This week, the UK arc starts. It's the second to last arc in the series.

One year after the fall of the Red Shield, where are they now?

Kai is now staying at an orphanage in London still battling Chiropterans with the fat Jamaican guy (though probably not before months of psychiatric therapy).

David is blind stinking drunk 24/7.

Julia is in America as far as we know.

Riku is still dead, and Diva's still a whore.

And Saya is probably not in this episode, at least not yet.

Regrettably, Monsieur Sowairball is still alive.

Vampires vs. zombies. (Make that an army of Sayas.)

Cool. Mao and the reporter guy are still here. I thought they'd be written out.

Dang, Kai. That suit looks good on ya.

Wow. Drunk David + angry Kai = drunk Roy Mustang + moralizing Hughes. The scenes with them were just like that one FMA episode which had a couple flashbacks of a boozed up Roy getting some sense talked into him by his buddy.*was just watching the episode on DVD a few hours ago* They even had the same chin stubble!

Kai looks nice ^_^ and horah for Saya! French guy is still sportin that terrible accent, even after a year. Joel in a wheel chair? Thats pretty pimpin, Joel. You go, you crazy Brit.

David's a drunk...wasn't expecting that. And now Kai has some attitude. That's like the exact opposite from last week (when Kai was all emo and David was still bad ass).

It'll be interesting to see how things play out from here.

That's one hell of an aburpt time shift between episodes, but I guess we'll cover what happened on the ship sometime later in a flashback or something... I hope.

Anyway, wow, a timeskip? And a year? It felt more like only a few months with the way everything was... Something tells me we're gonna get some type of flashback episode in the next episode or two. I highly doubt they're gonna completely avoid the events that happened between the last episode and this one.

Flamethrows need fuel and if the fuel tank is hit then you go boom. The more powerful vamps have shown they have extreme speed.

Thats exactly what I thought! I was kind of hoping for the 'da da da da da da da da daaaaaa!' fanfare music and for them to twirl their swords around onto their backs after they hacked up that chiropteran. I mean I know the SOLDIERS didnt do that but it would have been fun to see 3 of them do it in unison!

So, I wasn't the only one who noticed Kai. Looking a tan older. cool. Maybe it has knocked some sense into him. He's taken over David's job now. Did anyone notice the necklace that Kai was wearing? It's kind of odd that Mao is still travelling with the reporter. I mean, they've been travelling together for a year? Isn't she only a teenager? Shouldn't she be in school or something? Then again, I'm pretty sure Kai is a teenager too and he acts way too mature for a teenager.

I thought that was weird too, since everybody else went through a moderate change and they didn't.

As for an explanation, maybe she's like those child actors that somehow get schooled but you never really know how. Then again, she's a mafia princess; she's already got the status, so why worry about school when she can pull the strings to get things done?

What I want to know, is if it took less than a year for Mao and Reporter Man to find Kai, why is it she is still running free with a living reporter when her Daddy dearest was so intent to catch them in Japan and hasn't found them yet?

Maybe Daddy Told Reporter man that he only gets to live if he marries his Daughter, therefore not being indecent, and keeping his spoiled brat out of his hair????

Hmmm, I have to say I didn't see it coming. The whole "one year later" plotting we had here. I mean anime shows have been known to skip ahead (and stay skipped) but this one seemed kind of random. Maybe becaue like I said before I didn't see it coming. Still I suppose after Riku's death they needed some time to pass before the characters (well Kai anyway) could look actually functional to the story again. Well I guess Kai is, trying to find ways of actually killing Choropirtans that are now popping up more then before while David goes into a slew of depression. (It's always the seemingly most held together guy that goes down the hardest in these kind of things. I mean you wouldn't of excepted him to become a sloppy alcholic instead of his normal "cool guy" unless you actually saw it happen right?). Then again it's not like the world's a happy place either: Solomon and other chevaliers got they're own secret choroporitan destructive unit (for whatever reason that is), our hero teams seems more suited to babysitting orphans then destroying Choropterians and Saya and Haji haven't been seen... until a very brief cameo at the end. I really really really really hope that they at one point go back to the fight at the boat and explain what happened to the whole Saya/Deva battle that was hinted at last ep. I would be really ticked if they didn't deliver on that for whatever reason, even if it wasn't the big climatic battle it still had to have some effect on the plotline, espically on why Saya disappered for so long. Well hopefully those episodes will be explained next time. Till then pretty decent episode. The whole time thing through me for a loop (I guess pun intended) but things worked out in it rather well. IMHO anyway.
