Does anyone know how the television industry works, so that we can do something about the fate of Invader Zim? Im going through Zim deprevation here! I know that there isnt much of a chance of getting it back on the air, or putting it on another channel, but COME ON! CANCELLED?! Please, anyone with suggestions, let me know (Im aware its not Adult Swim stuff, but I wish Zim could be on AS). Thanx

I know that this is old news, and that its not even AS material, but I figure that if there is indeed a place out there for Zim, its probably Adult Swim. Plus there isnt a forum I can find for Zim

The AniTainment Board is the perfect place to post ZIM stuff. It's listed twice in the little bar at the bottom of the screen, so it souldn't be too hard to find.

Why was this dumped here? We have a couple ZIM threads as it is. =)

Zim is cool. Nick is stupid. CN and Zim equal we laughing at Nick. Nick dies in 2 years or less.

This may be old news but so what? C-Network will likely pick this show up, seeing how well it went for Nick before 9/11. And as long as they're original, there can be quite a few ZIM topics already. ;)

I heard a rumor that Nick Animation studios was basically shutting it's doors and cancelling SpongeBob Squarepants. Can anyone confirm either of these? I think Zim on CN would be incredible and would rank up there with Ed, Edd and Eddy and Johnny Bravo as the funniest things on the series.

Firstly: Nick is NOT shutting down. It's still going strong, actually. Don't worry....somewhat, since all that'll be left is Klasky-Csuspo toons...:(
...Spongebob's creator is shutting down SBSP for now because, like Matt Groening, he'd like to move on to other projects for now. He doesn't want SBSP to be handled by others and get cruddy like other shows in the same situation. Nick actually was begging SBSP's creator *Tillenburg? Dunno his name* to keep the show running, actually.

Ok, both of those would make more sense than the rumors that had been circulating around, thanks a bunch BourgeoisBuffoon!
Altho I really enjoy SpongeBob I don't think Nick will be getting watched to much anymore - with Invader Zim and SpongeBob pretty much done with new eps not much is left. Rugrats can only be watched so many times and a lot of their other stuff is like Action League Now! or some other garbage. They might have better luck throwing their money at a window and just having the screen blank for half and hour than airing this stuff.

Zim is *supposed* to be back on the air... it`s currently running (usually) sundays at 1 in the afternoon (reruns) but unaired episodes in it`s original 9:30 timeslot are supposed to begin in march. Theres about 16 episodes left to air. 17 if you count the christmas special that they`re currently working on (Johnen had to ask nick to let them back in the studios just long enough to finish that one up... after that they`re out of there for good, unfortunately)
I read an e-mail from johnen that was posted on a webpage (real one... theres a lot of fansites that post completely phony mails/chats from him) where he says he`s also doing a four page Zim comic for nickelodeon magazine, so if you wanna physically own a Zim story, keep an eye out for that (I know I will)
And Hot Topic is supposedly releasing a set of plush toys next month.

Although this is an old topic, and some things may have changed since then, all I know is that SpongeBob Squarepants is apparently one of Nickelodeon's most-watched shows.
Spongebob was even listed under the December 31st issue of People Mag. as a Breakthrough of the year.
Yeah, I didn't really understand it myself. I'll admit that I've watched the show a couple of times and I have laughed at its humor.
But I'll agree that Invader Zim is better.
And by the way, just because of my name, I am in no way related to Nickelodeon, nor do I like the channel. I like the name for its punnyness. <.< But that is besides the point. =/

both shows will quit airing new episodes, but we can still expect 10 more episodes of spongebob throughout the year, not to mention all of nicks promos after that. IZ will continue airing new episodes until the end of the season.

Steven's last name is Hillenburg. And if I were Steve and I were leaving Nickelodeon, I'd take SpongeBob with me. The MIO's will squeeze every last drop they can get out of poor little SpongeBob.
