Jellystone's Favorite Son has starred in multiple series just like fellow H-B stablemates Scooby Doo and The Flintstones. Some were pretty good while others are better left forgotten. How does each one rank?

The Yogi Bear Show (1961-63)
Yogi's Gang (1973-75)
Yogi's Space Race (1978-79)
Galaxy Goof-ups (1978-79)
Yogi's Treasure Hunt (1985-86)
The New Yogi Bear Show (1988-89)
Fender Bender 500 (1990)
Yo Yogi! (1991-92)

Definitely the original ones are the only ones for me.

Yogi's Treasure Hunt was my favorite Yogi Show. I don't see why Boomerang doesn't this show in the regular rotation. It was more fun than Yogi's Gang, and didn't have the preachy 'protect the environment' message shoved down our throats.

Yogi's Treasure Hunt
The New Yogi Bear Show
Fender Bender 500
Yo Yogi!
The original shorts
Yogi's Gang

The rest I don't care to rank because I didn't care enough to watch them all the way through.

- The original Yogi shorts (Huckleberry Hound/Yogi Bear Shows)
- Yogi's Treasure Hunt
- Galaxy Goof-Ups/Yogi's Space Race
- The New Yogi Bear Show
- Fender Bender 500
(Much further down the list)
- Yogi's Gang
(Somewhere buried in a landfill)
- Yo Yogi (mumbles something about "Magilla Ice" and shuddering)

Scoobyrox, no offense but is there a reason you rate yogi's gang over the original? As for me, it goes yogi bear (original), new yogi bear show, laff a lympics, yogi's gang, yo yogi. Havent seen the other ones yet though.

There's no denying the classics from the 50's should be at the top of the list. I won't disagree.

As for the rankings, from 2 on down.....

2. Yogi's Treasure Hunt (1985). This was pretty much "Yogi's Gang" crossed with 1978's "Popeye's Treasure Hunt" segment from the "All-New Popeye Hour". Yogi vs. Dick Dastardly, round 1.

3. Yogi's Gang (1973, preceded by Yogi's Ark Lark a year earlier). While we remember the class of '73 best for Super Friends & Speed Buggy, that same year, H-B decided that Yogi and his pals and the Addams Family (over on NBC) would be champions of the environment. Boomerang is playing "Gang" to death 7 days a week when it should be weekends-only, but that's for another post.

4 (tie): Fender Bender 500 (Wake, Rattle, & Roll, 1990) and Yogi's Space Race (1978) and Scooby's All-Star Laff-a-Lympics (1977). All variations on the same theme. FB500 was round 2 of Yogi vs. Dastardly.

7. New Yogi Bear Show (1988). They tried recapturing the magic of the original, as they did 3 years earlier with the Jetsons & Jonny Quest, but it wasn't quite as successful.

8. Yo, Yogi! (1991). Why did they bother?

None taken. I didn't grow up watching these cartoons, I just have a love for the classics and Yogi's Gang was the first Yogi cartoon I saw. It inspired me to watch the original Yogi and all of the other character's shows as well. So even though the original is technically better, I have to put Yogi's Gang high up on the list. :)

I mentioned this in another thread but it seemed that H-B just didn't know what to do with Yogi after his original series ended.

1. Huckleberry Hound Show/The Yogi Bear Show (1958-63)

NOTHING beats the original Yogi shorts.

2. New Yogi Bear Show (1988)

While they are nowhere near as good as the original shorts, I find them to be (mostly) enjoyable.

3. Laff-A-Lympics (1977)

Classic series.

4. Yogi's Treasure Hunt (1985)

This is what Boomerang should be showing in rotation instead of Yogi's Gang.

5. Yogi's Space Race (1978-79)

Really liked this as a kid, not so much as an adult. Still a decent series.

6. Yogi's Gang (1973)

The idea of a coming together of classic H-B characters is something I like. The characters as preachy environmentalists is not.

7. Galaxy Goof-Ups (1978-79)

8. Yo, Yogi! (1991)

Pure crap.

Haven't seen Fender Bender 500 since I was a kid and don't remember much from it, so I can't rank it.

I always enjoyed the movies more than the tv shows. I love Yogi's First Christmas.

Yogi Bear (Original)
Yogi's Treasure Hunt

Galaxy Goof-Ups
Fender Bender 5000
Yo Yogi

All-Star Laff-a-lympics should count among the Yogi Bear series. It would also count among the Scooby-Doo series as well.

Laff-A-Lympics was a potpourri show showcasing several Hanna Barbera stars. IMO, it can't really be counted as a Yogi Bear show or a Scooby Doo show.

From best to worst, eh?

Well, let me try (and give a reason why):

The Huckleberry Hound Show shorts: The original Yogi Bear shorts that pretty much introduced the character.

The Yogi Bear Show: Cemented the character as a superstar for his generation.

Yogi's Treasure Hunt: Yogi's Gang without the preachiness and a better supporting cast. Also set up Dick Dastardly and Muttley as their ultimate villian.

The New Yogi Bear Show: They really tried, and it was somewhat better than I expected them to be.

Yogi Bear in Aladdin: The Arabian Tales short was pretty good.

Fender Bender 5000: Wacky Races with classic HB characters. Pretty fun shorts.

Yogi's Space Race: Wacky Races . . . in SPACE! Actually better than the accompanying show starring the character. The dual nature of the main villain/ultimate hero was pretty original.

Galaxy Goof-Ups: Put two classic characters, add the vocal talents of Mel Blanc, and bring in a spacey disco theme and you've got something that went terribly, terribly wrong.

The cameo on A Pup Named Scooby-Doo: Looked like Yogi. Acted like a real bear.

Yogi's Gang: Before PC became a buzzword backwards-thinking bigots love to use towards people that care too much, this show defined political correctness.

Yogi Bear's All-Star Christmas: Not really a series, but I have to ask, why'd they censor the word Hanukkah?

The Ranger Smith Shorts: Paranoid and delusional. Not really great.

Yo Yogi: "Ooh! Ooh! Let's make our classic animal characters into kids too just to come full circle. And let's make them 1990s cliches. Oh, and let's have fun with 3D. Kids love it!" Ugh . . .
