to be a Winner. I think my least favorite 4Kids' theme would be I Wanna Be A Hero. Again, really not bad, just not as good as the rest.

I can't stand PUSA's openings, save for the latest one. They each suffer from the same thing PUSA's dub does - it sounds like a fan dub imitating the 4Kids' version. Albeit a very well made fan dub, but it all still comes off feeling very unpolished and amateurish. The casting and VA work, in general, is decent considering their time constraints, but again, the overall production feels like something done by a group of unprofessional fans in a makeshift studio.

I admire them because they seem much more concerned with fan input than 4Kids ever would be, and I really hate praising 4Kids if for no reason other than I do believe they're a rather evil company with absolutely no artistic or creative merit (save for perhaps a handful of employees)... but at the end of the day, at least 4Kids' product always maintained a certain level of profession with it.

That said, I really do quite like PUSA's newest opening for Battle Dimension - it actually manages to capture back some of that professional feel and is written well enough (although, again, the title "Battle Dimension, Pokemon" tacked on the end of the song feels much more obtrusive than anything 4Kids made). Still haven't had the chance to check out DuArt's take on the dub, and I'm not expecting much change in quality, but I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt.

I thought the Season 2 opening would have been alright, but after they shortened it to like 20 seconds… it just was completely useless once they started doing that.

I liked the orginal the best. Followed by a whole new World, that one was great. Than the Organge Islands one was ok. After that it startd going down hill. I also liked Jhoto Champions song.

Gun to head, I'd say Meowth's Party. I know it's not really a theme, per se, but it's still really neat to hear Nyasu's Party performed in English.

I'd rate "Whole New World" the highest, closely followed by the first one and "Born To Be A Winner". I didn't really like "Pokemon World" all that much, nor the majority of the Hoenn ones (I'm personally surprised that so many people like "Unbeatable"; that one's rhythm just feels really awkward to me). And the PUSA stuff is just barf-worthy (although I will admit that I kinda liked the movie version of Diamond & Pearl's theme).

The first is the best and I don't think its just my nostalgia its just epic and very well done.

I've enjoyed them all mostly and I like D/P one a lot besides being short it ranks high on my list.

1st and 2nd Opening. It's just hard NOT to love those. The 1st Opening just brings back so many good memories. And the 2nd had a catchy beat to it.

I really, really liked the Jhoto's "Whole New World" theme. It's just got such a nice catchy and beaty feel to it.
