This week, we learn what L looks like and how the investigators will try to stop Kira. And Light will continue to kill people he feels doesn't belong in his world.

Also, please keep major spoilers out of this thread. If you can't determine if a spoiler is major or not, ask yourself, "Will it ruin it for those who are watching the show for the first time on AS?" If you have to ask that, then it probably isn't a good idea to post it, spoiler tags or not.

Light and L need to have a bishi battle. ^_^ It's funny that everybody is all 'WTFBBQ!!111!!' when they see him. He is so hilariously odd. L is a total space cadet.
Happy smiling Light is a tad bit creepy. I love how hes probably going to royally screw over the poor genius wife of Ray. This is why you can never trust anybody too much.

.. I do think he sounds abit old..

I kind of think that as well. He sounds a tiny bit too old for how old he actually is. Light still sounds wonderful, though. Such a perfect voice for him.

I personaly think he sounds too normal, i thought hed sound, you know,.....crasier, at least thats how i imagined his voice would be i the manga.

Just finished watching on adultswim.com. L's odd behavior is just awesome, and it's great the way he says "I also don't like to lose". I love how Light is really playing along with the people involved with the Kira case, like he's on their side, when he's actually Kira himself. Ray's fiancee is really brilliant and managed to catch on to Kira's involvement with Ray's death pretty quickly. I thought it was creepy the way Light tells her to "come to her death" in the next episode preview.

It kinda bothered me before ..but "And not just a god of death" Got on my nerves. Is it gonna be Light's "Believe It!" or his "You've still got a ways to go" or something..

As Light himself said in the ep, there is a writer... uh god on his side, and it's not just a god of death. I mean really if Naomi was able to discover Kira's ability to kill those without just giving them heart attacks, figure he had contact with Ray during that busjacking and even that Kira had been given Ray's name before his death, she might of even discovered it was the kid she was blabbing all this information too that was the one who killed her finacee. I guess Light does have some charm being able to get all of Naomi's suspicions out of her, but it looks like that's going to cost her. Afterall last time he said he was going after Ray the officer was done for. What makes Naomi special, besides being more deductive then even L? Not that it wasn't a pretty interesting scene L and others going over Kira's recent behavoir and determining he might of been one of the people being investigated on by the FBI. L has some weird mannerisms but he is pretty clever about them and at least shows he's willing to risk his neck to help out the others. Still this episode was dragged down by... well i'm going to have to say the whole spoining cause. Having Light's last line be the line from last week's preview kind of made this one feel like we already knew what would happen with the Naomi/Light plotline in this ep before it even happened. Which does feel like a pretty big waste to me really.

The tone or accent in L's voice seemed to change a couple of times to me. Anyways, I'm glad we finally got to see those been-staring-at-the-computer-monitor-too-long eyes of his.:o

I read the corresponding manga chapters for this episode too, but not past them for now. I was expecting whatever slip-up he made to appear (I don't know what it is either). Nothing new about the Death Note rules for this ep, though.

I hope Light doesn't kill the fiance too soon. Oh, and in the last episode her name was mentioned,
it was just pronounced differently from what I'd expect. Raye said "now you're my fiance, "Now-me" Japanese pronunciation, I figure). Of course, she's using a different name for obvious reasons.

BTW, who else found an L Mii on Wii's Check Mii Out channel?

Hmm, L is quite an interesting person in... person. I knew he was gonna be weird based on the small glimpses in the intro, but not this kooky. As for Ray's fiancee (Naomi?), I was kinda disappointed that she didn't had any type of suspicion towards Light when he just got all informative and asked a thousand questions when they met. Not exactly the best detective moment there...

I'm not sure I want to know what kind of battle you want to see. :shrug: :sweat:

I wonder if this is how the show ends up. Every couple of eppys Light discovers someone new is on to him and then next eppy he kills them. I hope this is not the pattern since that will get old fast.

For someone who seems to think just like Light, 'L' seems to be the personal oppisite. From the nervous twitches to the twidling of his toes, if it wasn't for the way he talked, I would swear he isn't all there. Then again, Light seems in complete control of himself, but is clearly insane when he gets to talking about the deathnote.

I can't wait to see more of 'L' in the future to learn more about him. each week he seems to get more and more interesting.

Yeah, I don't really think his voice fits too well for L. I can see what they were thinking though, I think they were aiming for a mature voice because he is so intelligent (I thought they could've done the same voice as the original Japanese one though, it wouldn't have been too hard to do I think.

I know this might sound like blind hate but I hate this episode the most. It's just the dramatic irony. After Ray's death, we have Light meet his fiancé who's grown suspicious of Kira's murders; including the bus incident... It's almost too easy to guess where this is heading...

Yeah. Looks like I won't be liking the next episode, either. >_>

I still say killing the FBI agents was unnecessary. They didn't even suspect Light and now he's drawn more attention to himself.

Glad to see L conduct a 1-on-1 interview with each of the remaining police officers to make sure they are not Kira or working for him.

Hey, is anyone loving Ls actor, Alessandro Juliani (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alessandro_Juliani)? This man is making me love L all over again. Especially his two lines,

"Because I'm also childish and hate to lose... That's how i know."

and,

"As if to say... 'What are you gonna do about it?'"

You're definitely not the only one. I actually like dub L more than sub L. I dunno, Juliani makes L sound pretty sexy. Never thought I would use the words L and sexy in the same sentence, yet here we are. :sweat:

Anyway, the first instance of epic is coming.

Wait... that's L? He looks nothing like I thought he would. And wow... he even admits how similar he is to Light? He's childish and he hates to lose? Man, I'm so confused... can it be easier to catch the other if the two of them think twin-like similar, yet harder since they act wildly independent?

And I bet Light wasn't thinking of the oversight being Pember's nosy fiancé. He's probably thinking "she's too smart for her own good." Uh oh.

I loved the delivery of the line "Let's try to keep our lives, shall we?" as he turned to walk into the living room. So sarcastic, yet emotionless and deadpan.

My favorite L line (though he had several great ones in this ep) was when he was imitating Kira. "If you withhold the names of your worst criminals, I'll kill petty criminals or the innocent. I'm holding the whole world hostage, so who's it gonna be? I'm not the evil one here, but all who oppose me by hiding criminals, you are truly evil." He sounded so much like Light there that it was incredibly creepy.
