The second week of of the British import series, Darkplace is here. It definately was interesting to watch the first episode last week. It was weird and funny at the same time. It airs tonight at 11 pm.

Maggots. Maggots. Maggots.

I know it's British, but that accent could get on my nerves.

10 "Did you attack the chef? Thanks for your time."
20 GOTO 10

Telly kinesis.

YOU CAN SEE THE STRINGS!

"Trapped in his office by a desk he could no longer trust"..."a stapler with my name on it"..tee hee.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. I'd rather have the Waldorf salad. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.

This show is so incredibly odd. The conceitedness of the cast is somewhat hilarious, though.

"I portended that by the year 2040, the world would see its first female mechanic. And who knows? She might even do a decent job."

that made me laugh

Best episode of the series. The jokes in this one are pitch-perfect.

Maggots. Maggots. Maggots? Maggots.

Stephen Merchant!

"I call Garth the Orson Welles of horror, and not just because of his weight."

The word of the day: rebelliance.

I love how everyone on staff is armed. Man vs. Whisk!

"If you go to a Punch and Judy show to see the wires, you're a freak." Dean's delivery gets me every time.

You got to love how the cook randomly threw in the phrase "sonofa*****" in his speach.

Also, was there an S-Bomb in that part near the end of part 1 or was that blanking intentional?

"No way, I work alone"
"Look at it this way, at least your not going with Liz."
"Point taken"

The random shotgunning from last episode returns!

There's a couple. One where Garth just point blank says it before Reed begins shooting at plates, and another where he says it while waiting for chicken.

I didn't notice it cuz the music was layered over, I took it for a deliberate technical error.

Good on WS.

Sanchez sounds like Basil Exposition from Austi Powers movies to me.

Is the six episodes thing common in Britian?

It's happened before. The original Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy miniseries was six episodes, as was Monty Python in its 1974 season (when John Cleese left).

Also, Fawlty Towers and The Young Ones were both two seasons of six episodes.

Or just when they get Family Guy syndrome and cancel good stuff because it hasn't been advertised or given a good slot...Also I think a lot of comedians do short seasons so the ideas don't get stale by the end of the first season...I think it's good thing, I'd always rather be left wanting more...

Ps. I'm a girl and that episode almost made me wee laughing....:anime:
