Chillaxe this Thanksgiving season with the only minor that can legally walk around in public in just underwear and boots, Astro Boy!

Discuss!

Actually they're pulling it before the 23rd. Tomorrow is the last episode. :crying:

yeah what a shame.

The dub may have been corny, but it was one of the better new (as in new-to-AS) shows on the line-up.

EDIT: Why is Astroboy on AS.com's intro page? this decision to pull the show from the schedule seems pretty strange.

Wait, seriously?

Dammit, I wish I had taped the last few episodes then. I was hoping to catch them in order the next time around.

At least we'll still have that Astro Boy Christmas marathon next month, right?

I knew it'd be too good to last.:crying:

And I just put Discs 5 & 6 on my Netflix queue. (Just got Disc 7--library rental).

Oh well, maybe they'll bring it back some time.

And there's always Boomerang. I think he and Gigantor will be more happy there than on the unappreciative Adult Swim.

You would think that, yet it doesn't seem Boomerang would ever air those shows.

I wonder what old school anime AS would consider next? Maybe Kimba, another Billie Lou Watt role (the first on this channel was Jimmy Sparks from Gigantor). Seeing all these other old shows has made me curious to see what it was like, even if it looks as cheesy as the others--compared to today, that is.

For Kimba, picture it as Astro Boy in color, except with a similar plot to The Lion King.

Oh, and with something actually resembling a budget.

Wasn't Kimba the first color anime?

The first color anime on television, yes.

It is in the public domain. would be easier and cheaper to acquire than making new 12 Ounce Mouse episodes. lol :p

It's been at least a week or two since li'l AstroBoy got taken of the [AS] schedule, but I'm still keeping up with the episodes. (Discs 5 and 6 are coming from Netflix, and I just got Disc 8 from the public library.)

Is anyone else out there watching the DVDs? Maybe there's a DVD talkback somewhere among these forums where we can discuss the show beyond what's been shown on [AS]...

I don't think there is a talkback for the 60s astroboy dvds, if you make one I doubt it'd be too popular at TZ, astroboy-online.com's forum would welcome you discussing things there though.

I plan on buying the DVDs but I probably won't get those in a long time, when the new astro movie comes out the soonest.
