This is the talkback thread for CN Upfront 2008: Thursday Nights to Get Comedy Bloc (http://news.toonzone.net/article.php?ID=22724).
I guess this makes "New Comedy Thursday" all official now. I was wondering if it was going to fade away by summer or not.

Wait, Camp Lazlo's returning? Huh?
Doesn't Lazlo just have some unaired episodes left?
I notice they didn't mention Gym Partner. Has it been cancelled (finally)?

A comedy block on Thursday? Hmm... this is going to conflict with what I normally watch on Thursdays.

Well, there are still some specials that Gym Partner has that will be aired in the future.
As for Lazlo, well the series finale aired last week, so I guess it'll continue to rerun on the block.

Interesting. I'll be sure to take a peek. I wonder about the bummers, if they are to rename the current block.

That's dumb if Lazlo still has eps to air when they aired the series finallie a couple weeks ago
Prolly it's getting replacd by Flapjack come Summer
I kind of hope the "New Thursday Nights" block sticks around as it already is a Thursday comedy block. The packaging is simple but effective and easy on the eyes. Transitions are nice as well.

I guess a name change will be in order.

I agree. It kinda reminds me of NBC's Thursday night comedy or FOX's Sunday night lineup, where all the strong comedies air.

These plans sound interesting.
One question, though: I probably shouldn't be asking this, but: if Thursday nights will be designated for comedy and Friday nights will be for action, then where does this leave Out of Jimmy's Head and Fried Dynamite?
-Someone had to ask.

Yeah, with homework and getting to bed early for school the next day, Thursday is not optimal.
I wonder if their targeted demographic has changed, or this is just a new strategy.

I remember back when I was younger I was to busy going to frind's house and playing video games on Friday nights to watch TV. And I still am.

Thursday is the most watched night of television next to Sunday, so it makes sense to have a block on Thursday night. It's difficult to draw viewers away from the big networks when you go against CSI, Without A Trace, ER, Ugly Betty, Grey's Anatomy, Survivor, Chuck, The Office, Lost, and whatever other shows are thrown out on Thursday night though. They most be going on the belief that most houses have 2 tv's now- one for the kids and one for the adults.

Fried Dynamite will be gone by the end of May, according to me.

Maybe Fried Dynamite will be moved to Thursday (comedy) night instead of Friday. Fried Dynamite is a comedy-inspired block and the shows moving to Thursday came from Friday anyway.

Could be a possibly also, but I don't see it. The Fried Dynamite name is a total pun on the term "Friday Night". They would have to change the name to be a pun of Thursday, which I doubt would happen. And a lot of people like the current format of the current CN Thursday Night bloc.
