Last time: We found out the reason why Soi Fong hates Yoruichi..which is because Yoruichi left the Soul Society after making a promise with Soi Fong who looked up to Yoruichi so much. Oh and the battle ends quick with Soi Fong crying to death.. but after that the battle with Ichigo and Byakuya continued! Ichigo is now asking Byakuya to bring out his bankai.. but.. is Ichigo making the right move??

This fight is one of my favorites, along with this episode. Ichigo releasing his Banaki [which I actually like the look of] is awesome. Yay for outfit changes.
I wish they would just focus on the fight though. I really don't care about what Orihime is up to.

Wished there was more to the fight in this episode, but a lot of it was buildup and suspense. Still, it was a lot more interesting to watch than the last episode, especially once Ichigo used bankai. And the side events weren't that intrusive this time around, only the ones that seemed to matter took up the most time.

Ichigo was pretty badass. The outfit change rocked, though I liked the look he was styling before. Shinigami fashion show :p Him standing with his sword at Byakuya's throat was an awesome moment. Loved it.

And it was nice to see Orihime, Ishida, Chad, and Ganju again. I got a good laugh at the argument over how the phrase went.

Things definitely have picked up. Yay for awesomeness.

I wish they would just focus on the fight though. I really don't care about what Orihime is up to.
While I agree on the former. I rather see what Orihime, Uryu, Chad, & Ganju are up to than having to see Toshiro the white haired wonder. Why? Because I actually like them, the first two are two of my favorites, I don't like White Head nor his sidekick Busty McBreasts whatsoever. This whole game of Whodunit maybe interesting for some but to me it's distracting us from the main plot of the arc. I want to see Ichigo fight some people, not a bunch of characters I have no interest in point fingers at eachother to solve the death of another character I don't care about at this point. And with all honesty the only Soul Reapers that I like are Rukia, Renji, Ukitake, Shunsui, and all of Squad 11. Every other Soul Reaper can get eaten by Unicron for all I care.

BTW, I already know what the big twist is. I spoiled myself last year. Damn that Wikipedia for being so spoilerific.

Anyway, about the episode. It was nice to see Orihime and the others after so long. The bit about the old saying was great, reminds me of when Orihime, Chad, & Uryu speculated on what Kukaku looked like way back. We haven't seen what I like to call an Orihime Moment since episode 42. This is why I love her so much, she can easily toggle between being a serious character and silly character whenever the writers' needs to.

After over a year of waiting, Ichigo & Byakura finally square off. And it look's like Byakura has underestimated Ichigo's strength. Which of course caused many shocked reaction shots of him. Ichigo's bankai form is awesome, the black zanpakto makes him intimidating and the jacket gives for a badass appearance. I can't wait to see how it unfolds.

The preview was pretty funny, like whenever Orihime is involved with it. "You can't twist a genkai!"

Ichigo's fight with Byakuya is the best fight ever:D which his Bankai is awesome to crush that rotten jerk Byakuya & its funny when he shows his shocked reactions for once when Ichigo is about to beat him.

Glad I wasn't the only one thinking that...in fact it was exactly like Gaara vs Rock Lee! Hmm..superfast speed guy running circles around guy with giant shifting attack/defense wall of little particles that change shape, yep sounds pretty darn similar. Still it worked on Naruto and worked just as good here, its a very entertaining fight so far.

Plus I'm all for cutaways to Orihime being cute pretty much anytime they want to throw one in there :D.

For me, it was the Wii game. A few seconds after beginning story mode, I deeply regretted renting it so early. Until I saw some subs and read the manga from beginning to volume22.

Well, Ichigo and Byakuya finally get down to biz, and we see Ichigo get super cocky. Fighting a Bankai without using his, he did well enough to shock the hell out of Byakuya. And while I didn't notice it at first, this did have a Garra/ Rock Lee element to it. As for the other characters, while others may not have liked breaking away to them, I feel it was important and reletive to show at least glimpses of them to remind us that not only other stuff is going on, but that they are also witness to the fight we all wanna see.

