View Full Version : Admit it, Who Here has a tv.com Profile?

It's been considered by many as about as unreliable as Wiki, has a higher amount of spambots, trolls, and underage users than we'd ever think possible, and a severe lack of mods abound.
But, to me, there's just this strong bound that tv.com holds on me that has me spending all my free time on it. Don't know if it's the people, numerous off-topic chats various members and I bring in since the mod's hardly, if ever, visit, reading various opinions of shows and epsidoes from people all over the world, blogging away, actual spellcheck, or submissions, but I just can't bare to leave the site.
Do any of you ever post around their parts? Want to share with us your accounts? Here's mine, BTW (http://www.tv.com/users/darklordavaitor/profile.php?tag=login;myprofile).

I think I have one (only because it was transfered over from the far superior tvtome.com), but I never go there.

They don't do that, you'd have to register to the site on your own; I had to. At first, I thought TVTome was the superior site, but after a while, I started to like tv.com a whole lot more. I like being able to score an episode of a show, among numerous other things.

Hmmm... Maybe I did register. I just remember my editor status for a few shows/people still being intact after the switch, so I was thinking my account was just transfered along with it. In any event, I instantly hated tv.com. I liked the simplistic layout of tvtome.com a lot more and just found it to be much more user friendly.

I have one, but it's been forever since I logged in. I was much more of a regular poster back when it was originaly TVTome. I just lost interest in it, basically.

The link to my tv.com account is on my homepage link on my Toon Zone profile. I'm at Level 21 and am an editor of the Dwayne McDuffie page.

I did when it was TVTome, and 2monhs after tv.com opened
Pretty crummy site w/ n00bs for the most part
To prove how unreliable it is, there was a page on the Ed, Edd n' Eddy page that said a motion picture was gonna be made starring Will Ferrel and Adam Sandler and would have all the parents introduced (They had quotes too, seems like Timbox might have a friend like him). I believed it and I got very sad when I learned it was a lie

Does it count if it also came with me signing up for GameFAQs? If it does then I am guilty of it as well.
I have one. And I'm a Level 6, no less. :p

I have one under the handle "WizardDuck" (my moniker on most other sites). I never use it, because I can't post on the forums for some reason.
Thank God, because the users there are usually either illiterate, spambots, or illiterate spambots. There's even more illiterate people there than on YouTube!

I had an account on tvTOME.com, but I left shortly after tv.com appeared and ruined it. I started up the Robot Jones, Grim & Evil, and Cubix pages, IIRC.
Heck, one site still credits me for some of my work on TVTome:

I do, actually.
Had a TV Tome name as well. Tome was actually the second site I ever joined, in early 2003. I changed my name on there several times as a member, as my interests changed. Later on, I made a couple friends. One of them posts here too, which makes me happy.
After the buyout, I stayed for a while, but the site was always slow on my browser so I quit going and left quietly without announcing it to anyone.

I have one I rarely use. Wasn't aware that there was some sort of social stigma attached to it. I have a few reviews on there, but these days I usually use Wikipedia for TV episode lists and stuff. It's faster.

Hey, to those who do have a profile and still visit, do any of you want to add any substance to how you spend your time on there?

I was a member of the original TV Tome, so I registered. I'm at level 30 now, but I hardly contribute there any more. Just like on here, my user name's Kametsou. Look me up and feel free to add me.

I usually submit a lot of stuff to the Law & order episode guide and Digimon guides. Also Planning on helping out on the gummi bears guide. BTW here's my profile:

I have one but I don't really use it. The only reason I use tv.com is for episode lists which sadly aren't always accurate. anyways here's mine: http://www.tv.com/users/gba99/profile.php?tag=login;myprofile.

You're all kiddin' right? My primary profile is on Tv.com. I've been there since tv tome. I spend most of my online time there. People that I like talk to me there. Anyone that wants to see the real me, i'll give the address for my tv.com profile. (I'm not so much a jerk in real life, so deal with it) I have several animation sites I like to watch, but my Tv.com profile is where I put all my thoughts, no matter how random. it's also one of the few places I can be an editor without pandering to people who are in charge.

I have one because I found their MST3K coverage to be lacking. I'll upload an occasional reference or quote for the earlier episodes as I slowly rewatch them every now and again. It's also where I get episode information to do the Lost talkbacks. No other place I know of can tell you the writers and directors of unreleased episodes.
TV.com is really a good source for basic information, such as episode titles, airdates and crew. They're not totally accurate, but they do try. Unfortunately it's all hyped up and commercialized now, so the pages take forever to load and you have to put up with those enormous banners.

I do. (http://www.tv.com/users/Lonestarr357/profile.php?tag=login;myprofile) I really shouldn't be posting there, though. Out of morbid curiosity, I end up perusing the "Fairly Oddparents" boards mostly. People there actually love the newer episodes, while I count down the seconds to society's imminent end.
I also write reviews (http://www.tv.com/users/Lonestarr357/history.php).

You know, searching your forum posts there from the link you just posted, I see that you once defended the Replacements against someone who came on to it's board and bashed it.
Yet here you are now, going to The Fairly Oddparents board and bashing it.
Geez, I don't care for the newer episodes either, but you must admit that your behavior is seeming more and more hypocritical.

The all-important difference here is that the people who bashed "The Replacements" never liked that show, whereas I'm just appalled at how far "Fairly Oddparents" has fallen from the gut-busting first season.

That doesn't mean you need to imply that viewers enjoying FOP are stupid. Lack of civility is often an act of stupidity as well.
