What are the chances of them greenlighting more comic strip show/ They've aired Baby Blue, plus Boondocks seems to have been successful so far.

And if they were to greenlight and acquire toons based off a comic strip, which ones would be Adult Swim material?

I'd say "For Better Or For Worse" would work. It's dealt with some mature issues and has had some characters growing up through the series. Plus the drawing style doesn't seem like it would be expense to produce.

If only 'Meet Nemi' was popular in America.

Teletoon actually already produced an animated adaptation of FBOW a few years ago. The less said about it the better.

I'd personally love to see a Bloom County/Outland animated series on [adult swim]. Also, new episodes of Sam & Max: Freelance Police. I've been wanting to see that happen for a while now, actually.

Too bad Williams Street couldn't acquire The Tick from Disney's clutches.

Pearls Before Swine, definitely. The creator mentioned he may be bringing it to tv, but with the way the strip is, AS would probably be the only one it would survive on.

I'm sure The Tick may have some innuendos, but if they aren't interest in putting any of the Timmiverse or Spielberg toons on there (in which acquiring would be little problem), then The Tick doesn't seem like something they'd care for either.

Hell. Yes.

Especially after they tore Family Circus a new one.

I don't see why [adult swim] couldn't air The Tick (aside from the obvious ownership issues). [as] aired The Ripping Friends and Minoriteam for a time, so while straightforward superhero shows are out, superhero spoofs seem right up their alley.

I remember seeing the "For Better or For Worse" Christmas special when I was a kid and liking it...but I don't remember there being a tv show for it...How long was it?I used to love reading the comic when I was a kid (scurries over to amazon to see if it's been collected *yay!*)

Count me in for wanting a Pearls Before Swine TV series....That comic is hilarious, and if there was an animated adaption,I could easily see it coming to Adult Swim...

I also think Foxtrot would make a decent animated series, though it's more "family friendly" (kinda in the vein of "The Simpsons")...

I don't know. Foxtrot's main problem is that the only good jokes stem from the youngest kid, Jason. If he's not causing mayhem with the other siblings, or doing something incredbily odd, the strip's kind of... bland.

Non Sequitor would make a good AS show, if done right. That kind of has a 'Home Movies' feel to it.

Dilb-...... Right ;) Dilbert could have been a good show to put on adult swim, but it's not that edgy like some of the other things.

How about Hagar or Doonesbury?

Ironically, I just finished watching the complete series on DVD, and that and The Critic, while *occasionally* straying into adult humor, were both veryveryveryveryvery clean compared to what's being offered in terms of adult oriented Network animation today.

Having said that, Dilbert would make a great filler show for AS, and it's got just enough episodes to have a nice little run.

Hagar the Horrible would just resemble a viking version of the flintstones (do they even show him going on raids anymore?), and Doonesbury (which did have an animated special in the 1970s) would have to be significantly changed (less political humor, and definitely no more talking presidents with only a static shot of the whitehouse as the visual. An animated version of Monty could work though.

How about Hagar or Doonesbury?

There was a Hagar the Horrible prime time animated special titled Hagar the Horrible: "Hagar Knows Best" that aired on CBS on November 1, 1989. It's ratings weren't so hot, so CBS never repeated it.

Doonesbury I could probably see. I think Hagar would be a tad too mild for [adult swim], though.

I'd like to see a Zits cartoon. It'd be lighter than AS's usual fare, but the show would more reign over what they get away with. I mean, the comic's already pretty much gotten away with some partial nudity.

Fox was going to create a Zits live action sitcom, kind of in the vein of Arrested Development and Malcolm in the Middle back in the day I think, but it never panned out.

Correction. Too bad that Ben Edlund hasn't done anything with the character since the live action show tanked. Disney only owns the cartoon series, not the characters. If Ben wanted to, I'm sure he'd make a new Tick animated series for a more adult market. If he wanted to.

Get Fuzzy would be great.

If I could also add webcomics to the mix, I would vouch for Penny Arcade, We the Robots, VGCats, or Ctrl+Alt+Del. I think it would appeal to the audience adult swim already has. Girl Genius would be awesome.

I'd also like to Perry Bible Fellowship or The Far Side, but I'm not sure what format that'd be in (probably close to Robot Chicken).

There is plenty of untapped potential out on the internet that would make good shows.

I think Sluggy Freelance would make a great show (a better Anime perhaps)..

Schlock Mercenary is a good Sci-Fi action comedy:

Something Positive is filled with Dark Humor:

Goats. Heh:

Errant Story (definately would make a good anime series):

S&B, I've read, want to perp Zits as a live action property, but, this time,as a movie, and with total control over its production. They're not cool w/an animated version because of the truism "too many cooks spoil the broth".

Gotta second Sluggy Freelance. I've been thinking that, if it was given a half-hour ala Venture Brothers, it would be a great fit for [as] (with continuity toned down a bit, though). Heck, a lot of Sluggy's storylines could fit pretty well into a half-hour episode with very little cut out or added in.