I just find it funny that the hero group (Chad and co.) are going to where Ichigo is to rescue Rukia, and her and Renji are long gone from that area. My only gripe, is that while everyone is concentrating on Ichigo's fight, it seems like everyone forgot about old man Yama, who is supposed to be superstrong. everyone should be flipping out on all the spiritual pressure from BOTH fights.

Okay, I get this is Ichigo's show, and that as the main character not only is he entitled to the longest transformation sequence with the largest amount of flashbacks, and that this moment has been anticipated since Bankai was first introduced, and the fact that we finally do get to see the true power of his Zanpaktou, but really they could of handled the whole Bankai transformation sequence better. Like in the manga where it's a whole lot less fuss and just showing him transform. Still though I do like the whole idea of him gaining incredible superspeed with just a little black sword (also think that he's the main character and his bankai is one we'll probably see the most of and that it'd have to be smaller since we'll see it animated so much) and disappearing from Byakua's sight and putting his sword around the neck. Not so much him just taking it off. As Byakua said, really dumb move. You know for someone whose so interested in just saving Ruika Ichigo sure has a whole lot he wants to prove. Yeah he's in it to save everyone but you also gotta figure he's in it to showcase off his new power more then he should. Still though nice moment stabbing Byakuya at the end and hey at least the flower dodging and running were animated well (that's why it's one of those essitanal eps for Bleach AMVs you know).

The rest of show in truth really dosen't float my boat. They really could of saved the whole Momo and Hitsaguya scenes for after the fight's actually over instead of trying to shoe horn them in here. And I really don't care for Orihimie and co's comedy relief actions. Maybe if they were doing something more useful but uh really they aren't... like at all. I mean really shouldn't this one have showcased more of the fight and less of the zaniness or was that really so necessary to break up the action? Eh decent I guess though really could of been better, espically seeing it the second time through.

I’ve been watching Bleach since about episode 50, so I’m a fairly new watcher.

But Ichigo’s Bankai is my favorite out of all the Bankai’s I’ve seen. I’m a big fan of speed attacks. I know all about the great advantages of speed. It’s great for attacking and defending. It’s like they always say, “Speed Kills.”

Plus, Ichigo look like such a gentleman when he uses his Bankai. I like that. And the black sword… just pure awesomeness.

And he still managed to run Byakuga through. Finally getting to the meat of the plot hopefully means more eyes on the TV. Meanwhile, midget and ****y McGee are off trying to do something, and the sidekicks (Glasses Archer, token minority, idiot bomb guy, Mini Mustache, and the Ditz) are going towards the battle, most likely to keep Ichigo from killing Byakuga. I can see it now...

I don't hate Miss Rangiku, as a matter of fact I'm interested to see more of her and her past with Gin Ichimaru. Her commanding officer White Head though, I could care less. I barely see the appeal of the character and I don't get why he's so popular aside from the cliched prodigy angle. He also struck me as a bit arrogant with his line at the captain's meeting before Ichigo & co. broke in. I think it was like, "Great, old people talking" or something to that nature.

As stated before, he gets something small so his is always easy to animate whenever he fights (and come on he's main character: You know he'll have a lot more fights ahead. Kind of his thing and all). The show reason is that it compacts all that power and strength into incredible speed. Since I'm sure it's a lot faster then Giant Snake dragons or posioned babies or blind circles or giant followers or thousands of flowers which are the other bankais we've seen in action so far.

Uh, based off Ichigo's character, I really don't see him trying to kill off someone, even a jerk like Byakuya. I mean he has trouble offing any hollow that talks without hearing it's backstory, I doubt he's really going to kill Ruika's brother. Espically since he already had the chance to and didn't.

I could play the know it all role too since I know what you're referring to. And I'm not saying it's not important since hey even I didn't know I'd know that focusing on it like they are means they are building to it is important. I'm saying that the way they're handling in this epiosde could be better since it is interrupting the big Byakua/Ichigo fight. If this was done before or after that as more of a straight arc then it'd be better but jumping back and forth dosen't really work as well. I can say this knowing what will happen. You'll just have to wait to see the what to know what I'm talking about those of you who aren't in the knowitall know.
