Well, the season season of Shin-Chan starts tomorrow at midnight Eastern on AS. And to top it off, its a parody of Star Wars. How will this episode fare compared to the more popular parodies from Family Guy and Robot Chicken? Tune in.

Seriously.
I could make it through the first half and that was it.
I might try watching it again tomorrow but seriously.
The FUNi writing staff tried way too hard and became full of themselves with this.
I love the actual Shin episodes but this was stupid.

Shin Chan did the Star War parody long and I mean long before Family Guy or Robot Chicken, before Robot Chicken even excisted, so I don't want to hear they ripped any of these shows off.

Family Guy and Robot Chicken can't touch Shin Chan's Star Wars parody (and zoombie's right: there's did come first so really they could bust on FG and RC for this actually) , without getting a pretty big WTF feeling. I mean really even if all the drug and most of the sex jokes were just dub add ins you'd still have put between your pants light saber battle, mixing up all three movies and merging/twisting the characters (Shin's grandfather being Obi Wan but getting the Han Solo carbonite treatment, the pig switching sides out of the blue, and of course the end where they reveal they all lost they're memories on a space family vacation and prinicpal ench was the emperor who just went back to school). Still though it was pretty funny. Mainly all the prequal disses (Mentioning the second set of movies not being understood in japanese, Darth Bader mentinoing killing a hot pregnent Natillie Portman, Miso being Jar Jar and everyone disliking him, the 28 year old reveal not being worth it and the prequal line) and there were some other pretty good jokes (the penis shaped ship, Shin not living with a real aunt and uncle, Labia changing the imaging of her hologram to look hotter, the kids as the ewoks, the dog being happy to speak again, etc etc) but a lot of parts more weirded me out then amused me. Still probably overall more enjoyable then FG and RC parodies since there weren't any ridiciolous padded out scenes and they bothered parodying the material more then just staying the course with it.

I do have a question for the Shin Chan fans, while this may or may not concern the episode in question I asked it on the Anime board, but no one wants to answer, but how old is Mimiko? Is she a pre teen or a teenager? She seems to act like a teenager, but she looks so much younger, she is not that much taller than Shin in the classic "The End Of A Dream Is Always An Eye Openier" opening when along with Action Mask they all dance together.

I was expecting a lot more from the review saying it was great, but I was dissapointed. Still not too bad tho. The Lightsaber battles were a little weird for my taste

This was really funny, especially Ham Solo going "and, I always shoot first!" Though, the lightsaber fights were kinda lame. :/
8/10 from me.

Best. Episode. Ever. :anime:
I loved this parody. It combined all three Star Wars films.

Was it just me or did they fail to sensor the last time they said "Wee$%#@" (rhymes with Ewoks)?
It was a nice episode overall.

I loved it too. The part when Mitzy was breast feeding Hima, and Shin said "This is turning me on, I hope we are not sisters", that was so funny.
The rod enlargement joke, "Everybody is doing it". This was a classic.

MORE HONOR! MORE PENIS!
Hey! I liked Thumb Wars! ...though Thumbtanic was better.
"Experience the dank side of the foot!"
Any-Wan Canblowme. Ha ha.
Meth Star... so now they're making drug references.
"Do you know what I'm stopping you for?"
"I don't know. Is it because I'm PINK?!"
"Yes."
Where IS that princess?
"Nice mask."
"Thanks. It's from Darth Skymall."
Well, that's a creative way to hold a light saber.
Masturbation joke.
YTD2's got a bad feeling about things.
"Oh, no, we're catering to a younger demographic."
Booby booby booby booby!
"Mr. Sandman's a d*ck" could be their new tagline.
"Jet pack time!"
"They wouldn't treat Sir Alec Guinness like this!"
Onetwothree FOUR FIVE sixseveneight NINE TEN eleven twelve!
Those are the happiest TIE fighters I've ever seen.
It's not the size of your light saber that counts, it's how you use it.
"My lightrod's so big, so long and so yellow, there's nothing my lightrod can't do!"
Hey, it's Senator Ench from the prequels!
Boo = Jar Jar.
That's a worse design flaw than an exhaust port two meters wide!
To be prequeled...

I liked it and thought it was very well done.
The only thing I didn't care for was the pig jokes they made. They just went overboard with it I thought. Other then that the jokes were pretty good and I found myself laughing quite a bit.
You know Spike was airing Empire Strikes Back and I was watching. I also saw the Family Guy Star Wars special last weekend and last Friday I saw on Gametrailers TV that new Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Video Game.
Wow talk about Star Wars overload.

This show is so repetitious. I can only take so many MITZI IS FLAT AND SHIN POOPS A LOT jokes. Really.

It was okay. They seemed to be trying too hard with the jokes, though.

I actually enjoyed this special. I thought it was a hilarious parody of Star Wars. Too bad Kyle Hebert doesn't get to do FUNi roles regularly, cause knowing how much he loves Star Wars, I bet he'd love to have gotten the chance to be in something Star Wars related.

Juvenile, repetative, nonsensical, and hilarious.
Shin, it's good to have you back. :D

They were trying a bit too hard in this episode. Everything was a sex joke. Jeez. Know when to set a limit.
Also, it seems there were a few cuts for time in this episode, like when Mitzi punches Buriburizaemon in the third act. It's an old, old episode so I guess a longer runtime wasn't unexpected.

Quick question, was the CGI always been there or was that just something that FUNi added later? It seems recent and a contrast to the old animation.

Yeah, the poop jokes were part of the original series as well (if the official translation of the manga that's currently coming out is accurate, which it seems to be).

Maybe they added it to make fun of the special editions Lucas keeps putting out?

It was okay it reminded me too much of star balls though. I actually had to fast forward some scenes when I as watching it because it was so unfunny.

Imagine if they showed it on the Friday they 4th like they were going to. Then youd see Shin Wars the day before th FG rerun.

I hope in the new season, the Saitama Scorpians appear. They are funny, and would like to hear the FUNimation take on them. Hopefully as funny as Yonro.

Yeah I think it was originally suppose to be a 27 minute episode, and it had to be shrunken down to 22 minutes. Im sure the full version will be in the DVD when and if they release it.

I never saw the Family Guy parody so I can't compare. I didn't really find this episode very funny at all. Maybe the time for Star Wars parodies has long since passed. I didn't really find the Robot Chicken parody all that funny, either.
I guess the only stories from Shin Chan that I really find funny are the Action Bastard and Ench Man ones. The Lupin III parody was okay, too, but Action Bastard is hilarious!

That's basically how I feel about Shin Chan as a whole though I also enjoy "Party, party, join us, join us".
There were some jokes I liked in this special: Hentai mind trick, the ewok kids, the cantina being a gay bar. The rest of the humor was so forced (no pun intended) that there were many times where I wanted to vomit (even Assy McGee, another show I don't like, doesn't do that); it's that insulting. Spaceballs did a much better job spoofing Star Wars with adult themes spread out. Watch 20 minutes of any part of Spaceballs and you'll see a better spoof.
One last thing: Watching this, I now realize who Crayon Shin Chan is geared towards. It's not for adults. It's for kids who think they're adults. The type who stay up past their bedtime to watch something naughty ("OMG, they keep saying "boobie", that is so adult."). It's like Beavis and Butthead for a new generation for preteens and teens alike.
Spaceballs... ...and mostly with the schwartz joke.
Actually, there was a hentai parody with that title. Lucas sued unsuccessfuly to keep it from being distributed.
I've never seen it, but comparing this episode to porn doesn't give me a lot of hope.

Actually, if you watch very closely, you can see them go by the Tran-Tina on speeders at the beginning of the episode.
