New Robot Chicken tonight on the FIX and on AS 11:30PM Sunday Night. Episode 14 of the season (I believe), "Slaughterhouse On The Prarie".
SYNOPSIS:
Never seek the help of She-Ra, princess of power, when she's on her period. Danny and the gang of Grease build a new kind of sex machine. The intestive care bears care more then they're HMO will allow. Nobody in Smurf Vilalge ever expected the dam to break... those poor bastards. See what happens when the writers are a minute short and need to waste... uh fill for time.
REVIEW:
In short one of the weakest episodes yet. The short jokes weren't even funny (I suppose the guy being hung in the laundry line was funny, The Monkey/Aids joke was to weakly random to be consdiered funny, I had no idea what the point/refrence was about the two girls and the evil box and that woodland creature, Pinhead was okay but didn't really end too strongly, I'd need to see Babel to get the refrence, though parodying lego sets that are actually known would of been a much better joke thinking about it. And when you have to reach into the "let's kill a baby in front of a family" joke for laughs you know you're dealing with sad sick people). The main plot of She-Ra took way too long getting to her killing her enemies with the talk of "Aunt Flow" to be funny (South Park Did It Better Number One: "Spookyfish"). The Grease gag was alright if only for the reveal of the humping robot but everything after that (espically in the second part) felt fairly meh. I didn't really see the point to INtensitve care bears joke, and really why bother reusing the smurf and lamley mention Katrina at this point? (I guess Gargemell getting the smurfs is worth something but not too much). And the whole "Emmy Nominated" thing at the end was really poorly handled. (South Park Did It Better Number Two: "More Crap"). So overall really weak ep this time around. I hope the rest of the season goes better because they're really reaching this time in season 3 to be funny and the reaches just aren't really producing anything too good.
Well that's it. Enjoy Everyone!

I'm wishing they'd stop the random, gore skits. They're not funny, they're never funny. The skits in which a superhero from the 1980s is portrayed as a pathetic hasbeen, pervert, drug addict, or worse are not even remotely funny.
Now onto the episode
Weakest links...
Grease parody
She-Ra
Intensive Carebears
Not-as-weak links
Dead baby in maternity ward
Gargamel finally eating the smurfs but deciding he doesn't like it and just ordering chinese. "The king doesn't care about blue people" Also, the smurf figures look a little better this time around.
Other than a few chuckles, there weren't really any laughs. Where this show usually shines, the short skits, it was just lame. Guess we can't get last week's episode everytime.

Hahaha. Beaver sex. and why is there a skit mentioned in the description every week that isn't in the episode? One week it talked about the michelin man, this week it mentioned the ET Atari game.

She-Ra's Period: Metaphors are lost on these people.
Dry Cleaning Rack: Good
Grease Parody: Errk.
Two Girls and a Squirrel in a Tree Who Teach Bible Stories Sketch Where a Guy in a Box Teaches them Homosexuality is a Sin: What show was this?
Intensive Care Bears: Uhh.
Lego Babel: This may sound stupid, but what's Babel?
Hurricane Smurf-ina: I think he was better off turning them into gold.
One Minute Too Short: Best description of the series I've seen thus far.

I thought the girls and the box was an Indiania Jones reference
Okay, it's time to clue you kids in about the two girls and the squirrel in the tree, because you wouldn't have any chance of getting it if you didn't get local New York City television between 1971 and 1982. WPIX used to run a children's show called "The Magic Garden," which starred a couple of young folk-singing teachers from the NYC school system. It was produced on a minuscule budget and was a local institution for years and years. Anyway, one of the segments they would have was called Story Box, where they'd go to the story box and pull out various props which they'd use to act out little stories, basically showing kids at home that they could go to their toy boxes and amuse themselves by making up adventures with whatever random stuff they could find, or else act out a story they'd already heard. You can see clips of them here on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckvufUXG7nM).
To be honest, I screamed like a little girl when I saw the Magic Garden sketch on RC tonight, since I think it came dangerously close to breaking the universal nerd obscurity meter. Now I have to wonder if we're going to see any sketches of Wonderama in the future as well.

Dangerously close? They didn't just break it, they shattered it, pissed on it, buried it, and held another season of "So You Think You Can Dance" on it's grave.

Lego Babel: This may sound stupid, but what's Babel?
It's a story from The Bible: the Tower of Babel was this tower built by the people of the Old World which was supposed to lead up to Heaven, but the tower collapsed and all the people crashed in different places in the world, upon hitting the Earth, they all were speaking different languages (supposedly this is why the people of the world all speak different tongues today.)
Specifically, RC was alluding to the the 2006 movie Babel starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett.

Specifically, RC was alluding to the the 2006 movie Babel starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett.
It was nominated for best screenplay, score, editing, director, picture, supporting actress oscars, along with some others I think. But didn't win any (Loosing out to Little Miss Sunshine and the Queen).
It's a selection of interconnecting stories about how we don't really understand each other/language barriers etc. The director also did 21 grams.
It's funny because it's a really very serious film, the opposite of say Harry Potter or Star Wars (though make no mistake I take star wars very seriously indeed).
But then jokes that have to be explained aren't really funny, Maybe a Little Miss Sunshine Lego set would be funnier...
No laughs to be had in this one. I didn't think any of the skits were very funny, even keeping my mind open for most of it. I'm not saying the show itself is bad, but if seasons continue to be like the disaster this one is... yikes.
D
The She-Ra skit made me laugh....I used to be a big fan of the show when I was a little girl....The Smurfs/Hurricane Katrina skit was also pretty funny...

I have an idea....
Since everyone (including me in parts) isn't too impressed with robot chicken the season, I say someone should start an "Imaginary RC Skit" thread (I'm too new, I'm scared of starting one :o ) a couple of rules to suggest:
* No 80's cartoon characters/toys being crackheads ect.
* No picking on Lohan or Paris, too easy
Anyone up for that?
