Straight from CH Greenblatt's blog (http://nerdarmada.blogspot.com/2007/11/what-is-chowder.html).

I always figured he had some raccoon in him.

You saw Chowder's giant nipples, you can't un-see them

No, silly. Panini is obviously a...prabbit. Which is like a rabbit, but slightly different.

What? I'd bet anything that they've given some some weird species they just made up by slightly tweaking the word "rabbit".

I always thought that Chowder was a cat and Panini was a rabbit. Nice to see the truth but I can't say the same for Chowder's nipples.

I always thought that Chowder was a cat and Panni was a rabbit too. From that picture, I can see more of a rabbit, a bear and a bit of a raccon in him. Interesting. The drawing is kind of cute. Weird but aside from the large nipples, it looks kind of cute.

So I'm guessing the females of their species possess the more overtly rabbit-y features then, since Panini looks like a full-on rabbit to me. In fact, I thought she was just a rabbit before I read Greenblatt's blog.

I think he just threw that in there so people wouldn't hound him about what species she is. Besides, it's his creation so even if she doesn't show signs of being like Chowder, it's official because he said so.

I will say, looking at that picture... A), I've seen worse (think King Hippo on Captain N) and B) I could safely say He could pass for a Tanooki.

Greenblatt reffers to Chowder as "cat, bear, rabbit...thingie". I rather he'd
said a "cat, bear, rabbit...hybrid". To me that's a much better term that using such a low intelligent term as "thingie". Another term would be "Wuzzle" , but
would be a copyright violation!

No offense but it's a kids cartoon, he doesn't have to create some highly advanced species and name for Chowder.

Come on Toon Overlord, I'm sure you've used a search engine to find your favorite cartoon and saw fan-made porn, everyone has, it's unavoidable.

By the way (and not getting off the subject of Chowder, we like him and the show) the term "Hybrid" means "mixture". I been hearing this word since those hybrid cars came out a few years ago. Now back to Chowder.

Huh. At first I thought he was just a chubby purple kid (hey, they used bizarre skin colors on "Doug"), but then I noticed his tail and thought he was a cat. And then on Thrice-Cream Man where he takes off his hat...I was pretty much stumped then. The closest thing I could think of to him would be a raccoon. Interesting.
And I still say Panini's just a rabbit.

If the creator says something, it’s true. If he seriously said that Chowder is a pickle, we would all have to accept that he’s a pickle, as it’s his show. I’ll never understand why some people refuse to believe what the creator says, especially since he wasn’t joking around when he said that Chowder and Panini were cat-bear-rabbit creatures. So, they are. Call them what you want, but the truth remains.

Yeah, I know. I still believe it. I just think Panini's more rabbit than bear or cat. I mean, she looks like a rabbit-bear-cat. The rabbit part just seems stronger than the other two. That last post was a little confusing. Sorry about that.

I'm just going to call them 'cutie patooties', because they're just so adorable. :anime:
